Hi. My name is Skipper Chong Warson and I'd like to introduce my new podcast called How This Works. I've been thinking about this show for the last few years but have had no idea what it was about. Not really. And then eight months ago, the COVID-19 pandemic came along shutting down workplaces, schools, and our lives basically hit a standstill. And with it came lots of questioning facts, opinions, and authority in general. Among other things, I wanted to find out more about how other people had come into their beliefs and how they've become an expert in their worlds and specific fields. Maybe it's a hobby, maybe it’s something they do for work, maybe it's something in between. And so I'm resolving to talk to 100 people - some are folks I already know, many of whom I haven't met yet - and have them explain to me how this works, this being something they know very well. We'll launch our first episode in two weeks with Jake Kahana, one of the cofounders of Caveday, in a conversation about focus and distraction. This is something, I think, from which we can all take a lesson these days. And we've got quite a season planned. We'll also talk to Amy Kim Waschke, a company actor with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. And our chat with Selena Rosanbalm, an accomplished musician in Austin, TX who’s released a solo album this year. And then, a conversation with Jackie Velasquez-Ross, a senior recruiter at technology and design company InVision. And many more. So, look for How This Works in your favorite podcast app or on social media every Tuesday starting Dec first. I, for one, can't wait. One last thing. Is there someone we should talk to on the show? Send us a line. howthisworksshow - all one word, no spaces, no dashes - @gmail.com. Again, that's howthisworksshow@gmail.com. You can also visit our website at howthisworks.show. Well, that was two things I guess. Anyway, thanks so much. I'm very much looking forward to sharing this with you in two weeks. We'll talk again soon.
