If you're in the UK, you might still be able to get a patch. And after a long break help, a lock picker has put up a new video that's entitled, helpful Lock Pickers, return description says thank you to everyone who continues to support my channel. 

[00:02:10] I feel thankful to be able to continue to be part of this community in the comment section, even when I'm not able to make videos. And this week on Twitter, the user, the duke zip put up a post that said just saw tool animation being used in this company's ad, but too lazy to look up how open the license on the animation. And tool of course, replied to that with the actual license. 

[00:02:52] And I went to their website and looked up what their actual license info is here on the website. It says, this is a repository of the most up-to-date versions of deviance Lock diagrams and animate. Seen in all the tool, educational materials and slide decks. These are all released under the CC B Y N C S a creative commons license. 

[00:03:14] You are free to copy and redistribute them in any medium or format and also to remix, transform and build upon them under the following terms. So the BYI part is attribution. You must give appropriate. By providing a link to the license and indicate if any changes were made, you may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the lesson, sir, endorses you or your use. 

[00:03:38] The NC part of the license is non-commercial may not use this material for commercial purposes, and that would include this company is advertising. And the essay is share. Like if you remix transform or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original, which is this creative comments, attribution non-commercial share a like license. 

[00:04:01] And also on Twitter, lockpicking dev posted a tweet that said, so my front door got kicked in while I was taking a nap. I introduced the guy to the barrel of my gun while he was hunched over my PS five, I then escorted him. No nothing happened that made shooting necessary or illegal. He did leave great fingerprints on the PS five though. 

[00:04:22] And he's got pictures with that post of his front door and the damage that the would be thief, dead kicking in his front door, just to remind her that most thieves use other methods other than picking the lock to get in. But luckily luck picking dev is okay. And his property is still with. And of course we are very glad for that. 

[00:04:46] And deviant put up a new video on Kwikset called curious, quick set questions. I'll bet you'll learn something. And I'll read the description of the video where he says, thank you. Do night owl and rubber band, two of the wisest locksmithing voices. I know for sharing their knowledge with the community at every turn, some of the visuals in this video, I first shared in the tool slack while getting feedback from them and others, as we did. 

[00:05:12] Quick sets more obscure keys, big ups, and all my gratitude to the folk like Tony, uh, verily from 3d Locksports, who is a key collaborator with me at red team tools, as well as Latham who also works with me and was the other half of that bump key creation conversation and hat tip also to Trell for reminding me that foreclosure properties do still often make use of the seven depth in their key. 

[00:05:40] Anyway, it's a good walkthrough of the quick set, key blanks and the locks that use them and how the bidding works, which is very strange actually, uh, between the different keys. So, uh, definitely a good one to check out and, uh, learned something new, 

[00:06:03] moving on to Lock Pickers, United belts this week. I'm a bit confused about what I see. But we have new purple belts. Cisco spaceman is now a purple belt. Congratulations. Cisco Crispix is also new purple belt. And then I had a, a request and a grant listed on there for Jan Healey as a purple belt. But Jan's name now indicates a brown belt, but I don't see a request and granting on the discord for that. 

[00:06:34] So I don't know if maybe that happened in the Reddit or behind the scenes. Or what, but, uh, Jan appears to be a brown belt now. So in one week jumped up there also posted was the current stats for the different belts on both discord and Reddit. So I'll go through those real quick here. And remember these overlap a little bit. 

[00:06:56] So a lot of people that are on discord are also on the Reddit. So there's going to be overlap a lot of. On the discord. I don't have a total up and I don't feel like adding them, but we have white belts, 177 yellow belts, 284, orange 556 green, 323 blue, 164 purple 97, brown 48, red 43 and black 83 on the Reddit.

Orange belts, 1,892 green belts, 6 46, blue belts, 222 purple belts, 1 0 3 brown belts, 48, red belts, 39 black belts, 82 for a total of 5,452 people currently participating in that system on Reddit, quite a popular system. This week, woman finds secret floor safe, hidden under carpet of new house. She bought says a woman stumbled across a floor safe in the new home she bought after finding it under the carpet while vacuum. 

[00:10:32] She shared a clip on Tik TOK saying that the safe appeared to be in full working order, but was locked. She stated that she tried calling the safe company whose sticker was on the safe and several locksmith. She said none of the locksmiths wanted to work on a floor safe, especially since it was cemented in. 

[00:10:49] She was able to get a quote from one of them that reportedly quoted her $700 to open the safe. She eventually found a man named Jim who was able to open the safe. But I'll leave the reveal, uh, to you to check out on her tick-tock channel, which will be linked in the show notes. If you want to know what they found inside that whole thing. 

[00:11:08] Got me wondering, what is it about a floor safe? That was so. Objectionable to, uh, the locksmith, maybe some of those who work on safes or, or locksmiths could comment in about why you would refuse to work on a floor safe. Is it because it's there and you can't take it to the shop and work on it? What, what is the reason for the floor safe being something they don't want to work on?
