00:00:04 Welcome to the Money Mindset Podcast. Well, you'll find a judgment free zone to help you free yourself from overthinking and the fear of doing things the wrong way. It's time to shed yourself of the mom, guilt, procrastination, and perfectionism so you can start doing the things that you really want to do with your money instead of just working to pay bills. 00:00:25 I'm Ashley Patrick, ex detective turn debt free CEO of my very own business and stay-at-home mom of three. Not too long ago, my dreams of staying at home with my kids seemed impossible. I thought I'd have to stay miserable in a high stress and demanding job just so I could retire someday. After gaining the confidence in my own ability to manage my family's finances and a simple step by step plan to make it happen, 00:00:50 I was able to pay off $45,000 in just 17 months, which then allowed me to finally quit my job, stay at home with my kids and build a debt free business. Now my mission is to help moms like you conquer debt and free themselves from the mental load of handling their family's finances. If you're ready to shed the guilt and shame surrounding your past money mistakes and tackle your debt, 00:01:14 this is the place for you. Let's get started. Today is another budget strategy session where I help Gina strategize and start to implement her budget plan because she is a perfectionist and she's overthinking everything. She's having a hard time letting go of all the responsibilities that she has. And so if you are also a, a recovering or trying to recover perfectionist, you understand this struggle because it is hard when you are trying to do everything yourself because you just can't let other people do it because they won't do it the right way. 00:02:04 So if you are stuck because of your perfectionism, this is the episode for you because we walked through some things that Gina is struggling with and kinda, you know, coach her a little bit on how to let some things go, but also how to implement her budget plan because this is where she is really stuck and overthinking things. So if you would like to come on the Money Mindset Podcast for your own budget strategy session, 00:02:34 it doesn't cost a thing. You just have to sign up and show up to record an episode with me. So go to budgets made easy.com/strategy to pick your time today. Now go ahead and go do that before you forget because the times are filling up fast. Now let's dive into Gina's episode. Hi Gina. Thank you so much for being here for another budget strategy session. 00:03:04 How are you doing today? I'm doing great. Busy. Just got off of work, so getting everybody organized and getting, gonna make dinner after this. Yay. Yes, I know you're busy, very busy. So I appreciate you taking the time to come on the podcast. And so what we do with these budget strategy sessions is we discuss like one of your biggest budget struggles. 00:03:27 Of course we don't have time. I'm sure there's probably more than one, you know, we all have different struggles but you know, we gotta limit it to one cuz time is limited. But what, can you give us a little bit of background about yourself and then let us know what your biggest struggle is that we can work through today? Sure. 00:03:44 So my biggest struggle is, is just I feel like I could budget effectively. My, my biggest struggle is getting my like spreadsheet down and I mean I know, I know it's a constant thing and I know you're like, let it go. But in my mind I cannot let the, I can't let it go cuz in my mind it is the foundation of my organization. 00:04:07 Okay. You know, it's, it's how I organize myself. What I've been using prior to this is Google Calendar and then in the Google calendar they have that remind section and I, I've created in that section color coded like for each month it's color coded and I have all my bills and all, you know, in there and organized, but it wasn't really like a savings kind of a budget. 00:04:36 It was more so like a keeping track of the bills, getting paid kind of a budget. So it wasn't helping me do anything besides keep track of making sure that my bills are getting paid. So it was, you know, helping but not helping and I felt like I needed something more solid. And it's not just your spreadsheet that I can't get, 00:04:56 I can't, I can't figure out how to do the, the have Quicken as well. I've got all kinds of spreadsheets for budgeting and I cannot figure out any of them. And I don't know what my mental block is in figuring this out on online. I just, I don't know what the issue is because in my mind I have it organized but it's just getting it to where I can see it I guess. 00:05:21 Okay. That's, that's my biggest Struggle Now to give everybody a little bit of background, Gina is in Money success club and we have worked, we have worked through this spreadsheet a couple times. It is like her nemesis and so, you know, I've taken a peek at it and stuff too, but it sounds like maybe the issue with the spreadsheet isn't the spreadsheet itself, 00:05:44 it's like how to implement and save for all those things that aren't monthly bills or what to do with your income after you pay your bills. Is that, is that accurate? Yes. Okay. So those are two different things and so what you'll do and you know, cuz I, I don't know if we've really like do dive doved, I don't know if we've really talked about this aspect of it before as much as just like how to use the spreadsheet in general. 00:06:17 So I think that would be a good thing to discuss now for those listening. So as you know, I teach how to budget by paycheck and so we've kind of broken down, I've showed you how to do that on the spreadsheet, but it sounds like we need to kind of create a plan for what to do with the money that's left over so that you can save for all those other things that don't come up every month. 00:06:40 Right. Okay. So basically what you will do is once you have your bills paid, which I think that on the spreadsheet, the last time that we kinda looked at it together, you had most of the bills in there I think, and maybe not all of them on your paychecks, but I think we had most of everything on there. I Think. 00:07:00 I think it's pretty, I think it's pretty Accurate. Yeah. And you had a decent amount of money left over without diving into the numbers or sharing your numbers, but you had money to work with after you pay your bills. And so what I would do for you where That money is, is I don't, I don't know where that money is because Yeah, 00:07:19 exactly. Exactly. And that's a very common problem because if you're not tracking where the money is going, it's like oh my God, like I have this much money left over every month. That's what usually happens when I show people and like kinda work more hands on with people. It's like, wait, I, I should have that much money left over. 00:07:38 Like where does it go cuz you feel so broke. Right? And so it's really about creating a plan so that you can still enjoy yourself because you know your budget's not, not tight enough that you can't like enjoy your life, right? Like you have money to work with so you can still enjoy your life and have some fun and still reach those other goals. 00:08:00 It's just a matter of like putting together a plan that makes sense for you and you know, and I know that we've talked in the past about meal planning and you know, not eating out so much and things like that. So you're working on that as well. So what I would suggest is to kind of map out the year, so we're recording this, 00:08:21 well shoot tomorrow's December 1st, so we're almost at the end of the year. So what I would encourage you to do is kinda look at next year as a whole and write down, okay, I like what you need extra to pay for each month because it's gonna take you some time to get things built up. And so you may have to like cash flow some things versus like saving each month for things. 00:08:47 So like if you have something coming up in February, you know, like Valentine's Day or if you have an anniversary or birthday or something, you don't have as much time to save for as if you would for the next year. Right. So just kind of what I like to do, cause I'm a very visual person as well, is I like to just Google a year at a glance calendar and I just print off a blank calendar and then I just kind of highlight important dates, 00:09:13 important weeks and just kind of make notes for the whole year as a whole so I can kind of get a big picture of the whole year. I would love it if you, if you did that and then kind of make some notes of like, you know, maybe what you think you wanna spend or save for whatever is happening that month. And then that'll give you a little bit clearer idea of how to map it out and what to save for. 00:09:38 So you know, if you have, well I already talked about February, you know, you'd only have about two months to save if you had something in February, but you know spring break is usually March or April and so are you doing something for spring break that you need to maybe save for or something this next summer? Cause it's already next Christmas already, 00:10:00 you know, do you want to start saving, you know a hundred dollars a month now for Christmas next year and you could work that into your budget. Now the I there's two different ways you could do this. I personally don't like to have so many things in my budget and so like when I have an extra paycheck, so like if you get paid biweekly, 00:10:21 you'll have those months where you have extra paychecks or if you get a Christmas bonus or your husband or you know, if there's any extra money that comes in overtime, things like that. I like to fill some of those buckets when that happens versus like a hundred dollars every month so that my budget's a little bit cleaner. But that's totally your personal preference. 00:10:42 Some people like to say per No, I like to do that too. Which is why I try at the beginning of the year when I get my tax return, I go through and I try to pay off all the things that I can pay off for the year. The little things like Disney plus and all, you know, things like that where I can pay off for the year and I don't have to account for it on a monthly basis cause it's paid for the year, 00:11:02 the insurance, car insurance and, and things like that. So, so with that being said, you would think that it would be even easier for me to not have a hundred dollars to my name and I don't get paid until next Friday. But it's not and I don't, and I think that when I really think about it, my issue is is we got behind initially on our things and so not only are we, 00:11:26 I think my problem with the my budget is that I not only have to pay this month's, you know, and the idea of the budget is to kind of get a month ahead. Right. Well At least two weeks do, do you and your husband Take biweekly on the same day? Both of you On the same day? Okay. Yeah. So ideally I'd like you not, 00:11:47 not even a whole month, you don't have to get a whole month ahead, but you know, ideally a week or two. But I'm Still trying to catch up from last month. Exactly. You know, so we're like behind down the payments, like we're like a month, like a couple weeks behind on the car payments and you know, so every month, 00:12:02 every couple weeks I'm trying to catch up from what we're behind on, you know, while still trying to get current and still trying to get ahead. And I think it's very overwhelming for me. Yes. And that's why we have no money left and then you have, you know, things that come up with the kids and like stupid things and, and then here we are, 00:12:23 you know, with literally I had to transfer a hundred dollars into a savings account so they, so that a, you know, it wouldn't be taken outta my checking account so that we can have money for gas till next week when we get paid is, it's so sad that we make so much when we make good money. So it's sad that we make so much money and that is how we have to live and you know, 00:12:46 because we just, I cannot, I don't know why I can't get it organized. So that's kind of where I, I think that when I really sit and think about it, that's where my problem is. Yeah. Okay. Couple questions. How, how, you don't have to gimme the specific number, but how big of a tax return are you getting? 00:13:04 Like several thousand dollars or like, like a huge tax return. Like so last year we got a $10,000 tax return. Okay. That's almost a thousand dollars a month. I know that you're overpaying in taxes for one. So I YouTubed, you know, getting ready for this next year I YouTubed how to fill out W four s to maximize you get more in your paycheck, 00:13:29 less in your tax returns. And I feel like the dumbest person in the world because I don't, I also, again cannot, you know, right now we claim zero on our, I think we claim zero. We don't Probably, if you're getting that much back, you're probably claiming single and zero. So you need to No, we're claiming married. 00:13:49 We're married. But, but I'm pretty sure we're both claiming zero on it. But I'm afraid to change it because for a long time we were claiming deductions we were claiming and whatever and we weren't having enough money taken out of our taxes and we owed the IRS and then our, and then our tax return was being garnished because we owed the irs. And so I don't wanna ever have to go through that again. 00:14:14 Yeah. So I would rather get a big tax return and know that it's, you know, instead of owing if so, but I know that there's a happy medium somewhere in there. Yeah. And I just don't know how to get to it. I would love to have extra money in my paycheck cuz that's a lot of money. What I would suggest now I'm not a tax person of course. 00:14:35 Right. And the new W four is confusing and it's not just like zero and one and two now you like have to, it is confusing. So you might need to talk to hr but I would, you know, maybe what it used to be, instead of a zero, maybe at least have both of you outta one. You know what I mean? 00:14:54 So it's a little bit but not like you're both at three because that would not be enough, you know, type of thing. Right. Probably. So, you know, maybe see if you can change that a little bit so that you're not both at zero even though I don't even think it's zero any he, the form is confusing. I do not know how Form I Know how to fill it out. 00:15:15 I know, right? Like I don't get this at all so I can't really help you with the form. Right. I can't help apparently neither can it's You. It's not you I promise. But you are right because if you're overspending just your paycheck, having more in your paycheck is not gonna help you that much. It could actually be hurtful. It could sets you further behind because you know, 00:15:38 I, I have an idea of your numbers and I think the biggest issue is the overspending and I think so too. It's not necessarily the organization or the spreadsheet or having too much in taxes. Like those are all kind of mental roadblocks or excuses if you will. Like that's not your problem. Your problem is the overspending in the day today. And I know you are very, 00:16:04 very busy and you have to drive really far to take your kids to school and like you're just on the go all the time and you're trying to do all Of these. No, but you're right. It's the overspend. Like you just, it is what it is. Let's you know, just call it what it is. It is. That's why we're here. 00:16:19 Right. So Yeah, It's overspending. It is. That's exactly what it is. So what I would like you to, what I would like to see you try, I don't know if you've already tried this cuz I know I've mentioned it before and I don't remember what you, which videos you were on or were not. But what I would like to see you do and try is get a little blank notebook. 00:16:42 It can be a small one that'll fit in your purse. It doesn't have to be like the big, you know, binder or anything like that. Just a small notebook. And I would love to see you at least for a while. It doesn't have, it won't be forever. It's temporary. Okay. Write down every time you spend money, like write it down every single time and to when you're trying to get caught up. 00:17:07 You know it would, you remember how we used to have checkbook registers and we would write down the balance and the Yes. It's the same concept just in a notebook. So have your, whenever you get paid, cuz obviously you're a little bit behind right now. So when you get paid, write down your paycheck, both paychecks, how much money you have left, 00:17:26 what bills need to be paid from that paycheck, whether they've cleared or not does not matter. It's whatever you're gonna pay out of it. So The behind paychecks plus what is due, Whatever you need to pay. Okay. Out that paycheck. So for my husband, like would it be better cuz we have a joint bank account. So do, do you think it would be better just to like give him cash for the things that he needs and just account for his spending as cash? 00:17:55 Or do we need to, or do we need to itemize like what that cash is being spent on That for the exercise? Yeah, if you have a line item amount, like you just wanna give him like whatever he spends his money on, 200, a hundred dollars, $200, whatever it is, he doesn't have to account for that. But once the money, 00:18:15 you know, you can just write cash to him for And then once it's gone it's gone. Once it's gone, it's gone. That's the idea. Okay. Something else I would like to see you do is get cash for like fast food and so when it's gone, it's gone. Okay. I think those two things, tracking and if you for cash, 00:18:38 I don't track it, but when it's gone it's gone. You know, so like if you get a hundred dollars out for fast food for the next two weeks, which I realize is not a lot for our family sizes, that's like once a week if that, That's like McDonald's. But yeah, I've been, I've been doing actually really good with my meal planning and sticking to it and so that is, 00:18:59 that is something that I'm kind of proud of and there's only been a couple weeks That's awesome. But we've been doing it and yes, we haven't been going out to eat as much and spending that kind of money on eating out. So baby steps. That is No that's huge. That's a big deal. That's hard. And that, that takes practice for sure. 00:19:17 Yes. So that, that should be celebrated. Absolutely. So you know, if you are going to budget in some eating out, you know, cuz you can, you know, get it in cash and then you're not having to, that's less you have to write down, you just have to keep track of the cash. Right. And if you're gonna go through the dr, 00:19:36 you know, it can be a little tricky like if your husband goes through and you've got the cash but you know, it takes practice so you can work that out. You just have to be on the same page. Exactly. So those would be the two things that I would start now and kind of work on that because tracking the spending when you actually have to write it down, 00:19:58 you're like, I don't wanna write this down. And you have to actually look at the numbers and it's so much easier to avoid it. Right. And it's like you're Like lying to Think about it later. I know I have to, I know I'm behind on this but I don't wanna track it because I don't wanna, I don't want, I don't want myself to see this on here. 00:20:16 Yes, Exactly. So exactly. That's what it is. That's my, that's my issue. Yes. So I'm sure, I mean if your kids are like mine, you probably have a million little notebooks around the house. So I would love for your 24 hour goal is to get that and you know, write down the hundred dollars for gas for the week and then when you guys get gas, 00:20:37 write that down, then the paychecks and then whatever bills you have to catch up out of that paycheck and then whatever you can pay out of that check going forward. And then, you know, of course have an amount, have an idea of how much you wanna spend on food, spending money. But that's really where you start. So when you're already behind, 00:20:58 you really aren't in a place to start thinking about all the savings that you need to do next year. You've gotta think about right now what do you need to pay? And then once you get caught up, that's when you start thinking about the bigger picture items. So right now I don't want you to stress about all the things next year. If you wanna map 'em out you can, 00:21:17 cuz I know we talked about that already. But focus right now on the day to day spending and you and seeing if you can work some cash into your system to see if that helps with the overspending. Okay, that's, I can do that. All right. So sound good? Yes, I like it. I can do that. I can do this. 00:21:37 Yeah You can. You can absolutely do it. And you know, in a couple months from now, if you follow through with just these simple little things, you're gonna be in a completely different place. Oh my god, I would love that. I mean we're not so far behind on things that we're like astronomically behind good. It's just like enough to where you miss a car payment and the people and the car payment people start calling you because you're just behind but not far enough to where they're gonna come get the car. 00:22:04 Yes. You know? Absolutely. So you're like, I'm talking like a paycheck. So like two weeks-ish, you know, like it was due on the 25th and so I need to pay it this next Friday when we get paid kind of behind, but even still not ideal, you know? Cause then you're gonna have to pay it again to get ahead of in Two weeks. 00:22:24 Yes. Yes. On top of everything else. And it's amazing how when you, even though you don't have a lot on your credit, when you do get behind on something on your credit, that one little thing totally destroys your credits. It's, it's, But you can bring back up. I don't wanna be worrying about your credit score right now. 00:22:43 Well I do because we wanna eventually buy a house, but right now we gotta get disorganized. Right. One you ironically I focus on one thing at a time. I know it's so much, you know, I'll go over, we'll talk about this and in our after we're done side story. Okay, go ahead. No, it's just, it's easy to get overwhelmed when you're thinking about all the things. 00:23:05 But right now your goal is to focus on the day to day and paycheck to paycheck to get caught up and get where you are paying things ahead. Now that may take a little time and hopefully you can do it this month and not have to wait until tax time unless you do your taxes really early and get it As soon as we get our, we do our taxes the day I get my w2's. 00:23:29 Okay, I'm on it. It's done. Well you should be able to get caught up at that point if you, but I think you can most likely get caught up in December. Okay. And so then you can start the year fresh and we can talk about some more strategies inside the Money success club as well to kind of get you where you're working on the budget system, 00:23:51 paycheck to paycheck. Cuz I feel like you're just getting overwhelmed by and trying to do all the things, the spreadsheet and the yearly expenses, all those things. And that's not what you need and your credit score. And that's not what you need to be thinking about right now once you get caught up and get ahead on paying off debt, which you can do, 00:24:10 your credit score will go up. Just let's put that on the back burner. Of course we don't want it to plummet or anything like that, but you can get caught up really fast and then once you start paying off debt, you're gonna be fine on your credit score. So, you know, just try, try to focus on one thing at a time. 00:24:28 I don't care if you have to like leave yourself a note, a sticky note on your, on your computer. One thing at a time. One thing at a time. That's true. Yes. Because you're just getting overwhelmed by all the things. That's Why I have lists. Yeah, exactly. Or color coded because it's, you know, who has time for one thing at a time. 00:24:48 Everything has to get done right now. So I just have to take a step back. You know, one thing at a time. You're correct and you, I mean you nailed it. You are right on the money with i, I do overwhelm myself, you know, and then I also don't allow anybody, I get angry that nobody wants to help me do the things, 00:25:06 but when they try to help me do the things, I get frustrated because they're not doing the things my way correctly. And when like when I want it done, I want it done. I'm not asking you to do it an hour from now. I want it done now. Like right now. Yes. Or else I'm gonna do it. Just forget it. 00:25:23 So I'll just do it myself. So that's, that's, that's kinda how I am with you know, everything. Yes. So the one thing at a time, you know me so well. I know we're all a bunch of overthinking perfectionists and I I know you are too. That's why I had to say it. It's True. It is True. 00:25:42 And there's no time, there's no air, there's no space for feelings. You know, it's, Yeah. Cause You're just overwhelmed by everything. But I mean even in like our, our relationship as far as talking about money and things like that, like I think in order to get past some things, feelings have to be put to the side and hard realities need to be faced because it's true. 00:26:07 You know, like this is what it is. I wouldn't be in the situation I am in if there weren't certain things that I'm doing that are, that need to be stopped or done differently. You know? So, you know, you are correct that we do overspend unnecessarily on a lot of things typically for the kids. Or also I feel like sometimes we go without for so long that we sometimes at some point are like, 00:26:37 oh, I need a break. Or I, I've gone without and I've sacrificed for so long, I need to buy this thing thing. And then we're back in our same circle again. You know, like, let me go to Kalahari for the weekend because we've been doing so good and then Kalahari is $600 for the night and now we're, that's a whole car payment, 00:26:56 you know, which we haven't done in a long time. Fyi, but I'm just using that as an excuse. Yeah. I mean as an example. But that's what we do. You know, we're good, good, good. And then we do something, we splurge and then we're back where we were and that's correct. We overspend unnecessarily. So Yeah, 00:27:12 it's easy to do when you feel like you've deprived yourself for so long and then you just bench, you know? Yes. That's what happens. And so something to just think about once you're in the place to start working on things next year is to set money aside to reward yourself. Now it doesn't necessarily need to be a trip away, that's gonna be hundreds of dollars, 00:27:34 but it could be going out on a date night. Or maybe you need to just work that into an every month thing, you know? I don't know. But you know, an idea like that. So like okay. You know, have some things just built in there to treat yourself so that you don't feel like you're just depriving yourself all the time. 00:27:52 And then you bench and you know, you could also, like I said, put a little bit aside for a weekend trip or whatever when you, you know, reach a big goal. You know, if you go and you pay off a bunch of debt by like June, maybe you and your husband can take a trip somewhere and then you can pay for it in cash and not have to worry about it. 00:28:11 So When Covid hit, this is what I was gonna tell you. When Covid hit, we were, we had bought plane tickets through Frontier. We were gonna go to Colorado for Easter to visit my family and then C came around and our flight got canceled but Frontier was not having it. They're like, Nope, we're not giving you your money back. 00:28:31 We're not refunding your tickets. We, they basically stole our money, right? All our money for our tickets. And I was like, live it. And I filed a complaint with the FAA and all the things. But then, I mean at some point, well you're just one person, what can you do? Well, recently I got an email saying that they Frontier is refunding people airline credits for if you tried to book a flight between such and such dates. 00:28:56 So I got that money back. Oh nice. Not money, they didn't refund my money, but they're in flight ticket, you know. Oh, okay. So you can take a Flight. So we can take a flight, you know, that money's there for us to take a flight. And normally you only have 15 days to use that credit. 00:29:11 Oh gosh. Which is ridiculous. Yeah. That's Not enough Time. The lady extended it out for three months and so I have until like the middle of December to figure out where we're gonna go on vacation with no money. Okay. To do anything to go anywhere. But we have to, it has to be at least booked. Okay. We don't have to fly, 00:29:31 but the trip has to be booked. And so And you have to book something by March then? Roughly? I have to book something by December. Well, I mean for like you would have to, if you were gonna go, you would have to go by March. No, She Gave us Three months to book the flights. Oh, okay. 00:29:49 Can fly. We can make, you can fly throughout the year. Okay. As far out as the schedule will allow for us to book tickets. Oh, Okay. Got. I just have until we had three months to, to book the flight. Okay. So right now we've procrastinated on it cuz that's a very daunting, you know, when you wanna go somewhere and you have no money, 00:30:08 you're like, I need to go here, here, here. And you have all these ideas, but when you have the, the availability, then you're like, where should we go? Like, I don't even know what to do with this. Yeah. You know, like it's, I don't even, I, I can't, I can't make any flights because I don't know what to do with it. 00:30:25 You know, like You don't even know where you wanna go. Right. And I don't, even if I, if I knew where to go, I don't have any money to spend there. I don't wanna go on vacation and have to eat pretzels. Yeah, I get it. So I totally understand. Now is this for the whole family? Family? 00:30:41 It was for the whole family. But Frontier, we had a really good, you know, this is before like life became super expensive. We booked, there were round trip round tripe it, round trip tickets for all five of us. $600. What? I know, right? I Know Frontiers a little bit cheaper, but what, No, so, 00:31:02 so it's not like we're getting an astronomical amount of money back. It'll probably end up being just the two of you tickets. Which Is stressful cause I've never gone anywhere without my kids. So what, well, when's your anniversary? It was this past Saturday. So November. I don't know if you'd wanna travel some. I'm just thinking maybe next year. 00:31:24 I mean this isn't a great time to go somewhere. It's not, it's, It's a school and stuff. Well maybe you could think about going somewhere just the two of you next summer if you're able to go or you know, get extra tickets or whatever. But Like, I wanna go without you kids. And I'm like, and my kids are like, 00:31:45 you're gonna go somewhere. You're gonna leave us Go somewhere. Dare you. They'll be, I'll be fine. I say to them, yes, we wanna go on vacation without you. But my mom heart is like, I don't wanna go on vacation without you, but I'm never gonna tell them that. Well that would be an awesome goal to work towards to kind of help motivate you to stick to it and that would give you plenty of time to save up. 00:32:13 So, you know, another thing that I've talked about in past budget strategy sessions that you could go back and listen to is making a visual. I know we've talked about that inside the, the club. Yeah. So once you decide, you know, you could, especially summertime, you know, you can make a vision board of like where you're going, 00:32:30 what you wanna do and just kind of help keep yourself motivated. Another thing I'll tell you is to practice letting go and letting other people help you without it having to be perfect. And it's really hard and it's gonna take practice. I know I can see your face and you're like, I don't wanna do that. I, Ashley have tried this, I have tried this with my, 00:32:59 with the cleaning of my house. Like my kids are like, mom, can I get a, a cloth and like wash the walls? And normal moms would be like, heck yes, go do that. And me, I'm like, if you're gonna wash the wall, it needs to be done correctly. I'm gonna need you to make sure you get every single spot and da da da da like and do the floorboards and all the things because that's what I do. 00:33:17 Every once a week You do all the, I don't have time to do that. Once a week. A week I Do all that. Okay. And I clean my entire house once a week and I move furniture and I do all the Things. We're gonna have to talk about this cause this is a whole alert Conversation, little OCD there. So, 00:33:37 You know, I wanna teach my kids how to do these things but I'm having a hard time like letting them, I don't like to let them, I don't like them in, in a kitchen when I'm cooking because I get frustrated that they're in my way. Like all the things Because you're a perfectionist, which is anxiety related, but we'll, we'll have to have that conversation at a different Time. 00:33:57 Yes. You're so much like almost everybody else I have had on these budget strategy sessions. So I have talked about like these exact same things on those episodes as well. So you're gonna have to just go back and binge listen, we'll have to talk about it inside the club because we gotta work on it because it will, this is why You guys are my TRIBE. 00:34:16 You guys are my people. I found my people because you can all relate to me. This is why I love, I love our little group so much. Me too. Because I'm like, oh. Cause I'm the same way I Learned happy Yeah. With the kids and the having to do everything. That is something that I will say that I have worked on and greatly improved. 00:34:40 And I will tell you it is such a weight off of my shoulders in my mind. I have so many other things to worry about. And so we just gotta, we gotta work on getting you there too. And that will help cuz everything's related, which is why I'm bringing it up. It's all related to the finances and the stress and the, 00:34:59 the overwhelm that you are dealing with. It's not just the finances, it's everything together. And so that's, but it's mainly the finances That's I think at the core is the finances that is the core of it. And then, so that's just everything else just kind Of goes, piles on. Exactly. Exactly. So we're gonna get you there, but I appreciate you coming on the budget on the Money Mindset podcast for a budget strategy session. 00:35:26 And so your 24-hour thing, get a notebook, is that gonna be your 24 hour action step? Yep. So get a notebook. I have one. Right. Get ready. Awesome. So you're already already done. That's awesome. Right. Well I'll post it in our, I I'll post it in a picture of it in our group. Woo. 00:35:44 Yay. Yes. Is that what you want me to do? Yes, Yes, absolutely. Sure. Yep. And then we're, we're actually meeting tonight but, and we can talk about it then as well. So I appreciate you coming on. Do you have any questions before we wrap up here on the podcast? No, no. I just wanna say that another thing I wanna budget for is my annual now, 00:36:05 you know, cuz I just wanna stay in the budgets made easy groups. So you are in my budget for my annual things and also I'm, I eventually I'm gonna get into this one-on-one coaching thing. Cause I think that it's, once I get there, you know, I think it'd be super helpful For you. Oh, you too. I feel like it really would because I'm just sitting here thinking, 00:36:28 oh we could do this and this and this and I'm just Like, we Don't time right here to No, we don't have Right. No, It's like, yeah, I have a lot of ideas that I feel like would really benefit you. And of course like I said, we can chat about that more after. But yeah, the yes, I know you're feeling overwhelmed, 00:36:47 but I definitely see huge potential. Huge. You are gonna be such a success story and I, I just, I know it, it's not that I just think it or believe it, like I know it, you are going to do it a podcast for you feel All this from you and I know it. I'm gonna feel it and see it. 00:37:10 So no, I mean if I didn't, if I didn't believe that as well, like I would, you know, like I think that I've made changes since I have joined the budgets made easy, you know, been in our coaching group and, and all of that things have like, I've paid significant bills off already. I haven't really talked about it too much, 00:37:32 but like, just like, because they're not super significant. They're not like, you know, thousands of dollars, but they're little credit cards, little 300 credit cards here and there and you know, little things that You don't celebrate at all think About that you don't account for because you don't think of it, you know? Yeah, Exactly. Did I voluntarily wanna pay those things? 00:37:50 Probably not. But I am paying them and so if I, whether I'm doing it willingly or not, they're getting paid. Exactly. And that's a Win. We that's a celebrate It. Yes. Yes. So thank you so much for having me. I love it. I appreciate you always and I always look forward to all of our things that we do. 00:38:12 Me Too. I just, you're such a light in, in my life and the group and everything that I love having you here. So I'm glad you came on the podcast. So this is great. Thank you. You're welcome. Gina is one of my just all time favorite people as you can tell. She's so much fun to talk to. She's so down to earth and she just cracks me up every time I talk to her. 00:38:39 But you know, she's struggling with the perfectionism, which I totally get because you know, most of the people in Money Success Club are struggling with perfectionism and just learning to let things go because it's not worth the time and stress. So you can focus on the things that really matter. So I hope you were able to take something to start implementing and improve your finances from Gina's episode. 00:39:06 Now reminder, if you would like to have your own episode or have your own budget strategy session with me, go sign up and make sure you show up@budgetspeedeasy.com slash strategy.
