Daniel: Drum roll please. It's our top 10 favorite games of all time. On this episode of Board Game Faith, the bi-weekly show exploring the intersection of religion, spirituality, and board games. Hello everybody, welcome to this episode of Board Game Faith, and I am especially happy to say welcome back, Kevin, the question on every listener's heart from last time. How are you doing? You were sick last time. You couldn't be on the show. Kevin: I'm fine, but I've had some coughing issues. Blah. Daniel: I'm sorry about the Kevin: No, Daniel: coughing Kevin: I'm doing, Daniel: issues. Kevin: I think better. Daniel: Okay. Kevin: I know, it's so, yeah, it's so frustrating. Daniel: Yeah, Kevin: Coughing. Daniel: you sound like it really lingered and hung on a while there with you. Kevin: Yeah, I don't know how much of it is old age and asthma allergies or being puny. Um, I don't know, but yeah, this is this COVID thing was kind of rough, Daniel: Yeah, I'm Kevin: but Daniel: so Kevin: fortunately Daniel: sorry. Kevin: no fever and no hospitalizations, whatever, and I'm fully, you know, up on all my shots. Although weirdly they seem to wear off over time. So I don't Daniel: Right, Kevin: know. Daniel: right, yeah. Kevin: Science. So weird. Daniel: Ah, science is weird, man. Kevin: Why Daniel: Well, Kevin: can't I just take a pill? Daniel: I'm glad you're feeling mostly better and I hope that Kevin: Yeah, no, Daniel: any Kevin: I'm Daniel: lingering Kevin: fine. How Daniel: symptoms. Kevin: are you? Daniel: I'm doing fine, yeah, thank you. I'm doing well. Yeah, we are settling into our new home and new church and things are going fine. Like, like, um. so much of the world right now. It is very hot here, but it is very hot in many, many places Kevin: Yes, Daniel: right now. Kevin: yes, I bet it is, yeah. Daniel: But no, we're doing fine. Thank you. Kevin: Settling Daniel: Thank Kevin: into Daniel: you. Kevin: the new parsonage or vicarage or preacherage, they used to Daniel: Oh, Kevin: call it. I've heard of the preacherage. Daniel: did they used to call it a preacherage? Kevin: Some places did around here, they called it Daniel: Nice. Kevin: the preacherage. Daniel: Did Kevin: There's Daniel: you Kevin: even Daniel: know? Kevin: a teacherage where the teachers lived. Not very Daniel: I Kevin: creative Daniel: like that. Kevin: in Vance County, North Carolina. Daniel: I Kevin: The teacherage. Daniel: like that. Did they extend that? Like if you were a doctor, it'd be like a doctorage and a dentist, Kevin: I don't Daniel: a dentistage, Kevin: know. I don't know. I Daniel: a Kevin: guess Daniel: butcharage. Kevin: it was... I call my yard the grass ridge because it's where the grass grows. Daniel: I like it, I like it, I like it. The cheesemakerage, I like it. Kevin: Hehehehe Daniel: You know, we were in Ireland briefly, we did an exchange program with a Methodist minister in Ireland and we lived at their house and in Ireland they call the house where the pastor lives the manse. I thought that was kind of cool. We lived in the Kevin: That Daniel: Methodist Kevin: sounds Daniel: manse. Kevin: nice. Is it French? Daniel: Maybe, Kevin: Man, it's... Daniel: I don't know. Kevin: Whenever a vowel, whenever a letter is not pronounced, I'm suspicious. Daniel: Hmm, no, like a silent, even with a silent E, even if it's a silent Kevin: Yeah, Daniel: E at the end. Kevin: I'm suspicious. Yeah, already. Daniel: Okay. You think you Kevin: Could Daniel: already Kevin: be Daniel: think it's Kevin: French. Daniel: French. Okay. Kevin: Yes. Daniel: Well, Kevin: Fear of letters. Daniel: from this personage to that personage, I'm glad Kevin: Hey! Daniel: you're feeling better. I'm glad you're feeling it. So, Kevin: Yeah, Daniel: um, Kevin: me too. We had Daniel: the Kevinage. Kevin: a contest. Daniel: We did, Kevin: The cabinet. Daniel: we did. So Kevin: We had a contest. Daniel: we did. So, uh, our, um, Regular listeners may remember that we had a contest to celebrate a thousand followers on Instagram. And thank you so much to all of our amazing followers on Instagram. Sidebar, we're kind of approaching 1100 now. We're getting, we're getting really close to that. Um, but we had a contest where we asked people to, um, take a picture of themselves, uh, and some games that they like at, uh, their place of worship, however they wanted to define that, and to put on Instagram with the hashtag boardgamefaith. And then of all the entries, we were going to draw winners at random for four prizes, for four prizes. And so that's what we're going to do now. So we've got Kevin: Yeah, Daniel: four prizes. Kevin: and side note, Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: while the contest has ended, we still invite people to do that, and we'll be glad to repost or reply or highlight Daniel: Absolutely. Kevin: if you want to do hashtag board game faith and get an image of yourself in a board game at your place of worship. That would be awesome. Daniel: Please do, please do, yeah. And if you do that, yeah, like Kevin said, please be sure to include the hashtag and maybe even drop us a line to let us know you did it so we can go to Kevin: Right. Daniel: look for it. But that would be wonderful. Kevin: Call Daniel at the Mance also. Daniel: That's, that sounds, the Daniel-age. That sounds good, Kevin: The Danielidge. Daniel: that sounds good. That's, or the Kevin-age. Kevin: Kavanage. Daniel: So, prize number four. So this is our fourth place Kevin: So Daniel: and Kevin: excited. Daniel: this person's gonna win a mug. a board game faith mug. All Kevin: Like Daniel: right, Kevin: this Daniel: you ready? Kevin: one, but it has Daniel: Not Kevin: a, Daniel: that Kevin: yes, Daniel: one, Kevin: I'm Daniel: that's Kevin: ready. Daniel: right. But Kevin: Not Daniel: I Kevin: this Daniel: mean, Kevin: one. Daniel: it will look, it will be the same shape, but it will Kevin: It Daniel: have Kevin: will Daniel: a board Kevin: be Daniel: game Kevin: cylindrical. Daniel: faith. Look, for those of you who only listen to the audio, Kevin: It is not a polyhedron. Daniel: Kevin is holding up a standard coffee mug with no logo on it. It'll be like that, but with our logo on it. All right, you ready? I'm going to roll my virtual die. Let's find out who wins in fourth place, a coffee mug. It is CampingMeeple. CampingMeeple, Kevin: Camping meepo... ..ing. Daniel: woo! We will be contacting you to get you your Kevin: Thanks for watching. Daniel: board game faith coffee mug. Kevin, prize number two, the second place is our new logo T-shirt. Our new logo T-shirt. Are you excited? Kevin: I am, but I'm scared. Daniel: I'm excited. Okay, for those of you who don't know, we've kind of simplified our logo, tried to make it look a little bit more 2019. So anyway, we got it, we got it, we got it. So here we go. So second prize, new logo t-shirt. I gotta do it again. It goes to Gear Gaming on Instagram. Kevin: Gear Gaming. Daniel: It's Kevin: Excellent. Daniel: G-I-E-R-E-R underscore gaming, Gear Gaming. And they have Kevin: G-I-E-R. Daniel: a wonderful account, G-I-E-R-E-R. Kevin: Doodik. Okay, Daniel: It's this, Kevin: gotcha. Daniel: yeah, G-I-E-R-E-R, yep. Kevin: Right. Daniel: Underscore Gaming. And they also have a great account where they highlight a lot of board games. Congratulations, Gear Gaming. You get your new logo t-shirt. We'll be contacting you. And you know what that means. I'm going to do number one. Number one, number one is, Kevin: So scared. Daniel: is a t-shirt, a new logo t-shirt, and a choice, either a mug or the choice to record the intro to one of our episodes and help us plan an episode. or a hovercraft. Kevin: or full of eels. Daniel: hovercraft full of views. The last one was a silliness. But the first thing, the first choice is correct. Either, so you get a t-shirt and a mug or chance to record and to help us pick a topic for the intro. Here we go. The grand prize goes to... Okay, God, you again, okay. The grand prize goes to JT Alt Esq. That's J-T-A-U-L-T-E-S-Q. Okay, I think it stands for Esquire. So Kevin: a Daniel: congratulations. Kevin: Vital Lacerda fan if I've ever seen one. Daniel: I believe he is a Vital Asserta fan. So congratulations to JT Alt Esq, J-T-A-U-L-T-E-S-Q. Also on Instagram, also a great account to follow. You are the grand prize winner. and we will be contacting you about your t-shirt and your mug or recording intro and helping us plan an episode. That was awesome. Kevin: Awesome, awesome. That was all, yeah, this is Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: exciting. Daniel: Congratulations to all of our winners. Thanks to everyone for participating. And hopefully we'll do this again, maybe when we hit 2000 or something. Kevin: Yeah, Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: well, let's do it again, Daniel. Daniel: Okay, okay. Sounds good, sounds good. Kevin: I mean, you did all the work, so I'm always up for that. So now, Daniel, we're gonna move into another top 10. We've never done this before. The another is a reference to the fact that lots of channels and posters and folks like to make a top 10 list and you know, I have to admit, it's a little silly Daniel: Yeah, Kevin: because. Daniel: yeah. Kevin: It's really only based on your experiences, your memories, what you've played. There's so many great games out there. And why have I not played them? Because I didn't know anyone with it, because they didn't have it at my store, because I was a little short of change that month, et cetera. I didn't kickstart it. So it's really hard to definitively say what the best game is. And what are you going to base it on? Your memories, your feelings, number of plays, a certain metric. So it's fun to do. But Daniel: It is Kevin: I Daniel: fun Kevin: think Daniel: to do. Kevin: you got to take a little grain of salt. So we're doing another top 10, but we have a twist on it, Daniel. Daniel: Mm-hmm. Kevin: And our twist Daniel: What is this twist? Kevin: is, well, the twist is we're going to connect each of ours to a Bible verse from the Christian Bible or kind of like a spiritual idea or just something that we've ramrodded in, but we're going to try to give it a little oomph, right? Spiritual oomph. Daniel: or a Cat Stevens song. That's right, one or the other. Kevin: or a Cat Stevens sound. Daniel: Or, Kevin: Meow! Daniel: yeah. Yeah, I know that's a great twist. I like that twist, Kevin: Yeah, Daniel: it was good. Kevin: yeah. Daniel: So yeah, I'm excited to do it. And you're right, Kevin. I mean, we're saying these are our top 10 now. I know for me, if you ask me next week, I might give you a totally different top 10, Kevin: Correct! Daniel: but this is Kevin: Yes, Daniel: where my Kevin: yes. Daniel: heart is right now. So yeah, Kevin: It's so hard. Yeah. Daniel: yeah. Kevin: I mean, I have to admit some of these are just based on fond memories. Daniel: Yes, I'd say most of mine are. Kevin: Because I've got a legacy game in here, right? Correct, correct. Daniel: Yeah, Kevin: And Daniel: yeah. Kevin: I got a legacy game in here. I'm never going to play it again. Well, I shouldn't say never. I could. But it's very unlikely I'll ever play it again. But it's still, you know, it just has a special, it's just that thing. Daniel: Absolutely, Kevin: That je Daniel: yeah. Kevin: ne sais quoi, right? Yep. Daniel: And that is a valid reason to include Candy Land Legacy on the list. Kevin: I know, the sticker. Daniel: The twist, Kevin: The Donut of Doom, that really was very terrifying. Daniel: it was, yeah, I know. And then, yeah, when the board explodes Kevin: It works. Daniel: in the 12th season, it was amazing. Kevin: In your mouth because you eat it because it's Daniel: That's Kevin: candy. Daniel: right, that's right. That's Kevin: It's like a pop rocket's Daniel: right. Kevin: candy. Daniel: The board, twist. The board has been candy all along. and you never knew. So, yeah, well, how about I can begin with my number 10 and we'll go to Kevin: Okay, Daniel: you, we'll go back and forth. Kevin: let's hear Daniel: All right, Kevin: it at number 10. Daniel: you ready? My number 10 favorite games of all time at this moment is Codenames. And the reason I like codenames so much, I have a word for each one too, and the word for this one is community, because Kevin: Hmm. Daniel: I don't think I have any other game that brings together, that has brought together so many people from such diverse backgrounds as codenames. What I love about it is, like, gamers really like it, and non-gamers really like it too. I Kevin: Mm-hmm. Daniel: have used this often with my coworkers at church. many of whom are not co-gamers and they love it. So it fosters this sense of community. So the scripture in the Christian edition, I link it to is 1 Corinthians 12 or Romans 12, which is this whole idea about, you know, we're all members of the body of Christ. We have a lot of different roles. And so we can come to games from a lot of perspectives, but it's great at creating the sense of a body of a community. My number 10, code names. Kevin: Your choice is a great one and it's noble and now I feel terrible. Daniel: Oh, now yours will be even nobler! Kevin: Oh no, I hate it. Daniel: I can feel it already! The nobility waves are coming through the screen! I'm getting nobility Kevin: Alright, Daniel: waves suntan! Kevin: my number 10 is just another stupid victory point space game, but I still love it. It's Dune Imperium. Number 10 Dune Imperium. Daniel: Nice. Kevin: And I like it. Everyone that's ever played it really enjoys it. It's got this, I call it a three ring circus where you've got to kind of look at different, there's like a little battle bit over here, but there's a advancing up this chart. thing and but that neither one is necessarily how you're gonna win like that you have to keep an eye on a lot of different stuff and I connected it to Matthew 25 gospel Matthew 25 where Jesus teaches about the talents and the one who had received the five talents came forward and his master said well done you have been trustworthy with a few things so can you take your talents and magnify them Daniel: I like it. I Kevin: make Daniel: like it. Kevin: more points yeah can you Daniel: I Kevin: generate Daniel: like it. Kevin: more points which Daniel: I Kevin: really Daniel: think. Kevin: that scripture would apply to any euro Daniel: But it's, but it applies to this hero in this case. That's a great Kevin: Yes, and Daniel: one. Kevin: the Daniel: I Kevin: reason Daniel: like it. Kevin: it does is because I picked it. Yes, Daniel: Exactly. Kevin: number 10. Yes. Daniel: I like Kevin: Okay, Daniel: it. Very good. Kevin: okay. Have you tried Tune Imperium? Have you played Daniel: I have, Kevin: it yet? Daniel: I have. And Kevin: It's Daniel: I like Kevin: good, Daniel: it. Kevin: it's Daniel: I Kevin: good. Daniel: played it at a geek way in St. Kevin: Oh Daniel: Louis. Kevin: wow, Daniel: It was Kevin: and you get Daniel: an Kevin: the Daniel: excellent Kevin: card drafting Daniel: game. Kevin: too. Yeah, there's Daniel: Yeah, Kevin: a lot of, Daniel: yeah, Kevin: it's Daniel: yeah. Kevin: like a mashup of a Daniel: And Kevin: bunch Daniel: a little Kevin: of Daniel: bit Kevin: different Daniel: of work Kevin: things. Daniel: replacement too, right? Kind of, yeah. Kevin: And work Daniel: Which, Kevin: replacement, yeah. It's Daniel: yeah. Kevin: like, I wanna staple all these things together. And it's just fun. Daniel: It works. Kevin: Arc Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: Nova's like that too, to be honest. Daniel: Good Kevin: It feels Daniel: choice. Kevin: like a lot Daniel: Good Kevin: of Daniel: choice. Kevin: things connect. Thanks, thanks. Daniel: And Kevin: What's your Daniel: in Kevin: number? Daniel: gate scripture. Kevin: What's your number, Nueve? Daniel: Number nine, number nine, Kevin: 10 minus one, here it Daniel: nuff. Kevin: comes. Daniel: You might think that this would be higher on me, on my list based on previous conversations, Kevin, but my list really is largely sentimental value games. Number nine for me is Brass Birmingham. Kevin: Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Daniel: Brass Birmingham is number nine. And my word I have connected with that is Marvel. And what I, not like the comics, but kind of marveling at something, because what I love about Brass Birmingham is, it's, when I play it, I feel like I'm, I am interacting with this intricate, cleverly balanced, beautiful machine, right? And like every little piece leads to this, and this fits in that way, and that fits in this way, and that fits, and so complex and intricate and beautiful. And I love it. You know, there's just a certain joy in, maybe the same kind of thing like working with like model trains or kind of like, you know, like miniature houses Kevin: Mm-hmm. Daniel: or something. It's just this, there's a certain delight in these little, in these intricate, complex, well-thought out machines and seeing how they work. And that game feels like that to me. The scripture made me think of is Psalm eight, in which the psalmist says, you know, when I consider the work of your hands, you know, the skies and you know, that just the sense Kevin: Ah. Daniel: of seeing um, the, uh, the, and marveling at the world around us and just finding Kevin: Mm-hmm. Daniel: delight in that. And so that's, uh, that was the scripture that came to mind when I thought about Brass Birmingham, my number nine. Kevin: It's a great choice. Classic game. Daniel: Thank you. How about you? Number nine. Kevin: My number nine, and I picked this just because I've really excited as I got it recently and been playing it, is Nicaea. And this is kind of an indie game. It's a small publisher and they kind of say, like you order it and it takes them two weeks because they have to kind of print it and ship it to you. Daniel: That's Kevin: But Daniel: amazing. Kevin: it is kind of a little bit of a sarcastic game because it's making fun of church councils. Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: But I still like what it's doing and it's made me think a lot, so I really appreciate that. So, Nicea by Hollenspiel, which ironically is in Michigan. That's a bit of a joke there. Like Daniel: I Kevin: they've Daniel: like it. Kevin: started a company that sounds like it's in Europe, but it's not. So, that tells Daniel: I like Kevin: you Daniel: it. Kevin: about the ethic of Amabel Holland, Daniel: I like it. Kevin: which Daniel: I like, Kevin: is Daniel: that's Kevin: kind Daniel: a great Kevin: of just Daniel: choice. Kevin: like, liking to be kind of funky. Yeah, so Nicea I think makes fun in some ways of Pharisees, like, people with the religious authority that sometimes are only there for the power. Daniel: Right. Kevin: So Mark 3, 1 to 2, when Jesus enters the synagogue and a man with a withered hand and the Pharisees watched him to see if he would cure him on the Sabbath. So they might accuse him. So the Bible kind of follows how some people in power seek only to control and crush. And I see as a nice reminder. Daniel: How cool to have a game that explores that. A very real Kevin: It's, yeah, Daniel: aspect of religion. Kevin: I'm excited. Daniel: Yeah, Kevin: Yeah, Daniel: yeah, that's Kevin: yeah, Daniel: so true. Kevin: and sadly Daniel: Good, Kevin: enough, but Daniel: yeah. Kevin: like any institution, it is Daniel: True, Kevin: open Daniel: true. Kevin: to the whims and powers of the human heart. So yeah, number nine, Nice See Ya. Daniel: Amen to that, bro. Yeah, good job. Kevin: Yep. Daniel: Excellent choice. And we've had a couple guests say what a great game that is. I think it's awesome that you got it. I'd love to try. We need to get together and play it Kevin: We're gonna play Daniel: sometime. Kevin: it, yeah. Daniel: We'll take the BGF hovercraft and meet. Kevin: I gotta get the eels out first. Daniel: Get the eels out first. Kevin: LARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARARAR Daniel: If JT old esc decides not to take the hovercraft option with eels. All right. Kevin: Just sloshing around up there. Daniel: That's right, that's right. All right, number eight number eight Kevin: Number eight. Daniel: my number eight favorite game of all time is Clans of Caledonia Clans of Caledonia, I love Clans of Caledonia. Kevin: never Daniel: I think Kevin: played Daniel: I've Kevin: this. Daniel: played it most as a solo game It's an excellent solo game. But beyond that it's just a really great game it kind of has a vibe like Gaia Project or... Oh my goodness, I can't remember the name of the game that Gaia Project is based on, the fantasy Kevin: Terra Mystica. Daniel: game. Terra Mystica, that's it. It has kind of a vibe like that, but set in rural Scotland, and you're a farmer and try to... But what I love about it is, I feel really powerful in that game. I feel like everything I can do just has these really far-reaching implications. And my sense of power kind of agency is my word for this, kind of compounds as the game goes on. And so what that made me think about was 2nd Timothy 1,7 where the author says, you know, God's not giving us a spirit of cowardice, but a spirit of, among other things, power. And it gives me a good sense of power, a sense of power in a good way. Not in the abusive way that the Pharisees were doing, like you just mentioned, Kevin: Screw Daniel: but Kevin: those Daniel: in like, Kevin: guys. Daniel: in like power in like making the world a better place and making more whiskey. Pfft. Ha ha ha. In Clans Kevin: Because Daniel: of Kevin: that's Daniel: Caledonia. Kevin: the real power. Daniel: That's, at least that's what you do in Clans of Caledonia. Yeah. So. Kevin: Right. I just side note that agency is such a great theme. And I just listened to Azure client podcast from Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: several years ago when they interviewed the guy that wrote games as agency. And that was really interesting Daniel: Oh, we need to... Kevin: how games give you this sense of agency Daniel: I wouldn't hear Kevin: and real. Daniel: that. Kevin: Well, it's real agency that lets you explore it. So interesting. Yeah. Daniel: I want Kevin: He Daniel: to Kevin: would really jive Daniel: hear Kevin: with Daniel: that. Kevin: what you just said. Daniel: Cool. Thank you. So Kevin: Yeah. Daniel: that's my number eight. How about you? Kevin: Awesome. Number eight for me, Pax Premier, second edition, because... It really gives you a sense of the rise of power and empires, and of course the Old Testament and the Bible is really historical and mentions names and places that we don't know anything about. They're just bits of ancient history. So the rise and fall of empires and kingdoms and places and peoples, I think, is really cool for historical sense. So the one I did pick is 2 Chronicles 21.1. Jehoshaphat, which is Daniel's favorite Old Testament person, if I recall correctly. Jehoshaphat. Daniel: I, it is, it is. Kevin: Yes. I wonder what they really called him, because you know his mom didn't say Jehoshaphat. That's four syllables. Daniel: I'm thinking that's just his nickname. I think they just recorded Kevin: You Daniel: his nickname. Kevin: think it was longer? Daniel: I think his full name was Jehoshaphateterium Bergemeister Kevin: Buh-mmm. Daniel: Sunville. Kevin: Of course. Daniel: The Kevin: And Daniel: third. Kevin: those sound like very good Hebrew names too. Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: Son and vill are, yeah exactly. Uh, that Jehoshaphat slept with his ancestors and was buried with his ancestors in the city of David. His son Jehoram, three syllables, Jehoram succeeded him. So that Daniel: Hmm Kevin: sense of the succession of powers is of politics. Yeah. That's my number eight. What? Daniel: I, Kevin: Y'all? Daniel: you're picking games that like, like say meaningful things too. I like your games, Kevin. Like these are games that have meaningful messages Kevin: Aww, Daniel: too. So good. Kevin: not doing Imperium. Daniel: Well, what the last Kevin: Only Daniel: two. Kevin: message there is win. Daniel: And, and, and beware of giant desert worms. Yeah. Kevin: Yeah, yeah. I mean if I was on that bus I would just be like next stop please, Daniel: Yeah, Kevin: not getting Daniel: yeah, Kevin: off here. Daniel: no. Kevin: That's really the message of Star Wars and Dune is avoid sand planets if at all possible. Yeah. Daniel: It's a good point. Yeah, unless you're like. unless you like sand. Kevin: And what mammal does? Are there mammals? I Daniel: Um... Kevin: mean, I know they live there, but I bet they hate it. Daniel: The sand weasel? Kevin: Yeah, there are sand cats out there. Daniel: Is there a sand weasel? Kevin: I think there is a cat that lives out there. Daniel: A sane cat. Okay, I like it. So that was good. Good choice, good choice. All right, Kevin: Yeah, thanks Daniel: some Kevin: man. Daniel: number seven. My number seven is Caverna. Caverna, the Uwe Kevin: I just Daniel: Rosenberg Kevin: haven't played this one either. Daniel: game of where you are, you're doing two things. You are farming. This was the follow-up to Agricola. You're farming outside of the mountains, but inside of the mountains, you're also hollowing out caves and mining coal and rubies. and you're building houses where you can have families inside of the mountains. And I just love it, because for me, imagination is my word for this one. I love imagining that I am mining for rubies and clearing out caves and planting fields. And it's a nice way of representing all of that in the game. And the scripture that it makes me think of is just the entire book of Jonah. Because the entire book of Jonah is such an imaginative, delightful work. And you know, you say, I'm swallowed by a whale, and then Kevin: Mm-hmm. Daniel: there's a worm that comes and eats the tree, and the worm is a secret agent of God, and oh, the cows need to repent, so the cows need to put on sackcloth. Kevin: Mm-hmm. Daniel: And it's just, there's this wonderful, kind of giddy, delightful creative imaginative air throughout the book of Jonah. kind of the feel I play I experience when I play games like caverna, which is I just you can it's a very imaginative game and I enjoy Kevin: Hmm. Daniel: it which is why my number seven is caverna Kaverna. Kevin: that I've got to. What's up with the rubies? Is that like the first bling and wealth? Daniel: Uh, it's been a while since I've played them, but I know I think you can use Kevin: like Daniel: rubies, Kevin: thematically. Daniel: you, you spend them. You get certain special Kevin: Okay. Daniel: things with the rubies. You can get it. You can mine rubies. They're, they're rare. You can mind out of the mountains, or I think you can also get them as rewards for going on adventures, but then you Kevin: Hmm. Daniel: use the rubies to, it helps you buy other things. Kevin: right. Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: They were too lazy to make coinage, so they just went with rupees. Daniel: They didn't want to do coinage. They were like rubies Kevin: Gotcha. Daniel: or nothing. Kevin: We couldn't decide who to put whose face... We couldn't decide whose face to put on the coins, so we just went with Ruby's. Is that okay, Chief? Daniel: It's exactly Kevin: That's Daniel: right. Kevin: okay. Daniel: Yeah. Yeah, that's Kevin: That's Daniel: right. Kevin: awesome. Daniel: And they've got little Ruby credit cards too that you Kevin: MX Ruby edition. Daniel: It's yeah Kevin: $500,000 spinning limit. Daniel: So what's your number seven? Kevin: Number seven for me, and here's the game that I mentioned earlier, the game based only on the fondest of memories, yet forever it shall reign. Pandemic Legacy Season 1. So good, so good. Daniel: Good, good. Kevin: And the theme here kind of survive at any cost. And I got to thinking there's actually several scriptures about survival, including the Book of Esther, which, Daniel: Oh yeah! Kevin: you know, Daniel: That's Kevin: is in Daniel: good! Kevin: the course the Hebrew Bible and in the Christian Bible, the Old Testament Daniel: Yeah? Kevin: for us. And in that, it's the idea that Esther has to save the Jews, save her people. Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: And it's got... Yeah, yeah. I think that I'll leave it. Esther86. It's got some real chilling moments to it, but Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: there it says, for how can I bear to see the calamity that is coming on my people? Or how can I bear to see the destruction of my kindred? So she'll do anything to save her people. And I shouldn't say anything, but she'll go pretty far. And I think that's awesome. Daniel: Kevin, Kevin: Survival. Daniel: you're so good. Kevin: What? Daniel: At the beginning of this, you were like, oh, your selections, Dan, are so good. And then you're like, each level's game is like digging Kevin: No! Daniel: into the meaning of life and these geopolitical realities. And anyway, I'm impressed. I like it. Esther's great. Kevin: It's Daniel: That's Kevin: called Daniel: great. Kevin: being part-time employed, Daniel. Daniel: I'm like, no, it's good, it's Kevin: I'm Daniel: good. Kevin: only part-time. Daniel: But Kevin: I Daniel: you're Kevin: have Daniel: a Kevin: time Daniel: full-time, Kevin: to dream and drive my children to events. Daniel: you're a full-time awesome person. Yeah. Kevin: Please. Uh, Daniel: Alright. Kevin: guess number Daniel: Number six. Kevin: six? Okay. Daniel: Pardon me, I gotta take Kevin: My Daniel: a drink Kevin: list Daniel: of water. Kevin: is ordered backwards. Like... It there's a trick in If you don't mind it getting too nerdy There's a trick and markdown where you just put numbers and it'll just auto number the list But Daniel: Oh. Kevin: it's always gonna go one two, three, four, five six seven eight nine ten Daniel: Oh, I see, I see. Kevin: Like Daniel: So. Kevin: it'll just make the numbers the order like you don't ever have to fix the numbers. Does that make sense? Daniel: Okay, right, right. Kevin: Like you can cut and paste and have them out of order. But then when you show it Anyway, it's just to say my numbers are backwards Daniel: But the first one we heard from you, that was your number 10, that wasn't your number one. Kevin: It is, except for on my list it's number one. Daniel: Right, I get it. I get it. That Kevin: Like Daniel: makes Kevin: I Daniel: sense. Kevin: can't Daniel: Sure. Kevin: reverse count. Help me. So Daniel: Oh, you're Kevin: I'm Daniel: good. Kevin: hoping I don't get it wrong. Number Daniel: Number Kevin: six. Daniel: six. Number six for me is my favorite Roll and Write game. Kevin: Candyland. Pleat the Daniel: Fleet Kevin: dice game. Daniel: the Dice Game. Kristen and I both love this game. It's a great game where you're rolling dice Kevin: I've never Daniel: and then Kevin: played this one. Daniel: marking on a sheet and you are sending out fishing fleets to fish for tuna and swordfish and shrimp. And then you're also kind of building up things on land in the little fishing village. It's a great game. And what I like about it is, they're also like no bad decisions. Like whatever you do in that game will get Kevin: Hmm. Daniel: you some other bonus. It's like a bonus, bonus salad kind of thing. Like so many good rolling rights do. Like Hadrian's Wall often does that too, for example. And so like everything leads to the sense of abundance in this game. There's a sense of abundance. So that makes me think about... I think about the Sermon on the Mount, Matthew 5 through 7, you know, where Kevin: ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Daniel: Jesus talks about, you know, consider the lilies and the birds, and they don't care about life, and they got everything they need. And that's kind of the similar sense of abundance in this game. It's like, no matter Kevin: Mm-hmm. Daniel: what you do, there are just bonuses all around, and it's awesome. Just Kevin: Right. Daniel: this abundance of bonus. So that's why I love Fleet of the Nice game. That's my number six. Kevin: like a little child like ooh a yellow ball ooh Daniel: That's Kevin: a Daniel: right. Kevin: blue ball Daniel: That's right. Kevin: ooh Daniel: That's Kevin: a butterfly Daniel: right. Yeah. Kevin: yeah that's great well I had to sigh because you just said something what other game did you just say Daniel: Hadrian's wall. Is that your number six? Kevin: That's my number six, Hatred's Daniel: Oh, Kevin: Wall, but we were Daniel: great, Kevin: thinking the same way. Yes, Daniel: great. Yay, that's Kevin: number, Daniel: awesome. Kevin: no, that's so funny. We were thinking Daniel: That's great. Kevin: along the same lines. I don't have, I've never played Fleet, the dice game. I need to check it out, but I love Hatred's Wall, and if you've bought it, you know, it comes with a big stack of, right? Daniel: Yeah, Kevin: It's a Daniel: yeah, Kevin: solo Daniel: I have Kevin: game. Daniel: it. It's a great game. Kevin: I've Daniel: Yeah, Kevin: almost, Daniel: yeah. Kevin: I thought you did, I've almost used them all up. Daniel: Wow, Kevin: That's how Daniel: that's Kevin: much Daniel: amazing. Kevin: I have played it. Daniel: That's Kevin: They're Daniel: amazing. Kevin: yeah, and it's just a great game and as you say it you feel like everything is fun and interesting and testing Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: So it's great. So I did this as kind of a cat but partly because I've been playing there is online a Campaign type thing where you try to meet certain goals Which is part of why I have played it so much as I'm determined to win. I'm really not good at it. So Calculate the cost and win the battle I found first Samuel 23 5 which talks about how David was such a great warrior Daniel: Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Kevin: So David and his men went to Kaila Kisha the singer Kaila key Daniel: I think Keisha is in the Bible, Kesha. Kevin: I think she is in the Bible Daniel: I Kevin: Kesha Daniel: think she is, yeah. Kevin: kiss Kesha Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: Went to there and fought with the Philistines and brought away their livestock and dealt them a heavy defeat So you Daniel: Hmm. Kevin: kind of had that sense of really wanting to do combos and be a great strategist, which Daniel Daniel: Mmm. Kevin: was. He was kind of a jerk too. But Daniel: Me and David? Kevin: you can't have it all. Daniel: Or David? Yes. Kevin: I did. Yeah, sorry. Ooh, Daniel: No, Kevin: Freudian Daniel: no, it's good. Kevin: slip. Daniel: It's Kevin: No, Daniel: good. Kevin: David, Daniel: It's good. Kevin: I did. Did I say Daniel the whole time? Daniel: No, no, you said David. It's just Daniel at the end. It was good. Kevin: I did, I did, Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: I did. Yes, yes, Daniel: No, Kevin: sorry Daniel: no, you're Kevin: David, Daniel: good. Kevin: David. Daniel: You're good. No, it's all good. Kevin: Daniel was a strategist too. He's like, I'll just get in the furnace. Daniel: That's my, yes, Kevin: Yes. Daniel: go to the fire. Kevin: Go Daniel: I like Kevin: to the Daniel: it. Kevin: fire. The moth to the flame. Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: Yes, yes, King David, a great strategist, Daniel: Great, Kevin: but Daniel: great Kevin: not always Daniel: scripture Kevin: a great Daniel: and Kevin: guy. Daniel: great choice. Kevin: Thank you, thank Daniel: Hater Kevin: you. Daniel: and swall, I like it. I like how Kevin: Number Daniel: both, Kevin: five. Daniel: how our Roll and Write, our Roll and Write's both occupied Kevin: That is funny. Daniel: space Kevin: Yeah, Daniel: number Kevin: we Daniel: six. Kevin: did not, we didn't Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: coordinate this at all, I promise. Daniel: I'm guessing there's gonna be no, maybe one crossover. I'm guessing there's one crossover between our lists, but I'm Kevin: who Daniel: just throwing that out there. We'll see, maybe, we'll see. Okay, Kevin: monopoly Daniel: you ready? Monopoly, that's right. Missouri edition. Five. Five, my number five is, oh, this is another dear one to my wife and me, a roll for the galaxy. Roll for the galaxy, my number five. And the word I have with connect with this one is senses. It's just kind of a feast for the senses. You've got these big chunky dice. You got a mountain of chunky dice and... Who doesn't like a mountain of chunky dice, right? And you just throw these chunky dice and they're all these bright colors and they have all these interesting pictures on them and the tiles have interesting pictures of them, of alien worlds. And just such, it's a delightful game for the senses. Plus I've got such wonderful memories of playing it with Kristen. It reminds me, so the scripture, see, I'm not quoting my scripture like you are. You're another reason you're doing such a great job. Kevin: I'm at a Baptist church, Daniel, but it's Daniel: And Kevin: okay. Daniel: why did I say, by contrast, on the Methodist Church, it's like, Kevin: Dana had to look for a Bible in his church. He couldn't find Daniel: yeah, Kevin: one. Daniel: you know that chapter in Genesis. It basically says, yeah, be nice. So Kevin: Chapter Daniel: yeah, so Genesis, Kevin: 64 or something, Daniel: that's Kevin: I don't Daniel: right, Kevin: know. Daniel: that's right. So I'm thinking of Genesis one, the creation story, Kevin: Okay. Daniel: which just talks about God being pleased and delighting in all of the, Kevin: Right. Daniel: the beauties of creation, the beauty of creation. And so I feel like any game that appeals to the senses like that is really great for helping us do something similar, kind of celebrating creation. So. Kevin: That's a theme for you, is really this delight. You really want something that kind of revs up your engine, don't you? Which I think is awesome. Daniel: I do. Oh, well, thanks. Thanks. Yeah, Kevin: Yeah. Daniel: I love games just, yeah, just for the delight they give just enough themselves, you know, just like, Kevin: Mm-hmm. Daniel: yeah, just the colors and the feels and the sounds and the, Kevin: Yeah, because you Daniel: yeah, Kevin: said that Daniel: all Kevin: about Daniel: of that. Kevin: Brass Birmingham and you said it about Fleet and now you're saying it. Yeah, yeah, you like Daniel: Okay, Kevin: that Daniel: well, thanks. Kevin: explosion of awesomeness. Yeah, that's all that I get it. I get it. Daniel: Well, thanks. I think. Kevin: Magic moment. Daniel: Thank you, thank you. Yeah. All right. So that's my number five. How about you? Kevin: I went with Wayfarers of the South Tigris, which I broke out recently and it's just so fun. It's great. Daniel: Nice. Kevin: And in that you're explorers Daniel: Nice. Kevin: out of Iraq, right? In the Middle Ages, Iraq, Daniel: Maybe, Kevin: I think. Daniel: maybe, yeah. Kevin: And you're exploring, I think so, because you're with Baghdad, and Daniel: Okay. Kevin: you're doing a tableau and you're looking for land and sea and stars and vistas and things. So I went with Proverbs 12.1. Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but those who hate Daniel: Ahhhh. Kevin: to be rebuked are stupid. The S-word, stupid. So this love Daniel: Oh. Kevin: of knowledge. And in Wayfarers, you are going out and seeking knowledge because for Christians and Muslims and Jews, well, really any decent human being, the world is a place of grandeur. And then for religious folks, it's a place of God's splendor. Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: And so you want to, you want to... explore it. Daniel: Yeah, yeah. I love it, I love it. That's... Your games do have a nice historical theme. I'm noticing that, that's cool. Kevin: I guess Daniel: I Kevin: so. Daniel: like it, I like it all. Kevin: We should do a post show where we just analyze each other's choices Daniel: We Kevin: and Daniel: should. Kevin: offer free therapy. Daniel: I like it, I like it. And comment on Kevin: comment on. Daniel: our clothing. I like it, that's Kevin: Right. Daniel: good, that's good. Except Kevin: Yeah. Daniel: your clothing is great. All right, Kevin: Thank Daniel: here we go. Kevin: you. You look wonderful. Daniel: Thank you, I'm trying to. Rise to your bar. Kevin: Hmm. Daniel: Thank you for that, I appreciate it. Number four, number four. This is the push your luck game on my list, though I didn't do this by categories, but just happens to be a push your luck game. Port Royal, Kevin: Hmm. Daniel: Port Royal. Kevin: I don't know any of these games. Daniel: It's a small box Alexander Pfister game. He did it before he did all these other big games. It's one of his earliest games. Push your luck, again, this game I've just had. so much fun with both in the family but at church groups too. And it's Kevin: Mm-hmm. Daniel: got a really strong push your luck game sense where you're doing cards and you don't want to wipe out but you get a better chance of doing things more the more cards you get out. Kevin: Mm-hmm. Daniel: And you know we talked about this on our push your luck episode, so kind of recycling a little bit, but you know what I like about push your luck games is they're a safe place to practice taking risks, right? Kevin: Right. Daniel: And what that makes me, you know, think about is, you know, the ideal that you often hear about in like Psalm 23 is, you know, the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want to walk, even though I walk through the valley, the shadow of death, I will not fear. Right. And that's so comforting to so many people, including to me, at least for me, because, you know, because I know the truth is often different, right. I often, I often do fear, right. Kevin: Hmm. Daniel: I'm afraid a fair amount of my life. And I think that's one reason that that Psalm 23 is so inspiring, but Kevin: Mm-hmm. Daniel: also it's why I like push or let games, right? Because it's a safe place where I can practice taking risks and learning that the world doesn't explode when I take risks. Kevin: Right, right. Daniel: So that's Kevin: And Daniel: my number four. Kevin: a side note, I love what it does to the other players because whenever anyone takes a crazy chance, everyone gets real excited. Because Daniel: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Kevin: if you win, I mean, they may be a little jealous, but they're also just like, wow, that's crazy that you hit that number. And if you lose, it's kind of funny. So it also Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: creates some comical moments that is, yeah. It's like, you're gonna go, you're gonna double? You're Daniel: Yeah, Kevin: gonna go again? Daniel: yeah, Kevin: Yeah, I Daniel: that's Kevin: like Daniel: very Kevin: that, I like Daniel: true. Kevin: that. Daniel: That's true. I thought about that, you're right. Even without direct player interaction in push or let games, there is player interaction because everybody Kevin: Mm-hmm. Daniel: gets emotionally invested in what's happening. Kevin: Yeah, Daniel: Yeah, that's Kevin: I Daniel: great. Kevin: partly Daniel: I like that. Kevin: think of that because my youngest child is definitely the take the chance kind of guy. He's going Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: to totally careen into one in five hundred chance of tripling your money. He's going to, Daniel: Right. Kevin: he'll take that role. Daniel: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Kevin: And it's kind of, we've seen it and it's kind of hilarious. And you know, sometimes he wins. Daniel: sometimes Kevin: You Daniel: it Kevin: never Daniel: pays Kevin: know. Daniel: off. Kevin: Yes, sometimes it works. Yes, for me... Number four is one I need to get back to working on because I've yet to win it. It is Frostpunk, the board game. Daniel: Ah. Kevin: So again, it's this survival idea. What must we Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: do to survive? And I went to Joseph in Genesis 50. Joseph says to his brothers, I am about to die, but God will surely come to you and bring you out of this land to the land that he swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. So it's this idea again of survival. Daniel: Hmm. Kevin: Because Daniel: That's Kevin: Joseph Daniel: great. Kevin: gets them into Egypt and manages to help them survive and then it says they're eventually going to survive and go back home. And Daniel: Mmm. Kevin: Frostpunk's about survival of civilization and what will you do to survive? Daniel: Mm. Civilizations and history and survival. Kevin: I Daniel: I love Kevin: do, I Daniel: these Kevin: do, Daniel: themes Kevin: I guess. Daniel: in your game. Kevin: And losing, that's another Daniel: And losing. Kevin: theme for me. I really like Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: games that I consistently lose. Daniel: Hehehehe Kevin: Did I tell you the last time Cameron and I played Frostpunk, and it's a co-op game, we lost really on like two points. I mean, it was like three hour game, and you're just Daniel: Wow. Kevin: like, oh. Yeah, Daniel: Oh, that's, uh, I could Kevin: but Daniel: feel Kevin: that's Daniel: the Kevin: how Daniel: pain. Kevin: it goes. Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: We're so close. But we are getting, the other beautiful thing is we are getting better at the game. So it definitely Daniel: Cool. Kevin: teaches you. If you're paying attention, you will get better, but you just have to have a lot of staying power. Daniel: when you replay it, will it be substantially different or is it kind of the similar game every time you Kevin: It Daniel: replay Kevin: has Daniel: it? Kevin: multiple scenarios and so Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: I was kind of saying hey, we're close enough. Let's go to the next scenario, but he wants to Really finish it, but it's got a few different setup and things for I know it's got maybe five scenarios to it Daniel: Okay. Kevin: So we've played the first scenario seven times It's kind of embarrassing but someone else in BGG said that too that the ninth the ninth time you play it you win Daniel: Everything Kevin: So you get a lot of mileage out of this Daniel: the Kevin: game. Daniel: ninth Kevin: I Daniel: play makes it worth it Kevin: guess, yes. Daniel: That's true. Kevin: Anyway, I warned Daniel: I like Kevin: you Daniel: it Kevin: not to get bogged down in these, which I have promptly done. So that's, Daniel: No, you're good. Kevin: obviously, like any good sermon, it was actually self-criticism. So we must move on, Daniel. Daniel: I think Kevin: No, Daniel: you're doing Kevin: I'm Daniel: fine. You're doing fine. Kevin: not, Daniel: Number three, Kevin: I'm not. Number three. Daniel: number three for me is Bunny Kingdom. Again, just a great, again, great memories with my family, Kevin: Hmm. Daniel: with Kristen especially, but also family. We played this with other people and they always enjoy it. Everybody's really surprised how good this game is. Kevin: Mm-hmm. Daniel: I think it sounds like maybe not necessarily the most interesting game, but it's a really good game by Richard Garfield Who's you know has this great pedigree Kevin: Yeah. Daniel: of wonderful games that he's made and my scripture is Zechariah 17 for everybody loves bunnies I Made that up. I made up that whole thing. No my Kevin: They'll Daniel: so what Kevin: think. Daniel: it what it what it what it makes me think of is Kind of a little bit related to what you're saying, kind of defining our own goals. And Kevin: Mm-hmm. Daniel: because that's one thing I love about it is there's a standard way for everybody to score. But there's also a secret way for everybody to score Kevin: Mm-mm. Daniel: where you get your own objective cards. But you're drafting them all through the game. And so, I mean, if you wanted to, you could draft 20, 30 objective cards. And so and nobody knows what they are. And so you're scoring at the end in these ways that nobody... saw. And I just I love the symbolism of that, of kind of the importance of kind of defining for yourself what a successful life looks like, right? What an effective life looks like, what a faithful life looks like, defining your own goals for yourself. And what it reminds me of is 1 Corinthians 1, where the Apostle Paul, ancient Christian writer who wrote many books in the Bible, where he contrasts foolishness and wisdom, right? And he's saying that that the foolishness of God is greater than human wisdom, right? Is wiser than human wisdom. And, and, and explain this idea that what, what may appear to be foolishness to others may often be wisdom. And, and Kevin: Ooh, Daniel: I think that Kevin: that's Daniel: can, Kevin: a good one, yeah. Daniel: makes me think about kind of these goals that it can, it can be, I might try to, I might be trying to build a bunny outpost in all the four corners of the board, and that's just a silly thing to do. Why would you do that? But I've got this. It looks foolish, but I've Kevin: Right. Daniel: got the secret objective to do it. Right. And so there's actually Kevin: What's Daniel: wisdom Kevin: he doing Daniel: in it. Kevin: in there? Daniel: That's right. Kevin: What's he building Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: in there? That's Daniel: So Kevin: awesome. Daniel: that's my number three, bunny kingdom. Kevin: Bunny Kingdom. Number three for me, it's another one that I really need to set out and play. It's got a range at Twilight Imperium fourth edition. I've Daniel: Nice. Kevin: never played any other edition and this is based on good memories because we just had a lot of fun with this game. And this game can get really nerdy if you want to get... tough on the battles, et cetera. We've taken a lighter touch, which I think is a better way to play, which is a bit goofy. But it's all about negotiation and diplomacy when we do it. So I found scratching through the Bible, Abraham and Abimelech, who is Daniel's second favorite character from the Bible. So Daniel: Good Kevin: Abimelech, Daniel: ol' Obeme. Kevin: Abime, Abimelech. Daniel: I like to call him Obeme. Yeah, go Kevin: Abimelech, Daniel: on, go on, go on. Yeah. Kevin: Shaka, Laka, Waka, Shakira. Shakakan, Shakira, Abimelek. They were the three more tenors. The original three more tenors. Daniel: The three biblical tenors. Kevin: Which is weird because two of the women, but they can do tenor because they're amazing Daniel: They can do Kevin: singers. Daniel: tenor great. Kevin: Why, why, yeah exactly. So yes, Abraham and Abimelek in Genesis 21, 22, 24. At that time Abimelek with Fikol. You gotta love these names because no one knows how to say them, let's just be Daniel: No, Kevin: honest. With Daniel: nobody Kevin: Ficol, Daniel: knows. Kevin: the commander of his army said to Abraham, so in this bit, Bemelech makes a covenant with Abraham. They're like, hey, let's work together and we can work things out. And that's kind of Twilight Imperium. Hey, don't attack me. Daniel: Nice. Kevin: Secret alliance. Or there are some promissory notes where it's not secret and actually you have to... I have to abide by the covenant because you can punish me otherwise. So yeah, Israel Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: doesn't survive without negotiating with its neighbors. Twilight Daniel: That's a good Kevin: Imperium. Daniel: point. I Kevin: Yes. Daniel: like it, I like it. I thought Kevin: Thank Daniel: this one Kevin: you. Daniel: would appear on your list. I don't know how much you liked why it appeared before. Kevin: You know Daniel: That's Kevin: that, Daniel: a great. Kevin: yeah, I always harp on it. And it normally used to be my favorite game of all time, but it's just, it is hard to play just because you need a group and you need space diapers, too, to be honest. Astronaut Daniel: Space Kevin: diapers, Daniel: diapers, Kevin: yeah. Daniel: it's important. Kevin: Because it's a long game, potentially. Daniel: I shared with you before we got online that I had an announcement, something exciting to share with you. You know, we're in a new home Kevin: Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh Daniel: here in Columbia. Yeah, so now's the moment, it's happening. It's happening, it's not that exciting, but we're excited about it. You know, we're in this new home, and Kevin: Uh-huh. Daniel: our good friends, Sam and Becky, came for a visit the other night to play games and have dinner. And as a housewarming gift, they gave us their copy of Twilight Imperium 4. So Kevin: Yay! Daniel: we have Twilight Imperia before now. Thanks to, thank you Sam and Becky. They listen to the podcast too, so thank you all. So Kevin: What Daniel: I'm excited Kevin: a gift. Daniel: to play Kevin: Uh-huh. Daniel: with you someday. So yeah, yeah. Kevin: Yeah. Daniel: So anyway, so that was the exciting announcement Kevin: Yeah, Daniel: from here. Kevin: and you'll have to, I think, I think Elijah will like it. Daniel: Cool, cool. Okay, Kevin: Based Daniel: I have to Kevin: on Daniel: give Kevin: my Daniel: it a try. Kevin: short time with him, I think Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: he will like it. Yeah, and Jenny likes it, when the Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: family's, because it just creates a lot of community. So, Daniel: That's awesome. Kevin: and Daniel: I'm looking forward to... Kevin: Maggie, good luck. You might like it. Daniel: She might like it too. Yeah, Kevin: You might Daniel: yeah, Kevin: like it, I don't know. Daniel: yeah. I'm looking forward to learning more about the lion people. That's all I know about the game is that there are apparently Kevin: Space Daniel: the people Kevin: cats! Daniel: who look like lions. Kevin: The lion Daniel: Yeah, Kevin: people. Daniel: so. Kevin: Yeah, it's a little Daniel: All Kevin: ridiculous. Daniel: right. Kevin: There's lion people and frog people and fish people. And why did they get rid of it? Just side note, but... Or do I wanna know, will it make me cry? Daniel: I'm not sure. Well, I think, I mean, I don't speak for them. I think maybe they didn't get to the table as much as they had hoped they would, maybe. Kevin: Right, Daniel: Something Kevin: right, okay. Daniel: like that, yeah. And I think they had gotten it used somewhere else too. And so it wasn't a... Anyway, I think that's what their case was. Kevin: That's great. I mean, Daniel: Yeah, Kevin: it's Daniel: yeah, Kevin: a pricey game. Daniel: yeah. Kevin: So yes. One thing is Daniel: All Kevin: with Daniel: right. Kevin: four people, it's not as good. Just warning. Daniel: Okay, thank you. Thanks for telling me. All right, my number two Kevin: Number two. Daniel: relates to our previous episode. Our previous episode, we were interviewed, the wonderful human being and designer, Jamie Stegmeier. And Kevin: Never heard of them. Daniel: I think, oh yeah, you were sick. You were sick. Kevin: Oh right, Daniel: You Kevin: no Daniel: were Kevin: I was kidding, Daniel: out. Yeah, Kevin: of course Daniel: yeah, Kevin: I know about Jamie Stegmeier. Daniel: yeah. Kevin: Yeah, this Friday I was actually missing. Daniel: And I don't think I realized until doing this that this is my favorite Jamie Stegmaier game. And number two, any guesses what it might be? I don't Kevin: I know it's Daniel: think Kevin: not Daniel: you know Kevin: scythe. Daniel: this. Kevin: I know you're an oddball and it's not scythe. Daniel: I like Scythe, but no, it's not Scythe. Kevin: It's not Daniel: You're Kevin: your Daniel: right. Kevin: favorite. Daniel: Right, right. Kevin: It's the Daniel: I can Kevin: other Daniel: just tell Kevin: one Daniel: you. Kevin: tapestry. No. Daniel: Yay, good Kevin: It is Daniel: job. Kevin: tapestry. Daniel: It is Tapestry. Kevin: I still haven't Daniel: Yeah, Kevin: played tapestry. Daniel: yeah. Kevin: Don't hate me, Jamie. Don't hate Daniel: No, Kevin: me. Daniel: no, Kevin: I Daniel: it's number two. It's Tapestry. I know Kevin: It's Daniel: a lot Kevin: that Daniel: of Kevin: good, Daniel: it. Kevin: huh? Daniel: I know Tapestry gets strong feelings on both sides of the spectrum. Some people don't like it and some people don't. I love it. I love Tapestry. I didn't realize how Kevin: What Daniel: much Kevin: do you Daniel: I loved Kevin: like Daniel: it. Kevin: about Daniel: I was making Kevin: it? Daniel: this up. Well. One of the reasons I love it is, I guess, kind of why I put it here at number two, possibilities. Well, there's a lot of things I like about it. Honestly, again, part of it is the tactile nature, the delightful thing of it. I mean, by the end of it, you've built this, you've literally built this three-dimensional little city on your board, and it's just beautiful. It's just this beautiful little city with Kevin: Yeah, Daniel: tall Kevin: we're Daniel: buildings Kevin: back Daniel: and Kevin: to, Daniel: little Kevin: yeah. Daniel: buildings and colors. I mean, who doesn't like that? It feels like I just made a little Kevin: I Daniel: city. Kevin: love civilization Daniel: It's so cool. Kevin: building and I love Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: the cover. I've looked at it so many times. Okay. Daniel: But what I, but the reason I put it in what I'm, why is what I'm relating to now is, is my word for it is possibilities because I've gotten all the expansions for it. And so by this point, there are like 50 different civilizations you can be. And everyone has their own special powers that tweaks the rules. Kevin: Mm-hmm. Daniel: And I just, so every time I play it, it feels like a different game because I'm using, Kevin: I love that. Daniel: I'm using different civilization powers I didn't have before. And I love that. So that reminds Kevin: So Daniel: me Kevin: it's asymmetric, Daniel: of, Kevin: you're saying. Everyone's Daniel: yeah, Kevin: different. Daniel: yeah. Reminds me of the Tower of Babel in Genesis chapter Kevin: Ooh, Daniel: 11. Kevin: that's a good Daniel: Sometimes, Kevin: one! Daniel: so thank you. Sometimes what happens to the Tower of Babel, all the humanity can speak the same language. They try to build a tower. God says, I want you to speak different languages. And then they go off and they scatter. A lot of times, we see that story as a punishment, right? The different languages are a punishment, but it never actually says that it's a punishment. And sometimes Kevin: Really? Daniel: I've wondered Kevin: I Daniel: whether Kevin: didn't know Daniel: that's Kevin: that! Daniel: kind of Maybe it's kind of a good thing. For whatever reason, God seems to rejoice and delight in a diversity of languages. And thinking that it's really cool to have, for whatever reason, God wants a lot of languages, not one language. And that makes me think about how one of the reasons I find this game delightful is every time it's a different civilization, it's a different culture, it's for a different way to play, it's like a different language. And it makes it not boring, it makes it interesting. Kevin: so Daniel: And it Kevin: good. Daniel: makes me think of the Tower of Babel in Genesis Kevin: You Daniel: 11. Kevin: know, this may have come up in the past, I forget, I think it has. In the Quran there's a great verse where God says, don't you know that I've made you many people so you may know one another, and this Daniel: Yes! Kevin: idea that God wants to be different so we can know each other and our differences. And Daniel: Yes. Kevin: yeah, it's a similar idea and it's a lovely idea. Daniel: Yeah, I love that. I love that. I had forgotten that verse. Thank you. That Kevin: Yeah, Daniel: fits Kevin: I can't Daniel: well. Kevin: give you a citation, but if you google it, and I mean I'm no master of Quran, I've just read some, I've read some stuff, but yeah I like that. Daniel: Yeah. I think if folks want to go back to one of our, I think our first Ali Carrara episode, he also, he goes into that Kevin: I think Daniel: a little Kevin: so Daniel: bit too. Kevin: too. Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: Yes, that's right. That's right. Excellent. Well, number two for me, and I really just love Cole Worley stuff so much, is root. And this Daniel: Root! Kevin: was tough, but I just love root because like you're saying, it's asymmetric and Daniel: Hmm. Kevin: it's a bit of a struggle. And it's seeing how these different factions play out which is what you were highlighting in tapestry. Daniel: Yeah, Kevin: So love root Daniel: nice. Kevin: Especially love the idea that all these really cute woodland creatures are having a vicious War in the forest which is Daniel: Yes. Kevin: kind of meaningless in a lot of ways. So I love that cut to me this sort of idea in the game and Ecclesiastes 9 11 Says that again because the game ultimately is a race because up to 30 points you win So that's it's a race to points. Ecclesiastes 9 11, again, I saw that under the sun, the race is not to the swift, not, Daniel: Oh Kevin: nor to the battle, to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to the skillful, but time and chance happen to them all. So that verse kind of picks up for a couple of verses, no, one verse about being fast, but also skillful. And yeah, it's a game verse. Let's just be honest. You Daniel: That's Kevin: know Daniel: so Kevin: that Daniel: good. Kevin: Ecclesiastes Chohelith played some games. Daniel: Yeah, if anybody Kevin: Yeah, Daniel: did. Kevin: too. Yeah. Daniel: If anybody did, it was Kohelet. Yeah. Another great name. Kevin: Another, he's your third favorite, Daniel: From the Bible. Kevin: yeah. Daniel: Yeah. Cool. That's great. I love it. And Kevin: Don't Daniel: I think. Kevin: you just want to go on the Swiss Alps and shout that out? Co-hellef! Daniel: I love... And then somebody says, Polo. Kevin: I'm sorry. Daniel: No, I like it, I like it. That's great, that's great. That's a great one. And I think I may know what your number one is now. Maybe, Kevin: Do you? Daniel: maybe Kevin: Okay, Daniel: we can Kevin: you tell me, Daniel: see. All right, Kevin: do you want, Daniel: are you ready for my Kevin: okay. Daniel: number Kevin: Should Daniel: one? Kevin: I guess your number one? Daniel: Yeah, you wanna try to guess my number one? I think my number one may be hard to guess, but Kevin: Okay, Daniel: you Kevin: give me Daniel: might Kevin: a hint. Daniel: remember it. Kevin: Do you wanna give me a hint? Initials or something? Daniel: All throughout this, many of these games have been related to happy family memories. This is the most related to happy family memories. Kevin: Have I played it? Do you know? Daniel: Yes, I think you played it once while you were with us. And you may have played it before then too. It is not Kevin: Does Daniel: a Kevin: it Daniel: very Kevin: involve Daniel: complicated game Kevin: leopards? Daniel: at all. It could, depending on which direction you want to take it in. Kevin: Does it involve storks? Daniel: Yeah, it could involve anything depending on what direction Kevin: petting Daniel: you want Kevin: zoos? Daniel: to take it in. Kevin: Oh, Daniel: It could. It could. Kevin: I know what it is. I know Daniel: No, Kevin: what it Daniel: no, Kevin: is. Daniel: it's not that one. It's not that one. Kevin: Risk. Daniel: No, no, Kevin: Oh, Daniel: it's Kevin: it's Daniel: not Kevin: not? Daniel: that one. No, Kevin: It's Daniel: sorry. Kevin: not Arc Nova? Daniel: No, no, no. It's a very simple game. It's a very, very simple game. In fact, it's so simple. We don't even really pay attention to two thirds. Kevin: Oh, Daniel: Half Kevin: I know Daniel: the Kevin: what Daniel: rules, Kevin: it is, I know what Daniel: half Kevin: it Daniel: the Kevin: is, Daniel: rules. Kevin: I know what it Daniel: Yes. Kevin: is. Daniel: What do you think it is? Kevin: It's a drawing game. Daniel: Yes. Kevin: and involves dry erase markers. Daniel: Yes. Kevin: Telestrations! Daniel: Telestrations, that's it. That's right. Kevin: The illustrations Daniel: My number one game. Kevin: is hilarious. Daniel: Good guess. Kevin: It's Daniel: My Kevin: hilarious. Daniel: number one game is Telestrations, which I can't believe I'm saying, because it's a really simple game, but we don't keep score. We don't even pay attention to the rules. I don't even keep score. The number one game for our family. We love it. And laughter is my word for it. Kevin: Mm-hmm. Daniel: There's no game that I have more. happy memory. I feel myself starting to tear up just talking about it. There's no game that I have more happy memories around Kevin: Wow. Daniel: with my family, but with other people too. We played with other people too, than to illustrations. It's just laughing till we can't breathe, you know, just, and not just me, Kevin: Yeah. Daniel: but everyone around the table. And I just feel love when I think about my illustration memories. And so obviously it's related to the people around the table. But that makes it It's the vehicle for making that happen. Kevin: Mm-hmm. Daniel: And I should say it's not just my family. I've taken to church groups and it's always results in so much laughter. Kevin: I mean, you're Daniel: We Kevin: right. Daniel: bought the Kevin: Every Daniel: party Kevin: time Daniel: pack. Kevin: I've played it, it's fun. Yes. Daniel: Yeah, yeah. Kevin: Every time Daniel: There's Kevin: I've Daniel: a party Kevin: played Daniel: pack. Kevin: it. Daniel: Sorry, go ahead. Kevin: No, what's the party pack? Daniel: Yeah. Party pack, it lets you play up to 12 players. And so the standard is like maybe six, I'm not quite sure, but you can have the party pack for 12. And boy, it's fantastic. Play it around at table with a lot of Kevin: Yeah, Daniel: people. Kevin: it is always fun. You're right. It's a weird game because it's not about winning. It's about creating kind of, I mean, even if you're a good artist, you're so dependent on the circle and what's handed to you, like you really can't win. Yeah, it's really just about being goofy. Daniel: Yeah, yeah. Kevin: It's kind of weirdly, like even if you fail, even if your drawing is terrible, it's awesome. Daniel: Yeah, yeah. In our family, we've started to do house rules just to kind of make it even weirder. Like, so one round you should play with a non-dominant hand. You have to draw another round, you have to close your eyes while you're drawing. And Kevin: Oh Daniel: our Kevin: my Daniel: favorite Kevin: gosh. Daniel: one is where you ignore the categories they give you and the table decides on a category. And sometimes it will be like like, oh, what's the, would be like a feeling or, you know, Kevin: Mm-hmm. Daniel: like, or, so I remember one time we did, you know, like we did, you know, the clue, what you're trying to guess was like coming face to face with your own mortality or, or Kevin: My Daniel: that feeling, one was, one was that feeling you get when. uh, your friends said they're busy that night, but then you see them later on at a restaurant. Kevin: What did you draw? Daniel: We tried to draw, I tried to, I drew a person looking sadly through a window Kevin: I'm sorry. Daniel: and all these people having happy. And then sometimes we've done like favorite Kevin: Actually Daniel: childhood Kevin: what Daniel: cartoon. Kevin: you did is you pulled out your phone, and the last photo you took, you just drew that, because it just Daniel: That's right. Kevin: happened Daniel: Exactly. Kevin: to you. Daniel: Because Kevin: It's Daniel: it Kevin: just Daniel: had just Kevin: this little Daniel: happened. Kevin: vase. Daniel: It had. It had. It had. Kevin: Little porthole. Daniel: Yeah. Sometimes we do like your favorite cartoon character mashed up with a serious profession or something like that. And Kevin: Mm-hmm. Daniel: you try to anyway. Telestrations. Oh, so what verse that may think of. You just Kevin: Mm-hmm. Daniel: did Ecclesiastes. I just did Ecclesiastes because you're right. Kohelet likes to likes to have fun. Kohelet, by the way, for our listeners, is kind of the Hebrew name for the author of Ecclesiastes. Kevin: Yeah, sometimes translated the preacher or the teacher. Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: Yeah, in English. Daniel: And what I'm thinking of is Ecclesiastes 2, where the author says, you know, I've seen all this and done all this and tried all this. And what I've decided is the best thing we can do is just enjoy life that God has given us. And that's what that game reminds me of. The best thing I can do Kevin: I think it Daniel: is... Kevin: said and play board games, but the scribes, it got a little lost. Yeah, Daniel: It's always the scribes. Kevin: I'm pretty sure it was in there. We just haven't Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: found the oldest documents. Daniel: Yeah, no, it's Kevin: Yeah, Daniel: exactly right. Kevin: yeah. Daniel: If, based on where you put the vowel point, Kevin: Thanks for watching! Daniel: if the vowel point is to one side, it's Kevin: Right, right. Daniel: board games. If you put it on the Kevin: Right, Daniel: other side, Kevin: exactly, exactly. Daniel: it is forbidden is what it is. And so, Kevin: It's perfect, Daniel: yeah, Kevin: yeah, it's good, it's Daniel: yeah. Kevin: good, Daniel: So Kevin: yeah. Daniel: anyway, yes. So that's my number one, Telestration's Kevin. What's your number one? I think I Kevin: Alright, Daniel: may know, Kevin: you Daniel: I Kevin: want Daniel: may Kevin: to Daniel: have Kevin: try Daniel: guessed Kevin: to guess Daniel: it. Kevin: it? Daniel: Because I think I've heard you talk recently about how much you love this game and it hasn't shown up on your list yet. Is Kevin: Okay. Daniel: it... Is it another Cold Warly game? Kevin: It is. I'm so predictable. Daniel: Is it? Kevin: God, Daniel: No, you're not! Kevin: so Daniel: No, you got Kevin: sad. Daniel: mine too! Is it is it John Wick second edition? No, no Kevin: John Wick? Yes it is John Wick. I assemble a table and then I kill everyone at the table and Daniel: No, Kevin: then I make another movie. That's Daniel: I totally Kevin: the Daniel: got Kevin: game. Daniel: it wrong. I totally Kevin: John Daniel: got Kevin: Wick. Daniel: it wrong. What's the name? Kevin: I'm going to forever call it John Wick now. Daniel: What oh, no, I can't remember the name. I can't remember the name. What is it? It's John Kevin: Suit Daniel: something Kevin: black type tactical I put on a suit and then I shoot everyone at the table Or I kill them with the pencil like I think in John Daniel: UGH Kevin: Wick to John company dad. It's so Daniel: John Kevin: funny Daniel: Company, Kevin: John Daniel: second Kevin: company Daniel: edition. Kevin: second edition John company evidently Was a you know, the British are with their slang and weird So it was for the East India Trade Company, it was nicknamed John Company. So yeah, this is a game Daniel: Okay. Kevin: that it's kind of manipulation and push your luck. And it's just got a lot of stuff going on. And it can be just kind of hilarious, but fun. And yeah, it's just a great game. I love it. Proverbs 17, 16. Why should a fool... have money in his hand to buy wisdom when he has no sense. So it's kind of that Daniel: Hmm Kevin: idea of using your money wisely versus the fool. Hopefully you've invested in the company well, which means you're a terrible person. Daniel: You know, and that's so great. It does sound like a great, and again, Kevin, it's a game about history and about using things wisely to in the world and survival. Kevin: Hmm. Daniel: That's a cool theme. You seem to like to explore that space through Kevin: Gosh, Daniel: your board Kevin: this Daniel: games. Kevin: is weird. I did Daniel: I Kevin: not Daniel: like Kevin: realize Daniel: that. Kevin: these themes. Yeah, I guess I know what I like now. Daniel: You're a deep dude over there in your kebinage. Kevin: No, I'm just very afraid and worried. Do I have the skills to survive the zombies? And so I'm practicing. Daniel: I'm putting all my money on that whatever survival skills are needed in whatever coming apocalypse, maybe over the horizon, it will involve board games. That's my hope. That's my one bet in life. Kevin: Day 65, eating the components to tapestry. Hrm, hrm, hrm. Daniel: No. Kevin: No. I hate the wooden meeples. They're really, really rough on the stomach. Daniel: That was a great list. This is a lot of fun, Kevin. Kevin: We've never Daniel: Thank you Kevin: done Daniel: so Kevin: that Daniel: much. Kevin: before. That was Daniel: Yeah, Kevin: fun. Daniel: yeah, we should do this maybe just a year from now or Kevin: Yeah. Daniel: whenever, yeah, yeah. Great, I loved your list. And you know, there were no crossovers. I thought Brass Birmingham might be a crossover, but that's cool. Kevin: You know, it's funny, we broke that out to play it when Jenny and I had COVID, we were gonna play it outside with two of the kids. And that's part of it, because there's five of us and it only plays four. Daniel: Yeah, Kevin: And Daniel: yeah. Kevin: we got it outside, but we couldn't quite remember how to play. And by the time I remembered it was too dark, so I had to pack it up. But Daniel: Yeah, yeah. Kevin: it's a game I need to get back to. I do really like it, but Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: it's one that I just haven't played enough. Daniel: Yeah, yeah. Well, what that means is we got to talk about 20 games. That's cool. 20 different Kevin: That's Daniel: games. Kevin: great. That's great. Daniel: Yeah. Kevin: Take that Tom Vassel on the Dice Daniel: Ooh, Kevin: Tower Daniel: no, Kevin: YouTube. Daniel: no. Yeah, he's great. So Kevin: Yeah, but we're Daniel: listeners, Kevin: better. Daniel: thank you for listening to our listening to all of this as you made it to the end. You are troopers. We are grateful for you.
