Daniel [GM] (00:30): Welcome to Explorers Wanted. We are a weekly Numenera Actual Play podcast. I will be your humble GM, Daniel Andrlik. With me today is Stace Babcock. Stace [Nix] (00:42): I am with you today, Daniel. Daniel [GM] (00:44): Sampson Davis. Sampson [Dili] (00:45): The head space I'm in right now is indescribable. Daniel [GM] (00:50): Marietta Jones. Marietta [Atalia] (00:51): Full disclosure, I have an ear infection right now, and I did for the last one, so I'm not hearing super great, and I'm a little out of it. If Atalia seems a little OOC, that's my little asterisk. I just feel like the world's moving a little bit. It's kind of like... Yeah. Intense. Stace [Nix] (01:10): The world is moving. Daniel [GM] (01:11): It's not just the Colorado lifestyle? Marietta [Atalia] (01:14): It could just be Colorado in general. I think an ear infection plus 5,400 feet or whatever is sufficient. Daniel [GM] (01:21): Yeah. That would do it. Marietta [Atalia] (01:23): It's a tilt-a-whirl, my favorite ride. Daniel [GM] (01:29): And Alex Finn. Alex [ChaCha] (01:29): We've just learned that whatever Dan can do to us in this game is nothing compared to the horrors that human life can visit upon you. Marietta [Atalia] (01:38): Or just 2020 in general. I think Daniel's like, "Wow, this is such great fodder for my future campaign planning. 2020, thanks so much for the inspiration." Daniel [GM] (01:48): Yeah, all I have to do is look at the news. I don't even have to read Parable of the Sower. Daniel [GM] (01:53): Who remembers what happened last time? And I think... Marietta has got an ear infection, so I'm going to be nice to her. I'm going to pick on Sampson. Sampson [Dili] (02:03): On me? Last episode, we began by just sipping on whiskey with Momma J as Atalia scanned the plate that Nix has, the BTS antiquity china plate that she got from her mom, who got it from her aunt, all that. When Atalia scans the plate, she gets sent to some misty place that I've been calling the Dead Marshes, because there were dead bodies beneath the fog. Marietta [Atalia] (02:34): That was what you made it sound like. Daniel [GM] (02:37): Because you're a Tolkien nerd. You guys are our two Tolkien weebs. Marietta [Atalia] (02:41): Do you guys know that I have a Tolkien tattoo? Sampson [Dili] (02:44): I do now. Stace, you just made a face like you just got something. Stace [Nix] (02:47): A story I can't tell. Marietta [Atalia] (02:48): Oh. You can text it to me. Sampson [Dili] (02:52): Anyway, Atalia got sent to the Dead Marshes, and she was getting a recursion error. Marietta [Atalia] (02:57): I mentioned that, too, guys. That's going to be canon now. Sampson [Dili] (03:00): Yes, recursion error. While she's there, the dead start moving beneath the fog and they get a little handsy. And then behind her, some lady says, "This gate isn't open to you," and she feels a hand on her shoulder, gets turned around. She sees this older woman with very nice boots and a nose that looks a bit like Nix's, but she sent back. Alex [ChaCha] (03:24): Toxic gate keeping, even in death. Daniel [GM] (03:27): Yeah. Man. For a second, I thought you didn't say boots, and I was very upset. Stace [Nix] (03:31): That she had nice boobs? Marietta [Atalia] (03:35): She has great tits, guys. Daniel [GM] (03:36): Yeah, I was like, "I did not say that at all. What are you doing?" Sampson [Dili] (03:39): She's got a nice rack... of shoes. Anyway. Talked a little bit, and then... This is going to be hard to reiterate. We collectively decide that we're cool with Cha-Cha going on a drug-fueled vision quest, because it opens her mind to more of the beyond that she can see beyond of. Sampson [Dili] (04:06): While she is in her vision quest, she sees this energy reaching out from the plates towards Nix, but as it gets closer, recoils. She also sees not exactly the same horrors, but something very much akin to them, are reaching into Momma J's safe house. But then they see Momma J, and they're just like, "You know what? I'm out. Sorry. Sorry to bother you." And they disappear. Marietta [Atalia] (04:34): I also had that reaction. Sampson [Dili] (04:34): And then she also sees a face on the surface of the plate that looks a little like Nix in the nose. Alex [ChaCha] (04:41): Oh, and Buddy Cop's cousin being an elitist prick. Sampson [Dili] (04:45): Yes. That happened as well. During all this, I think we agree that this was a three-hour thing. We're tentatively planning to go talk to Dr. Oz and ask her, "What's up? What's happening?" Alex [ChaCha] (04:57): I'm sorry. Every time I hear that, I think of the trashy TV show, Dr. Oz. Sampson [Dili] (05:03): We're going to go out Dr. Oz as a fake. Daniel [GM] (05:05): She's totally going to have a fake colon for you guys to look at. Marietta [Atalia] (05:10): I still can't believe how hard Stace pushes that Dr. Oz is totally legitimate and fine. Stace [Nix] (05:13): Nix is very confident. Alex [ChaCha] (05:16): She's got that confident outlook. Marietta [Atalia] (05:17): Mm-hmm (affirmative). Sampson [Dili] (05:19): We need to canonically decide whether Dr. Oz is spelled like the way we think of Dr. Oz, or if it's some fucked up [crosstalk 00:05:24]. Marietta [Atalia] (05:25): I've been writing O-Z, so... Stace [Nix] (05:27): It's Doc Toroz. Daniel [GM] (05:29): Ah. I like that. Okay. That's canon, listeners, in case any of you want to start a Wiki or something like that. Not that I would say you need to do that. Marietta [Atalia] (05:41): Oh my gosh. That's when we know that we've gone beyond making it, is when there's an Explorers Wanted Wiki. Stace [Nix] (05:45): Yeah, but then we have to start worrying about continuity. Alex [ChaCha] (05:48): Fuck continuity. Sampson [Dili] (05:50): Everyone has to take notes then. Marietta [Atalia] (05:52): That's what our listeners are for. Daniel [GM] (05:53): Yeah, it'd be a shame if anybody else besides me had to worry about continuity. Alex [ChaCha] (06:00): All I know is Cha-Cha has infinite drugs and infinite pew-pew darts. Sampson [Dili] (06:05): Mm-hmm (affirmative). Daniel [GM] (06:06): Anyway. Next up, what happened next, Sampson? Alex [ChaCha] (06:09): Dili's like, "I want to see that plate, yo." Sampson [Dili] (06:11): Yeah, basically. But then Momma J also talks a bit about Doc Toroz and her involvement with the crown and politics. And apparently, 300 shins a month is pretty cheap for Doc Toroz, so something is definitely up, and Nix should go fucking look. Stace [Nix] (06:26): Oh. Sampson [Dili] (06:28): Oh, wait. There was also a mention, Doc Toroz is likely siphoning off the energy from Nix's mom, this teleportation juice, and she's, we don't know, but possibly using it for something. Marietta [Atalia] (06:41): For nefarious purposes. Sampson [Dili] (06:43): Maybe, or maybe not. We don't know. Marietta [Atalia] (06:45): Definitely nefarious purposes. Alex [ChaCha] (06:47): Or maybe she's selling it as a snake oil cure-all. "Have this teleportation juice. It'll cure what ails you." Sampson [Dili] (06:55): "It'll teleport away your disease." Daniel [GM] (06:56): She's selling it to bodybuilders like breast milk. Marietta [Atalia] (06:59): Comes in pineapple and strawberry. Daniel [GM] (07:03): Oh. Sorry, Alex. Well, not sorry, but sorry. Sampson [Dili] (07:14): She's not okay. Marietta [Atalia] (07:14): Is there a problem? What's the problem? What's the problem? Sampson [Dili] (07:21): She's drowning. Daniel [GM] (07:22): I think I broke Alex with the selling bodybuilders breast milk thing. Alex [ChaCha] (07:26): And then Marietta says it comes in flavors like strawberry and pineapple, and the implication of flavored breast milk. And I just took a swig of water, and it was just a fight to not get it through my nose, or vomit. Marietta [Atalia] (07:44): I'm just here for your weekly entertainment. Stace [Nix] (07:47): Are there rails anywhere around here? We should find them, get back on them. Marietta [Atalia] (07:50): Okay. Sampson [Dili] (07:56): While they're talking about this, Dili perks up at some mention of iotum and goes to use his new ability, iotum scan, and also gets sent to the Dead Marshes. Things start hissing at him beneath the fog, and then he has a little conversation with this mysterious woman, and he learns that this teleportation sickness is a gift. It is the ultimate freedom. And then she says some cryptic shit. Dili sees not-Nix, old Nix, it's probably her aunt, honestly, turn into a lamprey right before he gets sent back. That's where the episode ended. Stace [Nix] (08:31): Aunt Tali. Sampson [Dili] (08:31): Aunt Tali. Daniel [GM] (08:32): Okay. You guys are in Momma Jerrun's house, and Dili, you have just snapped out of this vision. You are now with everybody else. You had very clearly beforehand told everybody you wanted to look at the plate, Momma Jerrun motioned you towards it, and you did this, and we are back. What happens now? Sampson [Dili] (08:54): Holy shit, you guys. Marietta [Atalia] (08:56): How was that? Sampson [Dili] (08:58): What the fuck? Nix, what the fuck is up with this plate? Stace [Nix] (09:02): I don't know, Dili. It gave me a seizure. Marietta [Atalia] (09:05): She doesn't know. What happened to you? Sampson [Dili] (09:08): I got sent to this place with fog, and there was hissing underneath, and then- Marietta [Atalia] (09:14): And there were dead bodies? Sampson [Dili] (09:16): I didn't see them. I didn't have the means of moving the mist away, and honestly, didn't really want to move the mist away. But this lady came up and talked to me. And Dili, having specifically memorized her face, produces an image of this lady. Marietta [Atalia] (09:30): Yeah, that was the lady! Daniel [GM] (09:32): Mm-hmm (affirmative). Sampson [Dili] (09:33): Nix, is this familiar to you at all, perchance? Daniel [GM] (09:36): You don't remember what your aunt looks like, so yeah. Stace [Nix] (09:40): Oh, it's just her face. Yeah. No, I don't think I've ever seen her before, Dili. Alex [ChaCha] (09:44): That is the plate lady. Marietta [Atalia] (09:46): She's got your nose. Stace [Nix] (09:48): Well, tell her to give it back. No, I'm just kidding. Marietta [Atalia] (09:53): That would be a Nix response, though. Sampson [Dili] (09:56): Well, this lady... You dismiss the image. She also said that this teleportation sickness is a gift. It's the ultimate freedom. Marietta [Atalia] (10:05): Did she tell you you weren't supposed to be there, too? Sampson [Dili] (10:07): Yes, she did say that this gate is also not open to me, whatever the hell that means. Marietta [Atalia] (10:12): Well, I don't know why we got teleported, and then it was like mer when Nix touched it. You know what I mean? Sampson [Dili] (10:22): I did a thing that- Alex [ChaCha] (10:22): It doesn't like her. I told you. Marietta [Atalia] (10:25): Yeah, I know, but why doesn't it like her? Shouldn't it like her? Alex [ChaCha] (10:25): No. The snake is wrong. Daniel [GM] (10:28): Is Atalia's interpretation of a seizure mer? Is that what it is? Marietta [Atalia] (10:33): Okay, a seizure. Excuse me. When the plate gave Nix a seizure instead of teleporting here to this gate that might be open to her but was not open to us. Stace [Nix] (10:44): Pathfinder Jen suggested that my mom's sickness was a gift. Marietta [Atalia] (10:50): Hey, what's what the door thing? That was a door situation, wasn't it? Yeah, are you ever going to tell us about this door? Can that be a thing finally, or is there some hoops we need to jump through, or what? Sampson [Dili] (11:01): What are you talking about, Atalia? Marietta [Atalia] (11:03): This gate wasn't open to us. Isn't that a door? I don't know. I just feel like everything's connected somehow. Sampson [Dili] (11:11): Are you talking to Momma J or Nix? Marietta [Atalia] (11:12): Both. Isn't Momma Jerrun still here? Sampson [Dili] (11:15): I just didn't know who... Marietta [Atalia] (11:16): Sorry. Sampson [Dili] (11:16): I didn't know [crosstalk 00:11:17]. Marietta [Atalia] (11:17): That was to both Nix and Momma Jerrun, since I presume Momma Jerrun is right fucking here. Stace [Nix] (11:23): Atalia's associating the gate with the door and wants to find out if they're the same thing, I think. Alex [ChaCha] (11:26): Mm-hmm (affirmative). Marietta [Atalia] (11:26): Yeah, I think she's also just like, "P.S. Are you going to ever fucking tell us about this door thing? Not knowing about the damn door's almost gotten us killed twice." Daniel [GM] (11:36): Momma Jerrun looks at Atalia and says, "If I answer your question, that is going to change the nature of our relationship quite significantly. Are you sure you want me to answer that question? That's going to mean something different than just being a contractor." Marietta [Atalia] (11:54): Oh, man. That's not the response I expected. Alex [ChaCha] (11:56): Don't worry, Atalia. Once we find the door, I'm going to open it, and everything will be clear. It's fine. Daniel [GM] (12:03): You may not want to do that, but Atalia's asked the question. I'm sure you've heard it before based off of what Atalia said earlier. If you want to know the answer, that's going to require a change in our relationship. Marietta [Atalia] (12:16): I guess it depends on if we have the same values. Daniel [GM] (12:21): That's the discussion we're having now? Marietta [Atalia] (12:24): I didn't want to be a part of the handlers pretty hard, but I don't really know what all of this is about, ultimately. Before committing myself to something, I would like to know that, I feel. Daniel [GM] (12:38): You've mentioned it before, so why don't you all tell me what you already know, or think you know, about the Guardians of [Mito 00:12:46]. Stace [Nix] (12:46): All right. You guys protect humans and humanoid kind from whatever is on the other side of the door. That's what I think. Daniel [GM] (12:55): That's pretty close. It's partly what's on the other side of the door. It's also the things that are inevitably coming. Does everybody want to hear this? If anybody wants to remain a contractor and remain completely ignorant of anything else that's going on, if you want to have the ability to walk away as a private contractor with no issues whatsoever, now is your moment to step out of this house. Understand that, while there are choices to be made, there are some things we can't turn back if we go forward in this conversation. Marietta [Atalia] (13:30): I just feel like I really want to know, even if there are consequences. I'm tired of being in the dark, and I feel like you probably also know more about my family than you've told me so far. Daniel [GM] (13:39): I know the Stones quite well, yes. Marietta [Atalia] (13:42): I need those answers if I'm ever going to move forward. I can't go back, that's for sure. Daniel [GM] (13:48): Fair enough. Dili? Sampson [Dili] (13:49): Yep. Daniel [GM] (13:50): You look particularly pensive. Sampson [Dili] (13:51): All right. Listener, just to give you an inside look in Dili's head right now. He still thinks he's going to go back to his old life. And I think now, with this decision, he's not sure if that's ever going to happen, so now that's the thing. That's what he's struggling with. Can I go last while I think about this? Daniel [GM] (14:11): Momma Jerrun looks at you and says, "Okay. Take your time. Cha-Cha?" Alex [ChaCha] (14:16): This might be a conflict of interest for me, because I'm not sure how I'm changing the world yet, so maybe I should go check on the corpses of my former friends. Daniel [GM] (14:27): That's fair if you want to go do that. That's fine. This conversation doesn't have to happen now. It just has to happen when you want the answer to the question that Atalia has posed. Alex [ChaCha] (14:38): Yeah. I think I'm going to take a rain check, because Buddy Cop and Not Buddy Cop are giving me conflicting answers, and that's something I need to think on. And who I am as a person and the horrors that raised me, and if I'm a person. Daniel [GM] (14:56): That's fair. Alex [ChaCha] (14:57): Am I a person? Marietta [Atalia] (14:59): You're a person. Daniel [GM] (15:01): That's a choice you have to make on your own, Cha-Cha. I can't tell you that I've known others like you, but other than that, I'm not going to try to influence you one way or the other. Your choice. Take your time. Nix? Stace [Nix] (15:16): Yeah. Well, I guess I have some questions related to the exact change of the nature of our relationship. First, would I have to stop being a traveler, or not? Daniel [GM] (15:31): No. I would hope not. Stace [Nix] (15:32): Oh, okay. No, that's cool. Let's see. Daniel [GM] (15:38): From what I know of the travelers, I don't believe anything that we'd ask you, anything with our order, would in any way deliberately directly conflict with the tenets. Whether or not they conflict with the interpretation that the society has of its tenets versus what the tenets mean is another story altogether, but that's probably true even among members of your order. Stace [Nix] (16:05): Sometimes, other travelers like to argue. It's not that unusual, Momma J. That's fine. Daniel [GM] (16:11): I guess the one thing I would suggest is, and I don't know about your internal order's workings, is that to change our relationship is also to commit to secrecy and protection of our order. If that is going to be a conflict, then that is something you should consider. Stace [Nix] (16:29): Oh. Well, I can keep a secret, Momma J. Daniel [GM] (16:33): And if Pathfinder Jen asks you? Stace [Nix] (16:36): Oh, yeah. No. That's one of the tenets. We give our word. That's all I'd have to tell her, is I gave my word. Daniel [GM] (16:43): Okay. From what I'm hearing... Dili, do you need more time as well? I know Cha-Cha needs more time. Sampson [Dili] (16:50): While the other are talking, Dili has pulled out his notebook, and he's paging through. He's looking at the page that he was writing in an hour or two ago. And he closes the book, and he's shaking a little bit, and he says, "I'll hear it. Yeah. I'm in." Daniel [GM] (17:08): Okay. Do you all, besides Cha-Cha, want to hear it now, or do you want to wait until Cha-Cha has had a chance to check on her friends? It's your choice. If you hear it now, Cha-Cha has to leave for a while. Stace [Nix] (17:17): Can't you just look at your fire and see her friends, Momma J? Isn't that something you do? Marietta [Atalia] (17:24): Well, aren't they- Daniel [GM] (17:26): She turns to you and gives you a half grin, and she says, "That's very good, Nix. Let me see." And she looks at the fire for a moment, says, "[Carfa 00:17:36] and Donovan are both alive. They're badly beaten. Donovan lost a few of his men, but he's replaced them with new ones. They're alive and healthy, but you don't have to take my word on that. You're welcome to go to the Queen's Spittoon to check it our yourself. They've managed to conduct some repairs there since the incident." Alex [ChaCha] (18:00): Who's Donovan? Marietta [Atalia] (18:02): Loan Shark Guy, isn't he? Alex [ChaCha] (18:03): But we never found out his name. Daniel [GM] (18:06): Oh, yes. He does do a lot of questionable loans and enforcement down at the Queen's Spittoon. But yeah, Donovan. Everybody knows his name. Alex [ChaCha] (18:19): I think Cha-Cha's just going to look at her like, "Loan Shark Guy isn't his Christian name? What?" Daniel [GM] (18:25): Yeah. That's a callback to Nix's session zero, where he said, "Everybody knows me." Stace [Nix] (18:33): And where he wouldn't tell Nix's name either. Marietta [Atalia] (18:37): What do you want, Cha-Cha? Daniel [GM] (18:39): You're welcome to check on them, but it's up to you guys whether or not you want this information together. Or Cha-Cha, if you think you want to go check on them separately, that's fine. And Cha-Cha, as much as it might sadden me, if you think that by checking on that information you might make a different choice, I wish you the best. But I think if you have a different choice, then our relationship has to end here, but hopefully on a positive note. Marietta [Atalia] (19:07): Can I insight check Momma Jerrun to see if she is deceiving us here in any way? Daniel [GM] (19:16): Sure. Alex [ChaCha] (19:16): It's a 42. Daniel [GM] (19:18): It's an 18. Marietta [Atalia] (19:19): I am trained in detecting falsehoods. Daniel [GM] (19:21): That's a 15. Marietta [Atalia] (19:23): I'm going to spend two levels of effort. Daniel [GM] (19:26): Mm-hmm (affirmative). Marietta [Atalia] (19:29): Okay. Daniel [GM] (19:30): That brings it down to a nine. Marietta [Atalia] (19:33): Okay. That's a natural one, but I'm not spending an XP on it. Alex [ChaCha] (19:36): Fuck yes. Stace [Nix] (19:40): I'm spending an XP on it. Marietta [Atalia] (19:42): Okay, fine. I will spend an XP. Sorry if that was yelling. I will spend an XP. I just want everyone to know, every listener to know, that I had four XP exactly, which in the Cypher system means that I could've done one of the steps to tier up. Would've been very beneficial. Stace [Nix] (19:59): Yeah. Well, just take my XP- Marietta [Atalia] (20:01): Re-rolling. Stace [Nix] (20:01): ... and you can advance. Marietta [Atalia] (20:01): No. Stace [Nix] (20:02): I have six. Sampson [Dili] (20:02): Atalia, accept Nix's help. Marietta [Atalia] (20:05): Okay. Thank you, Nix. That's very thoughtful. Stace [Nix] (20:09): Nix ain't doing shit. This is Stace. Marietta [Atalia] (20:11): Do I have to spend effort again, or is it the same level? Daniel [GM] (20:15): No. It's wherever you left it when you rolled the dice, so you've already got your effort [crosstalk 00:20:19]. Marietta [Atalia] (20:19): Okay. I rolled a 17. Daniel [GM] (20:20): Okay. Marietta [Atalia] (20:21): I was just worried, because I thought it would be 18 again, and I was like, "That's dumb." Daniel [GM] (20:26): Yeah. Momma Jerrun is being very sincere at this moment, you feel like. You get the feeling from Momma Jerrun this is an important moment and important decision, and she's very deliberately not trying to mislead you or manipulate you in this moment. She's trying to offer you quite clearly what your choices are. Marietta [Atalia] (20:48): Well, how about this? If we keep your secrets, are we allowed to say no? Daniel [GM] (20:54): You're allowed to say no, as long as you keep the secrets. But once you enter this, it's no longer just a contracted relationship. There's assumptions made here. If you don't keep the secrets, assume that's a violation. Marietta [Atalia] (21:10): Okay. I just feel like you have to be able to say no, I guess. That makes sense. Daniel [GM] (21:17): That's fair. Marietta [Atalia] (21:18): Anyway. Yeah, I really want to hear it, though. Daniel [GM] (21:21): Okay. Cha-Cha, did you want to go check on your friends? Alex [ChaCha] (21:24): Yeah. I'm better being a contractor for now, because, again, conflict of interest. Daniel [GM] (21:32): Okay. Alex [ChaCha] (21:33): I'd have to go against family, maybe. I have to think about that. Daniel [GM] (21:37): That's fair. I will ask you, then, to leave at this point, Cha-Cha. If you want, your friends can meet you at the Queen's Spittoon. Alex [ChaCha] (21:47): That sounds good. Daniel [GM] (21:48): Okay. Cha-Cha, you leave there and you get to the Queen's Spittoon. You come in and Carfa's still in the corner. This place is mostly taken care of. There are some new tables in here. There're less mirrors, because mirrors are expensive, that were presumably smashed during the attack. But Loan Shark Guy is there in the corner, and he's got some goons with him, but they are definitely new goons. They're not the goons he had before. Alex [ChaCha] (22:17): Your name really is Donovan. Daniel [GM] (22:20): Yeah. That's what everybody calls me these days. Alex [ChaCha] (22:23): We've just been calling you Loan Shark Guy. Daniel [GM] (22:27): Accurate, if rude, but I like you, Cha-Cha. Alex [ChaCha] (22:30): One of my friends had a vision he was killing you, so we came back, and I figured I should probably pay respects to your corpse if you were actually dead. Daniel [GM] (22:40): Oh. Luckily, I'm not dead. I got really messed up, though. But luckily, it worked out in the end. For whatever reason, the thing was attacking me. Something came it, it attacked me. It was making all these crazy noises. It really messed me up, killed a bunch of my guys, really messed up this place. And then it just stopped. I don't understand. It looked in the mirror, made some sort of sound, and then it dropped me, smashed the mirror, and then left. Alex [ChaCha] (23:13): Any lasting damage to you? Daniel [GM] (23:15): Some bruises. Alex [ChaCha] (23:17): Yeah, no. Daniel [GM] (23:18): I've got connections with a nano. They were able to heal up most of the obvious stuff, the worst stuff. They owed me a favor. Alex [ChaCha] (23:26): Was it Doc Toroz? Daniel [GM] (23:28): Oh, no. Doc Toroz doesn't mess with people at this level. Maybe back when she was first getting started, yeah. Doc Toroz and I used to do stuff together, but not these days. Alex [ChaCha] (23:41): Does she owe you any favors? Daniel [GM] (23:43): Roll a die for me. Tell me if you get evens or odds. Alex [ChaCha] (23:45): Even. Daniel [GM] (23:46): It's pretty personal, Cha-Cha. She might owe me a favor. I like to hold on to those, though, until I really need them. Alex [ChaCha] (23:55): Don't worry. It won't be back to kill you. It's not after you. Daniel [GM] (23:58): I assume so, since I was left alive, because it could've killed me if it wanted to. I'm not too proud to admit that. Alex [ChaCha] (24:06): Don't worry. I'm going to kill it. I will murder it and rip its heart out. Daniel [GM] (24:10): Thank you, Cha-Cha. You got a way with words that I appreciate. Daniel [GM] (24:15): Hey, you got any other shows? I know we've been talking about sad things, but we could really use some churn up here. Alex [ChaCha] (24:22): Of course. I'm going to have Cha-Cha tell the story about the hueriks were banging and Nix did not notice. Daniel [GM] (24:32): Okay. Are you going to obviously do it with your Nix character? Alex [ChaCha] (24:35): Yes, because I think that would be quite humorous to them. Daniel [GM] (24:39): Okay. You're going to have two assets to this, which makes it a six for your performance roll. Alex [ChaCha] (24:48): I got a 20, because why do I need to roll nice when it matters? Let's use it all on performance. Daniel [GM] (24:53): Yeah. Loan Shark Guy fucking loves this. In fact, other people are paying attention, and you end up getting 10 shins in tips, which is huge for some place in [Lordana 00:25:03]. Alex [ChaCha] (25:03): Sweet. You have money to buy actual food instead of rando forest food. Daniel [GM] (25:10): In fact, even Carfa, who normally ignores the Nix humor, does chuckle a little bit at your performance. Alex [ChaCha] (25:17): Ha! Getting everybody to dunk on Nix. Stace [Nix] (25:20): When did Cha-Cha start to hate Nix? Marietta [Atalia] (25:21): Why? Alex [ChaCha] (25:25): Oh no, I just find it amusing. Most of the stories on Nix are just like, "Remember that time Nix fucked up?" That one time, out of the 20 times Nix did not. Stace [Nix] (25:37): Actually really sweet. Daniel [GM] (25:40): With that, as Cha-Cha's doing this performance and people are tipping her and there's all sorts of excitement and delight at the Queen's Spittoon, we cut back a little bit in time to Momma Jerrun's to shortly after Cha-Cha left. Stace [Nix] (25:56): Can I ask something real quick? Daniel [GM] (25:58): Yeah, go ahead. Stace [Nix] (25:59): Cha-Cha going to check on the people isn't what is excluding her from this conversation. Cha-Cha is really just saying, "No, I'm not doing this right now." Alex [ChaCha] (26:07): Yes. Daniel [GM] (26:09): Cha-Cha wants to check on the people, and she thinks she might have a conflict of interest. She's not sure. Stace [Nix] (26:15): We knew Cha-Cha wasn't coming back to tell us her decision. She has medium her decision. Alex [ChaCha] (26:21): Yes. Stace [Nix] (26:21): Okay. Daniel [GM] (26:22): Yeah. Momma Jerrun says, "Atalia, now you've all made this decision. You want to know what the door is. In order for me to answer that question for you, like I said, it requires a change in the nature of our relationship. It requires you to become, to some degree, associated with our order, not just as contractors." Marietta [Atalia] (26:51): Okay. Daniel [GM] (26:51): To start with, our organization, as you know, there have been eight worlds before this. Now, I'll tell you a secret known only to us. There have actually been 10. Sampson [Dili] (27:03): Fuck. [crosstalk 00:27:04]. Daniel [GM] (27:04): These worlds all rose to great heights and fell in their time. And make no mistake, ours will someday as well. There are existential threats to humanoid kind. History has shown this, of the written and pieced together from artifacts in Numenera. We have two goals. One, to build the storehouse, the library, the armory if you will, for humanoid kind to survive what's coming. And our other purpose is to prepare the way, if there is a potential, way of escaping the doom that is inevitable. And not just for humans, but any humanoid, even if those humanoids, by very nature of their species, would seek to eat us or prey upon us, because all of them are part of the makeup of our Clade. And we must preserve the Clade in order to ensure that humanity rises again, and humanoids rise again, whichever form takes precedence. Daniel [GM] (28:16): This involves the acquisition of items, the acquisition of knowledge, and the preparation or salvation and escape. I'm not going to lie. Sometimes, it involves us doing things that are not comfortable. Sometimes, it involves us doing things that are not ideal for somebody right now. But it is all towards preparing for that final conflagration, or chill, or whatever it ends up being, so that there's a safe haven where our all of our respective species can rise again. Daniel [GM] (28:51): There's more, obviously, but there's limits to what I can explain without you being member of the order. Again, with the condition of silence. We've been around a long time, and we're very careful. We can't afford to spend a lot of time in the open, because honestly, people in power, they don't like the notion of some independent entity preparing for this. They'd rather have it for themselves. Sometimes, we have to make difficult choices, but we don't do that unilaterally. We have a structure in place. That being said, I can tell you this. Should you choose to move forward and join our order, as I hope that you will, understand that means that, without explicit permission of the order, you cannot disclose your affiliation, or even the order's existence to any third party. Stace [Nix] (29:46): Man. You really, Momma J, got to get your people to chill on what is the door puzzle question thing, because that really was a big clue to us that there was something going on. Daniel [GM] (29:55): I think it's hilarious that you assume that there would be only one answer to that. Stace [Nix] (30:01): Oh. Well, thank you. Likewise, it's so important to preserve the species, I guess. Marietta [Atalia] (30:06): It just doesn't feel very incentivizing. I don't know. Maybe that's horrible to say. I want these answers, and I wouldn't mind helping the world, I guess. Having greater purpose is great and all. It sounds like there would be a lot of Numenera to discover, but this doesn't feel like freedom, I guess. I don't know. I guess that's your thing, actually. Daniel [GM] (30:29): I understand that. Our order has specific goals in mind. That doesn't mean you can't do other things, but it does mean that order business comes first. I'm deliberately here not trying to sugarcoat this or make it seem unnaturally rosy. I want you to understand that there are commitments associated with this. There will be assignments. There is some flexibility for refusing assignments, there is some flexibility for working. But the other thing is that our survival depends on secrecy and adhering to a chain of command. You don't necessarily have to do every task that somebody sets aside for you, but you should not work across purposes of it. And most of all, you should not disclose it. Daniel [GM] (31:21): We have spent centuries this way, to provide the storehouses and the salvation plan for humanoid kind. And I understand what you're saying, Nix, about whether or not humanoid kind is worth saving, and I understand that might be something that conflicts with the order, because I know you have somewhat of an accepted concept of death and extinction. And our goal is to save what remains of this form as many times as we have to, because what's coming can't be averted. Stace [Nix] (31:55): Are we helping the people who are going to be alive, then, survive? Or are we just preserving genetic material? That's what I'm confused about. Daniel [GM] (32:06): Hopefully both. It depends on what the nature of the final end is, which is why I say we manage both a library of information, as well as an armory. Marietta [Atalia] (32:18): I'm just... I don't know. Daniel [GM] (32:21): "Let me put it this way." She takes a breath and she looks at the fire for a moment, and the fire dims almost to embers, and then lights begin to appear in the air around Momma Jerrun. Dili, it doesn't look that different from your illusions in some ways, except this is something that... It's not just an illusion, it's not just like, "I'm extending a concentration." This is almost like she's an instinctual artist with her mental paintbrush, forming things in the air around you. Daniel [GM] (32:53): And in it, she draws a black door on a field of black, and she says, "Someday, it may be soon, it may be 200 years from now, this door, it's going to open. There are things on the other side of this door. There are things on our side of the door. We can't trust either of them. But when that door opens, the end of our world, which we call the Ninth, though it's truly the Eleventh, has come. The door is not just doom, though. It's both exit and entrance, hope and despair. There are things we can do to preserve everything we can inside of the door. But there are also opportunities for expansion and brand-new lives on the other side. But..." She looks at each of you closely. "We dare not open it ourselves." Marietta [Atalia] (33:52): Cha-Cha thinks she's destined to open it, though. Daniel [GM] (33:54): I'm sure there are many telling her that. Maybe she's even capable of it. I don't know. If she's meant to open it, so be it. But we dare not do it on our own, because we have no way to know if we're ready. What would you like to do? I can say no more at this point. Sampson [Dili] (34:10): I'm so fucking shaky, I keep writing things down wrong in my notebook. It sucks. Dili is no longer shaking. In a quiet voice, he says, "I'd hoped that this would all blow over. Get out of Charmonde and start my life over again. I'm starting to think that that's not going to happen, that there's no going back to the way things were. I've been told recently that I have a good instinct for protecting, so I'll take her advice and follow that instinct. I'm in. Let's go. Let's rock it. Whatever." And then he just trails off, mumbling. Daniel [GM] (34:46): She beams at you, and then she turns to Nix and Atalia. Marietta [Atalia] (34:49): "Just feel like you have priorities still." Turning to Nix. "We need to save your family." Stace [Nix] (34:56): Yeah. I guess that was going to be one of my questions. Are you still going to save my parents or not, Momma J? Daniel [GM] (35:03): We can help you regardless. It depends on how you approach this. There are scenarios where possibly your family could stay in Charmonde. There are also scenarios where your family might need to leave. I can't control the queen. I don't know what she's thinking, beyond what I've inferred. And if that's the case of the matter, I can help you if things are going to stay relatively calm and it's about returning to their home. If you're talking about relocating your family somewhere else safely, that's something the order could help you with, but it's not something I would be authorized to extend to that extent to a contractor, even if I am fond of you. Stace [Nix] (35:44): No, that's what I meant, Momma J. If I join up, are you going to be able to help my parents? Are you still going to help them? Daniel [GM] (35:48): Absolutely. Stace [Nix] (35:48): Oh, yeah. No. Then that's... Daniel [GM] (35:48): That's not a question, Nix. You join the order, we look after one another. Sometimes, there are hard decisions to be made, but this is a case where we have a ratty, paranoid queen that's using good people for no good reason. Stace [Nix] (36:10): I really just think that maybe if Cha-Cha heard this, she might change her mind, too. Daniel [GM] (36:15): Maybe, but she made her choice. Remember that you are not permitted to disclose this to her, what we've talked about. Stace [Nix] (36:23): I remember, Momma J. Daniel [GM] (36:25): If Cha-Cha is going to make this decision, she needs to make it on her own. Stace [Nix] (36:35): Yeah, but she's pretty cool and all, and I don't want to just stop hanging out with Cha-Cha. Daniel [GM] (36:36): You don't have to stop hanging out with her. The issue is that you need to figure out how you're going to work with her. Don't get me wrong, I would love Cha-Cha to join us, but I'm not going to force her to. And I'm also not going to, for lack of a better word, approve any other kind of coercion. Stace [Nix] (36:57): Oh, that's legit. I just was thinking. Atalia, what do you think? You want to do this or not? Marietta [Atalia] (37:03): I want the answers. I worry that Cha-Cha is going to think that she's supposed to open that door. I guess I'm still worried about my family, too. Is my grandmother actually a bad lady? Is that a lawn I'm ever going to have to cross? Daniel [GM] (37:18): I don't think I can answer that for you, honestly. [Emran 00:37:22] Stone has always been her own reacher. Given the way she's raised you, I would assume that you have nothing to fear from her. Your mother, on the other hand, that might be a different story. Marietta [Atalia] (37:34): Not really in a hurry to see my mother any time soon. Clearly wasn't very much of a priority for her. Daniel [GM] (37:41): Probably not before, but there's word about you on the street. Marietta [Atalia] (37:45): Yeah, well, I don't think it's going to be positive interest then. Daniel [GM] (37:50): Yeah, everybody's talking about the handler that went rogue. Marietta [Atalia] (37:55): I wasn't even a handler, though. I was just a contractor. Daniel [GM] (37:57): Yeah, those kinds of details don't matter when it comes to whispers. Marietta [Atalia] (38:02): Well, we'll cross that particular bridge when we come to it. Yeah, I don't know. I still have my lines, though, and that's definitely one, and Nix is also one. I don't really know that there's going to be much that will change that, and that's just how I am. Daniel [GM] (38:16): Lines are good. Like I said, we don't force anybody to do anything. There is some leeway towards refusing assignments, so long as you don't actively work against them. Marietta [Atalia] (38:27): Okay. Well, then if Nix wants to do it, I'll totally do it. Stace [Nix] (38:29): Yeah, and Atalia, if you want to do it, I'll do it. Sampson [Dili] (38:32): Dili rolls his eyes behind them. Daniel [GM] (38:38): I'll tell you what. Take a day, find somewhere to hole up. Of course, I don't have space here for all of y'all. Find a place to rest. You've done good work. Think about it. Come back to me tomorrow evening. Let me know what you're thinking. Dili, you've already said. It's not like you signed your name in blood or anything like that, so if you change your mind, that's okay. But come back tomorrow evening. If everybody agrees, we'll handle induction then. If not, then we'll say our goodbyes and just reiterate the conditions of silence about what you've heard. Marietta [Atalia] (39:14): Yeah, we did sign that nondisclosure. Daniel [GM] (39:18): Take a day. It sounds like Atalia and Nix need time to decide, which honestly is totally understandable and okay. Marietta [Atalia] (39:26): Okay. Yeah, let's go to the Queen's Spittoon. We'll go there. Yeah. Daniel [GM] (39:31): Just remember, don't disclose anything of what you've heard to Cha-Cha. It's up to Cha-Cha to make her own decisions about the information- Marietta [Atalia] (39:39): Sure. Daniel [GM] (39:39): ... when she hears it. Marietta [Atalia] (39:40): Definitely. Daniel [GM] (39:41): "Okay. Well, enjoy. You've got quite a few shins in your pockets. Enjoy some scorps if you can." She flicks her eyes at Nix. "Have a good night. You've done amazing work. I hope you understand, you should feel a sense of achievement. You went off to collect a missing caravan, missing items, in a very dangerous situation, because everywhere in the Ninth World, or Eleventh World..." She winks. "Is dangerous. But you did it. Plus, you helped another lost guardian achieve their goal, and you did it in half the time of what we expected. You should feel proud of yourselves." Stace [Nix] (40:24): We are pretty balling, Momma J. Daniel [GM] (40:26): Have a good night. And hopefully, I'll see you tomorrow evening. Marietta [Atalia] (40:30): Yep. Goodnight. Sampson [Dili] (40:31): Have a good night. Marietta [Atalia] (40:31): Jeskii. Sampson [Dili] (40:33): As we leave, Dili casts disguise on Atalia and Nix. Also, can we say that we had an hour rest during this whole thing? Daniel [GM] (40:41): Yes. Stace [Nix] (40:42): Yeah, three hours. Sampson [Dili] (40:44): I need some higher numbers. Daniel [GM] (40:46): Yeah. Okay. The rest of you all are heading to the Queen's Spittoon. You get there. Similar to what I described for Alex, Carfa is there, the place has new tables. Most of the mirrors are gone. They clearly must've been smashed up pretty badly. You can see Carfa in the corner, and you can see Cha-Cha talking to Loan Shark Guy. Stace [Nix] (41:06): Yo, what's up, Cha-Cha? Daniel [GM] (41:10): Nix looks like this weird nano, right? This other nano that came in before? Sampson [Dili] (41:14): Yeah, like one of those hoity-toity technophiles of the Ninth World. Daniel [GM] (41:17): Cha-Cha, you see this really tall, spindly nano. Very clearly a nano, because they're wearing... Not like real nanos, but like stage nanos, the ones who really play up their abilities to the max. She's got the black cape with the red silk inner lining, full-on Dracula style. Stace [Nix] (41:40): Six monocles of various sizes. Daniel [GM] (41:43): Yeah, for sure. Like steampunk Dracula. Stace [Nix] (41:45): Yeah! Steampunk Dracula. Marietta [Atalia] (41:48): Yeah! Alex [ChaCha] (41:52): I think Cha-Cha's just going to give the nano a blank stare, just like, "And you are?" And she's going to subtly reach for the laser gun. Stace [Nix] (42:03): Cha-Cha, oh my God. Daniel [GM] (42:04): Dili's disguises also encompass sound, so he's probably also changed your voice, whether or not he's consciously aware he's doing it or not. Sampson [Dili] (42:11): Does it do that? That's amazing! Marietta [Atalia] (42:16): Esoteries, wink-wink. Sampson [Dili] (42:16): I think Dili would've been confident enough to at least trail behind Nix as she went up. Daniel [GM] (42:23): Did Dili disguise himself? You initially just said Atalia and Nix you were disguising. Sampson [Dili] (42:27): Disguised everyone, yeah. I spent the IP for it. Daniel [GM] (42:30): Okay. You still look like [Assidra 00:42:32] and [Asus 00:42:33]. Sampson [Dili] (42:33): Yeah, a little bit. Alex [ChaCha] (42:36): Oh. Dili's using the same disguise he used in the city? Sampson [Dili] (42:39): I think so, yeah. Alex [ChaCha] (42:40): When we came into the city? Daniel [GM] (42:41): Yeah. Alex [ChaCha] (42:42): I think if Dili comes up and Cha-Cha can see him around the disguised Nix, she'll realize that... I don't think she's that dumb. Stace [Nix] (42:50): Mm-mm (negative). Alex [ChaCha] (42:51): I think she'll realize who they are, and she'll put two and two together. Daniel [GM] (42:54): No, I think she would realize it. Sampson [Dili] (42:56): Hello, Cha-Cha. Long time, no see. Alex [ChaCha] (43:00): Every time I see you like that, it's so ugly. Daniel [GM] (43:03): Loan Shark Guy looks at each other like, "You know these people? Are they bothering you?" Alex [ChaCha] (43:07): These are new recruits to my performing group. See? Daniel [GM] (43:13): Oh, you're lying to Loan Shark Guy. Okay. Give me a deception roll of 12. Alex [ChaCha] (43:19): I feel like she would, because... I'm trying to decide if I want to [inaudible 00:43:24] for it. Would Cirque du Soleil apply here? Daniel [GM] (43:28): No. Sampson [Dili] (43:31): Can Dili help? Can the disguises be so convincing that, "Yeah, these seem like a couple schlubs that Cha-Cha would get to work for her." Daniel [GM] (43:40): No, not in this case. Alex [ChaCha] (43:42): And this would be intellect? Daniel [GM] (43:44): Yes. Alex [ChaCha] (43:44): Okay. I'm going to use one level of intellect. Daniel [GM] (43:49): Okay. That brings it down to a nine. Alex [ChaCha] (43:51): It's two edge. That means it costs two? Daniel [GM] (43:55): It costs one point then. Alex [ChaCha] (43:56): Okay. Sorry. I'm trying to math, and I'm tired. I got a nine. Thank you. Daniel [GM] (44:03): Okay. Loan Shark Guy buys it. He's fine. Alex [ChaCha] (44:08): I think internally, Cha-Cha is not fine with lying to him, Daniel [GM] (44:12): At this point, I would like to offer Dili an XP. Sampson [Dili] (44:13): Fuck! Alex [ChaCha] (44:13): Oh, no. Sampson [Dili] (44:15): Yeah, all right. I'll take it. Daniel [GM] (44:17): Okay. Who will you give the other XP to? Sampson [Dili] (44:19): I'll give it to Cha-Cha. Alex [ChaCha] (44:21): Thank you. Daniel [GM] (44:22): Okay. Dili, what happens next is like a blur. Your illusion stays perfectly fine, but to everybody else's view, you see this weird hybrid of Assidra and Asus step forward, fling a table out of the way, step up to Loan Shark Guy, and somehow, which doesn't make sense to you, lift Loan Shark Guy in the air by the throat, and you hear Dili make this chittering sound. And then he says something, you're not quite sure. You'd never heard the full name before. You hear, "Adilabrim," from Dili's mouth. And that's where we'll end this episode. Alex [ChaCha] (45:04): Ooh, that's a nice ending. Sampson [Dili] (45:05): Fuck. Oops. Sorry, guys. My bad. Marietta [Atalia] (45:07): It had to happen at some point. Daniel [GM] (45:12): Marietta, something about this episode for Atalia, or for another character. It's fine. Marietta [Atalia] (45:17): I liked that we found out about the door a little bit. I do hope that Cha-Cha eventually has plot reasons to come with us. We'd been trying to figure that out for a long time, and it feels like a pretty big milestone. It feels good to reach that point. It's like we've really started to come full circle. I'm interested to see what we learn and what decisions are made and what comes of the next session, which I'm sure won't involve any combat whatsoever. Alex [ChaCha] (45:47): Nah. Daniel [GM] (45:48): Of course. Marietta [Atalia] (45:49): No combat. Daniel doesn't do combat in his campaigns. Daniel [GM] (45:53): There's absolutely no peril. Sampson [Dili] (45:54): Mm-hmm (affirmative). Marietta [Atalia] (45:54): Mm-mm (negative). Yeah. I think that's it. Daniel [GM] (45:58): Okay, cool. We have a segment that we do each week called Player Intrusions, and that is where we offer you, the listener, an XP to check out something that we think you would absolutely dig. This week, it is Alex's turn. Alex, what would you offer our listeners an XP to check out? Alex [ChaCha] (46:16): Going with the spooky season, I would give the listeners an XP to check out Fatal Frame. It is a Japanese horror game, where the only weapon you have is a camera. Some of the rituals in it are based on deep, taboo, ultra-rare, occult rituals, and it's just... If you go with the first game, they used the PS2's graphics, the limitations to their advantage. It's got a grain filter over it. And you're basically going to this haunted mansion to find your brother. The second one is you're two identical twins and you get lost in the forest. And the third one, they bring it all together. It's just this really amazing dark game that's all about bringing in the atmosphere and really building the aspect of horror. There are some jump scares, but it's mainly just focusing on the noise and the atmosphere to just give you the spooks using your camera. Daniel [GM] (47:34): Oh. If we play in the dark, will we shriek? Alex [ChaCha] (47:36): Oh, yeah. Daniel [GM] (47:36): Okay. Alex [ChaCha] (47:38): And it's wonderfully Japanese in the sense that they explain the origin of the big bad, and you feel bad for the big bad, and you're like, "Actually, you are totally justified in what you're doing. Good on you. You go, girl." Daniel [GM] (47:54): Right. Okay, cool. And you said there's three games in the Fatal Frame series? Alex [ChaCha] (47:59): There's four or five, actually. The fourth one never released in the U.S., and I think it's for the Wii, and then there's a fifth one for the Wii-U. First two, you can get on PS2. Second one, I know you can get on Xbox. Third one is PS4. No, PS2 as well. I'm having trouble remembering generations. Marietta [Atalia] (48:23): Google knows. Daniel [GM] (48:24): Okay. Very cool. Sounds like a fun spoopy game. Alex [ChaCha] (48:28): 'Tis the season. Daniel [GM] (48:29): If people wanted to reach out to us to tell us what they think about the podcast, or about the Fatal Frame series, how would they do that, Marietta? Marietta [Atalia] (48:36): Well, the best place to start is our website, which is explorerswanted.fm. And there's links to all of our social medias, where you can free to reach out to us. We are on Twitter @ExplorersWanted, we are on Instagram @explorerswantedpodcast. We have a Facebook page, Explorers Wanted Podcast. And if you really want to hang out with us, the best way to do that, to talk to us about whatever you're feeling, you can come to our Discord channel, which there are links to that on our website and in our social media. Marietta [Atalia] (49:07): And if you are looking to support us concretely and help us reach some of our stretch goals, such as eventually maybe possibly doing an Invisible Sun campaign, you can go to our Patreon, which is Explorers Wanted, and there are a few different tiers there. That would be really great. If you can afford to financially support us, we would love that. Marietta [Atalia] (49:26): But really, come to our Discord, become part of our community. We want to interact with you. Yeah. Be our friends, please. Daniel [GM] (49:34): Awesome. Yes, please do come to the Discord. We love meeting all of you and chatting with you. Daniel [GM] (49:39): Honestly, if you liked the podcast, the best thing that you could do for us is to tell a friend and tell them why you liked us and why they should listen to us. The second best thing you could do for us is to leave us a five-star review on the podcast directory, specifically Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Chaser. Those are places where those five-star written reviews, especially if you're specific about what you like, make a huge difference in listeners trying us out and helping us build an audience. Anything you could do there, it only takes a few minutes, and it just makes such a huge difference for people when they're looking through new podcasts to try out like, "Do I want to give this one a shot or not?" That's a big deal. If you didn't like the podcast, or if you just thought it was meh, well, don't bother with a review. Daniel [GM] (50:26): But I would like to remind you that the book is empty until you open it. The words are just ink before you read them. Yet in your head, they live. Isn't that wild? And even now, while we sit here recording this in late September, the sound of our voices is being encoded into digital recordings that can passed from machine to machine for your phone or computer to translate back into sound. And those sounds might as well just be ululating melodies until your brain translates them. But then once it does, it becomes something different. And now, we're in your head, alive and vibrant. It's a nice place you've got here. Think we'll stay. Daniel [GM] (51:07): If you want to reach out to us individually on social media, you can. You can find me on Twitter @andrlik, A-N-D-R-L-I-K. Stace [Nix] (51:13): You can find me on Twitter @StaceWindu. Sampson [Dili] (51:15): Ululating is such a fun word. Tell me your favorite word @SlamPotato. Alex [ChaCha] (51:20): You can tell me your favorite horror game @realteaunicorn. Marietta [Atalia] (51:24): You can tell me what sappy anime to watch now that season two of Fruits Basket is over @imonahike. Daniel [GM] (51:30): Okay, that's it for us. We will be back next with, as we will for every week in the foreseeable future. Have a good night, day, weekend, whenever you're listening to this, and bye! Sampson [Dili] (51:39): Bye! Stace [Nix] (51:39): Bye! Alex [ChaCha] (51:39): Bye! Marietta [Atalia] (51:39): Bye! Sampson [Dili] (51:39): I'm so sweaty right now. So many things. Eleventh World, holy shit. Stace [Nix] (52:18): A story I can't tell. Marietta [Atalia] (52:21): Oh. You can text it to me. Sampson [Dili] (52:23): Does it also involve a bucket? Stace [Nix] (52:27): It's not about a shit bucket. Marietta [Atalia] (52:33): Oh, man. Daniel [GM] (52:35): By the way, my wife's friends did refer to me as shit bucket [inaudible 00:52:38] when she first started dating me, because of that story. Marietta [Atalia] (52:42): Okay, now we know that you tell people this story at least semi-frequently. Sampson [Dili] (52:47): It's a good story. Daniel [GM] (52:48): It's a good story. Why wouldn't I tell it? Marietta [Atalia] (52:50): It's great. It was beautiful. It should've been recorded. It would've been one of those great recorded stories to listen to. Sampson [Dili] (52:55): That's a Patreon tier. Daniel [GM] (52:56): It's already been recorded and broadcasted once as part of another podcast. Marietta [Atalia] (53:01): That could be a side piece for Patreon. Bedtime Stories with Daniel. Stace [Nix] (53:05): We're not doing side pieces for Patreon. Alex [ChaCha] (53:07): That's our OnlyFans. Marietta [Atalia] (53:08): As a goal. Come on. Daniel [GM] (53:11): Yeah. That is against our bylaws of ethical behavior. Marietta [Atalia] (53:15): Bedtime stories? Daniel [GM] (53:16): Side pieces. Alex [ChaCha] (53:16): No, having someone be a side piece. Marietta [Atalia] (53:23): All right, y'all can leave now. I think we're done. That's it. That's the whole show. It was great to have you guys. We really appreciate you listening. See you next week. Sampson [Dili] (53:31): Anyway, Atalia got sent to the Dead Marshes.
