Daniel Andrlik 0:29 Welcome to Explorers Wanted. We are weekly Numenera actual play podcast. I will be your humble GM, Daniel Andrlik. With me today is Alex Finn. Alex Finn 0:42 So now my brain has decided to remember that time I went on to twitter.com and everyone's fighting about somebody queefing on Twitch. Stace Babcock 0:51 Why? Alex Finn 0:53 It was a thing! Daniel Andrlik 0:54 Stace Babcock. Stace Babcock 0:55 I'm just saying, why are people getting worked up about someone queefing on Twitch? Alex Finn 0:59 It might be because she queefed directly into the mic upon request, which I want to know, how do you get this power? Like, you heard the air suck in and then let out. And I'm just like, that is magic. You do not judge that, you marry that. Stace Babcock 1:15 Fair. Daniel Andrlik 1:15 And Sampson Davis. Sampson Davis 1:17 I don't know how to comment or build on any of this. So, I'm also here. Daniel Andrlik 1:24 So, who remembers what happened last time? I'm going to pick on Alex. Alex Finn 1:30 Last time after I broke everyone's brains. Okay, so we had this brilliant plan. We were gonna, like, sneak up on the Knyxos and then the fight 'em, and it would be fine. But we failed our stealth check. That's what last time was, failing stealth check, yeah? Sampson Davis 1:46 It's how we started, yeah. Alex Finn 1:47 Okay. Certain people got some hiccups. Kind of gave us away and then we found out that Deuces could hear heartbeats, which was impressive. Wish we could have turned him, but find out a little bit later. And ChaCha made a bad roll on Understanding Flammability. And because of how it was phrased to me, I knew that if I did not light it on fire, it would be one of those like metagaming moments, you know? You know what I mean. So there was a huge explosion that gave us a lot of damage, oopsie doodle, and we started a battle with Nix being the smart one and throwing her flame grenade. You know, instead of just exploding some Jade Egg we found out where the Jade Eggs and how they were made. It was Slurm. It was horrible. That will scar me forever. But we have a Jade Egg. We have it. We can exploit it. Make more. Anyway, so there was some fighting. We had a pretty good you know, team tactics. Teaming up, double, triple teaming Deuces, who unfortunately had to die. He was not okay with being turned. But that led us concentrating solely on Deuces led to Nix kind of getting stabbed in the leg, oopie doodle. We found out post combat she was going to lose that leg. Oh no. But Daniel the ever brilliant GM was just like "Hey, remember that? Like you've been carrying a whole time using as like a big old seal club or however you want to... Shillelagh." Stace Babcock 3:25 Wh-...A big ol' seal club? For clubbing seals, yeah. Alex Finn 3:29 Yeah. Sampson Davis 3:29 It's a crime, but it's a thing. Alex Finn 3:31 Yeah. Hey. Daniel Andrlik 3:33 Listen, Chacha is nature; red in tooth and claw. Alex Finn 3:36 Remember the seal coat? Remember? Stace Babcock 3:40 Yeah. Sampson Davis 3:40 Listeners haven't heard that one. Alex Finn 3:42 I know. Sampson Davis 3:42 I've never will! Stace Babcock 3:43 Why not? Alex Finn 3:44 That is for us only, we know what happened. We know the chaos we reigned, the chaos broken. Daniel Andrlik 3:51 My attempts to remaster that audio have not gone very well. Alex Finn 3:55 Weren't, like, I was just like constantly moving, squeak, squeak, squeakin'. Sampson Davis 4:00 I remember I had my gaming mic on and I... for a filter I wrapped, like, tissue around it. Daniel Andrlik 4:06 Yeah. Alex Finn 4:07 Listen how we've grown listener. Oh my god, release it and like preface that with a, "This is what you could have listened to as the first episode. You feel grateful yet?" Anyway. So we chose less chaos and didn't kill Doc Taraz, but Doc Taraz was like, "Nuh nuh nuh, force field", but helped us give Nix a robot leg. But through chaos... we shot off... Well, we had to leave because self-destructing I think. I don't really know. Daniel Andrlik 4:42 Countermeasures. Alex Finn 4:42 Countermeasures. It did destroy Doc Taraz's house, but I'm not sure what else it destroyed. We'll never know. After losing a day in our lives. Um, what else did we do? We saw some weird goo babies. What else did we see, because we decided to go the alternative route because there was a metal repelling thing, and I was just like, "Hey, Nix's leg is now metal. We don't want it to repel off." Because that could have been a thing. Dili did such good surgery on that leg, do we really want it ripped off? No. Yebudabujye, we made it out of the house, rocked it over to Mama J's, where Mama J's was like, "Yo, what the fuck? Why can't you be reasonable for once?" I feel like that was in her mind. And in her heart. We never do anything half-assed and then she's like, "Yo, Nix, Dili, I want to send you for some training because I can't really do anything with you here because you burn too many bridges. You're just way too sexy and hot." I added the sexy part in my mind. And so we're gonna go on a queest to go get training. ChaCha got a new coat. Daniel Andrlik 5:48 Well, those two are. Alex Finn 5:53 ChaCha is just walking, she's going on a walkabout, it's fine. Going to go get some milk from the corner store. Be right back! Daniel Andrlik 6:00 And we mentioned what Nix's leg does, right? Alex Finn 6:03 Oh yeah, she has Fleet of Foot now. Oh, oh. Oh, and Dili, Dili discovered one other thing. He was running from the Knyxos and discovered a place in Ward Ana where all the eel-faced Travelers were? Yes. Because of the boot. Nix only has one boot. Daniel Andrlik 6:25 Yes. Yeah. So the Travelers have distinctive boot designs and Dili recognized them from his session zero. Alex Finn 6:34 All those slow burns coming to task. Stace Babcock 6:36 I know. Alex Finn 6:37 Is that the phrase, I don't know. Sampson Davis 6:39 It's the phrase now. Daniel Andrlik 6:41 There was one other detail that you guys saw, it was some posters on the outside of town. Alex Finn 6:47 Oh, all of Nix's family is wanted now for a ton of money. Stace Babcock 6:52 Yeah. Alex Finn 6:52 And you get, like a boon from the Queen if you turn them all in. Daniel Andrlik 6:58 5000 shins each. Stace Babcock 7:00 I'm sure it's like, fine. Alex Finn 7:02 I't's not like that's a lot of money or anything. They just need to do cypher flipping like the rest of us. Come on. Daniel Andrlik 7:09 You guys have just seen this poster. And that's what we ended on. Stace Babcock 7:13 On our way out of town, right? We were like, at the gate when we saw it. Daniel Andrlik 7:18 Yeah, you were heading out of town. I think you guys might have been having some sort of internal debate about shopping. No, wait, you bought a bunch of equipment already. Alex Finn 7:26 No. Stace Babcock 7:27 No. Alex Finn 7:27 That was before the mission. Stace Babcock 7:29 Mama J was like, "Please don't go shopping." Sampson Davis 7:31 Yeah. Daniel Andrlik 7:32 Gotcha. Alex Finn 7:32 You just gave ChaCha a chartreuse coat. I never even checked the pockets. What are in the pockets? Stace Babcock 7:38 No, it was a lime green coat. Alex Finn 7:41 Yeah. Oversized. But we didn't check the pockets of the coat. Is there money in the pockets of the coat, Daniel? Is there anything fun in the pockets of the coat? Daniel Andrlik 7:50 Evens or odds? Alex Finn 7:51 Evens Daniel Andrlik 7:52 Sampson, roll a die, tell me if you get even or odd. Alex Finn 7:54 Don't your fuck me over, Sampson. Sampson Davis 7:57 Odd. Alex Finn 7:58 Damn it. Daniel Andrlik 7:59 Yeah, the pockets are empty. Alex Finn 8:00 Dammit. Sampson Davis 8:01 Sorry. Daniel Andrlik 8:02 Except for a baby mouse. Alex Finn 8:04 Is it alive? Daniel Andrlik 8:05 Yep, it is a live baby mouse, but it is the Ninth World so this mouse has antlers. Stace Babcock 8:13 *gasp* Daniel Andrlik 8:13 Which are not stapled on. Stace Babcock 8:14 It's so cute. Alex Finn 8:15 I love it. We have a pet. Sampson Davis 8:17 Was that a Scrooged reference? Daniel Andrlik 8:18 It was. Alex Finn 8:22 It is our pet now. I shall name it Hubert. Daniel Andrlik 8:25 Its eyes aren't even open yet. Alex Finn 8:27 Oh, this is perfect. Stace Babcock 8:28 Nix licks her lips. Sampson Davis 8:33 Oh, that's right. Daniel Andrlik 8:35 That's fair. Alex Finn 8:36 Nix, you can't eat Hubert, you can't. Hubert is my child. Stace Babcock 8:41 I won't eat Hubert........................ at all. Yeah, no, ChaCha, I won't eat Hubert. Sampson Davis 8:48 Insight check. Daniel Andrlik 8:49 He does make the most delicious sounding squeak though. Stace Babcock 8:52 I'll just have to, a....... Daniel Andrlik 8:55 Very much like child animal in distress call. If ChaCha is holding it out, as soon as Nix says, "I won't eat it ChaCha", even though its eyes are still closed it sort of turns, looks in the direction of the noise, sniffs the air, and then immediately begins squealing and backing up in ChaCha's hand. Alex Finn 9:16 Hubert goes back in the pocket. Daniel Andrlik 9:18 Okay. Sampson Davis 9:19 Can we get out of the city now? These watches posters are not calming me down. Also, sorry Nix, or congrats on your new high score? How do we feel about this? Stace Babcock 9:29 It is real achievement, Dili. I feel like it takes a lot to get a 5000 shin bounty. Yeah. Sampson Davis 9:36 Yeah. Stace Babcock 9:37 Each. And the boon for the hat trick. That's nice. Alex Finn 9:40 Yeah, I mean that, it's going to be really hard to beat. Stace Babcock 9:44 It's just nice to feel wanted, you know? Like, someone out there is thinking about you enough to put yo on-..., no, Nix wouldn't really say that. Alex Finn 9:54 Like you're stealing ChaCha's thunder. Stace Babcock 9:58 Oh, yeah. I mean, I don't really know how much more wanted I am than I was before, you know? There's a point where it was, you know, it was already a lot of shins. Right, right, past a certain limit it all just kind of feels the same, you know? Yeah, exactly. You've been fleeing in terror for so long, you know, or openly committing questionable acts. Whichever. Sampson Davis 10:19 Well, maybe not openly. Also, speaking of which we should we're walking and talking. We're walking and talking, right? Stace Babcock 10:24 Oh, yeah. Try to keep up, Dili. Alex Finn 10:28 I feel like we're pretty open about most of our questionable acts, actually. Daniel Andrlik 10:33 So I have a question for you guys. Are you heading directly out of town? Or is there anywhere you're going to make a stop along the way? I know you were talking at one point about stopping at the Wayhouse before leaving. I don't know if that was still the plan or not. Stace Babcock 10:47 No. I think if there is a Wayhouse that,... close to on the way Nix would want to try to stop at one. Daniel Andrlik 10:54 There's one Wayhouse on the way out of town. It's the one where Pathfinder Jen is, but that's the only Wayhouse in Charmonde proper. Sampson Davis 11:03 Is there a south gate? I was kind of imagining us just going like straight south as directly as we can at this point. Daniel Andrlik 11:10 You would have to go by river then. Because that's the way out to the south. Sampson Davis 11:15 How the fuck do we get out of the city? Alex Finn 11:16 Can you swim, Dili, and how far? Stace Babcock 11:18 You just walk out. Like, no one's trying to stop you from walking out, Dili. Like.... Sampson Davis 11:23 I don't believe you. Daniel Andrlik 11:24 I'm pretty sure Dili disguised you all. Sampson Davis 11:26 Yes, I did do that. Stace Babcock 11:27 Yeah. Like, like tier one. Alex Finn 11:32 Babies. Stace Babcock 11:33 Yeah. Gonna go die. This isn't our first rodeo, this is our second. Do you want to stop by the Wayhouse? I kind of have a lot of questions, but also appreciate the need to get out of the city, guys, so... Alex Finn 11:50 I mean, there's gonna be another house right? Just in a different city? Stace Babcock 11:54 "They're all over the place." Daniel, is there and another one in the known general route? Daniel Andrlik 12:00 Yes, but not in the direction you guys are supposed to go. Because in theory, you guys are supposed to be going to the south east towards the mountains of the Black Riage. Stace Babcock 12:10 Alright, yeah, let me pop in there. See if they have any info on anything new happening between here and Mountain's Bone. Always good to get that information? Sampson Davis 12:20 Right and quick question. They're not gonna turn you in, right? Like if you, if you go in there and then like, show your face Jen's not gonna like, say like, "Hey, just wait in this room for a little bit." And then guards and then problems. Stace Babcock 12:34 I don't think Jen, Pathfinder Jen would turn me in, no. I mean, there might be a job like last time. Sampson Davis 12:40 Oh, yeah. Yeah. Stace Babcock 12:42 We don't have to stop, Dili. We can just sort of wing it. Sampson Davis 12:46 If you have questions you shopuld probably get them answered before we take another month sabbatical. Stace Babcock 12:51 All right. Yeah. Alex Finn 12:52 Or the Queen burns it down because it's associated with you. Daniel Andrlik 12:56 Okay. Stace Babcock 12:56 You should just drop my disguise. When we get in there. Yeah, yeah. Daniel Andrlik 13:02 So you guys get to the Wayouse and it looks pretty much the same as usual except that you see two city guards stationed outside the door. Stace Babcock 13:10 You know.... Sampson Davis 13:12 Nah, not feeling it. Alex Finn 13:13 Maybe this isn't the greatest idea. Well, we could distract them and then you could just, you know, pop on in. As long as you stay in eyesight. Stace Babcock 13:22 Naaaah. Alex Finn 13:23 Of Dili. Your disguise will be on until you get in the door. And we just have to do something weird. Sampson Davis 13:30 I think we're a little too hot. Stace Babcock 13:31 Yeah, I think... Daniel Andrlik 13:32 Sounds like a reasonable plan to me. Alex Finn 13:34 Sounds like a plan that could get us XP, just saying. Sampson Davis 13:38 I'm gonna need to know the XP up front. Stace Babcock 13:41 I think I'll just write a nice letter. Sampson Davis 13:44 Sounds like zero XP. We should go. Stace Babcock 13:46 Yeah, like I said, I'll write a nice letter to the, to the Proving Grounds. See what they, see what they know. Sampson Davis 13:52 Right, yeah. Stace Babcock 13:53 Yeah. Alex Finn 13:54 I mean, we couuuuuld...... Sampson Davis 13:57 ChaCha, no. Daniel Andrlik 13:58 Okay. Alex Finn 14:00 Just like a quick peek or something. Sampson Davis 14:03 ChaCha, no, walkies. Outside. Alex Finn 14:05 So you guys are paying me? Daniel Andrlik 14:07 It is true. Chacha is technically a contractor in all this. Sampson Davis 14:11 You know what, sure, why not? Daniel Andrlik 14:13 Mama Jerrun did leave that up to you. Because until you get to your supervising Guardian, you don't get any assigned budget. So, you are on your own. If you are contracting ChaCha to help you with this part of your journey. Stace Babcock 14:28 I'm carrying your money for you, ChaCha, I feel like that's a service. I feel like that it's the togetherness that really matters. You know what I'm saying? Alex Finn 14:35 Oh, I thought like Mama J would have given you money to give to me so we could split that money and do any like shopping we needed to do. Stace Babcock 14:45 Oh, no, we don't get money until we get there. And then we will split it three ways. Yeah. Alex Finn 14:51 Duh, we're going to game the system. Stace Babcock 14:53 Yeah. Sampson Davis 14:54 Sure. Daniel Andrlik 14:55 Okay. So you guys are heading out of town. Alex Finn 14:58 So boat or walking? Stace Babcock 15:00 We're walking. Daniel Andrlik 15:01 Oh, yeah. Well, if you went by the Wayhouse you're walking unless you plan to turn around and go the other way. Sampson Davis 15:07 Let's just get out. What side of the city is the main gate? Alex Finn 15:11 Weest? Sampson Davis 15:11 Weest. Daniel Andrlik 15:12 West, yeah. Alex Finn 15:14 Sooo, we're going west. Stace Babcock 15:16 Yeah, we're gonna have to curl around the... oh, well, just a little, right? That's good, or no, we're heading southeast, right? Sampson Davis 15:21 Yeah, southeast, along the Riage. Stace Babcock 15:23 Just have to take a little walk around the walls. Alex Finn 15:26 But then how are we getting across the river? Sampson Davis 15:28 Doesn't the river run west to east? Or east to west, I guess. Daniel Andrlik 15:32 Yeah, west to east. But it also comes out to the south east. But it doesn't like completely block your way. If you go south a little ways, like, you could get around it. You wouldn't have to deal with the river again. If you're going to Mountain's Bone, you know that you can pretty much bypass the river because you have to go pretty much directly south east to get all the way into the foothills of the mountains. You would know that up, or rather Nix would know that from her where she's already walked on her travels. Chacha would probably have a vague idea once she got farther south because ChaCha has spent some time in the mountains if not necessarily the mountains that border Navarene. Stace Babcock 16:17 If we went out the west gate, and we're going back around the city, at some point, we're going to have to cross the river. Alex Finn 16:22 So the river goes like doot, and then doot. And we're going doo. Here's the river. And then we're going doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo. Stace Babcock 16:30 Okay. Daniel Andrlik 16:31 Yeah, if you were going to cross the river again that would mean that you were heading so directly east to get to the foothills that you cross it again. Whereas if you head south, then go overland you can avoid it. Alex Finn 16:47 Soo, walking. Stace Babcock 16:48 Yeah. Nix will pull out her map, start planning, sleeping spots, how far they can get, expect to get, she shares various landmarks. Daniel Andrlik 16:57 Those maps that I'd find on your inventory? Stace Babcock 17:00 Nix has a map. Alex Finn 17:01 ChaCha shares her no-no map. Stace Babcock 17:03 And Mama J gave us a map. And Nix has the pat, the attempted, the map where she attempted to plan out her mom's teleportation location. Daniel Andrlik 17:12 Oh, that's right. Gotcha. Okay, that's fair. So you guys start heading southeast. Nobody stops you. I mean, people coming and going from this larger city is not anything unusual. And if they're looking for Nix they're probably, even with Nix in disguise, they're probably looking for a larger number of people because they're expecting Nix's family and her accomplices. Okay, so you guys get out of the city? And I'm assuming you're heading south east based off of all of your silent nods. Everyone 17:45 Yes. Daniel Andrlik 17:47 Okay. So then my question is, are you doing anything along the way? And are you specifically following any roads? Are you trying to avoid roads? What is the approach that you're taking in your journey? Alex Finn 18:01 I think go directly? Sampson Davis 18:03 For sure Dili is keeping disguise up, at least the first week out of the city, just in case any far striding guards get a good idea. Daniel Andrlik 18:13 Okay. So you are sticking close to the road then. Stace Babcock 18:19 I think Nix actually would want to stay on the roads. Daniel Andrlik 18:23 Yeah, that would actually probably be safer in terms of like monsters or other dangers. Stace Babcock 18:28 ChaCha, generally speaking, I like to stay on the roads. Alex Finn 18:32 I mean, I guess, but it's harder to find food if you're staying on the road because everybody's on the road. Stace Babcock 18:40 "Yeah, but I, ah...", and she kind of looks at Dili and then looks back at ChaCha. And she says, "I don't know if rough terrain is, is going to, is a good idea." Alex Finn 18:51 I think ChaCha follows Nix's gaze and is like, "I mean, I guess, but when will it be?" Stace Babcock 18:59 That's good point, ChaCha, we should pick up the pace. Alex Finn 19:02 Cardio is important. Stace Babcock 19:04 "You got to build those muscles." They're not being, or at least Nix isn't being quiet about this. So... Alex Finn 19:09 No. ChaCha isn't either. Sampson Davis 19:12 I think Dili was like looking back and forth, kind of like when you have to like spell out a word because your dog is in the room. And then it clicks for him and he's just like, "Oh, God. Fuck. Can we least walk in the mornings?" Alex Finn 19:24 Why would you want to walk at high noon? Sampson Davis 19:27 Because, I don't.... Alex Finn 19:29 That's like 10 times sweatier. And harder. Sampson Davis 19:32 Wait, are we traveling by night? Alex Finn 19:34 If you want to stay cool. And if you're awake during the night, then you avoid those monsters? Sampson Davis 19:41 Right... I don't really travel so whatever you two feel is gonna get us there alive. Let's go with that one. Stace Babcock 19:47 Honestly. Yeah, I think it's just blending in with the people you know, the other people. Sampson Davis 19:53 I got that one. Yep. Stace Babcock 19:54 Yeah. Can't really blend in with monsters. Yet. Nix like flexes her jaw. Alex Finn 20:06 I mean Dili really need to catch up on this whole being more than human thing. Stace Babcock 20:13 I-... sure, yeah, I'll work, work on that. Alex Finn 20:16 If you could just develop a little inhuman quirk that would make the rest of us feel really welcome. Daniel Andrlik 20:23 Wha-, you hear in your head, Dili, "That's actually pretty funny." Sampson Davis 20:27 I think Dili actually goes like, "Shut up!", like, out loud. He's like, "Oh yeah, I will get, I'll work on. I'll do my best. I'll do some more meditations and try to find the..." Alex Finn 20:39 I think talking to yourself is a start. Maybe someone will answer. Stace Babcock 20:43 Honestly, walking through any arch that you see is going to get results. At some point. Alex Finn 20:49 You got a cool scar. Stace Babcock 20:51 Yeah, embroidery is very nice. Have your name on my hip bone forever now. Daniel Andrlik 20:56 Oh, that's right, Dili is still hindered for a while now. Stace Babcock 21:00 On your hip bone? Alex Finn 21:01 That's not where your spleen is. Stace Babcock 21:02 Am I confused about where your spleen? Sampson Davis 21:05 I don't know where my spleen is. Alex Finn 21:07 Okay, okay, one second listeners I'm fucking googling this because it's not in your hip bone. I know that. Stace Babcock 21:13 I'm pretty sure it's in the abdominal region. Alex Finn 21:15 Spleen location. Sampson Davis 21:17 Yeah. And like the hip bones like right there. They had to like, open, I assumed ChaCha had to like open it up. Stace Babcock 21:23 Oh, I have no idea where your spleen is then. Alex Finn 21:26 No, you're... Okay, your spleen is next to your stomach below your lung. So it's in your ribs. Sampson Davis 21:33 Oh. Alex Finn 21:34 Let me just drop this. Sampson Davis 21:36 What's it doing there? Stace Babcock 21:38 That's not where Dili's is, okay. Sampson Davis 21:41 Yeah, what is this the 9th or 12th world? Daniel Andrlik 21:44 Yeah, ChaCha has those little raccoon hands. Who knows what way she decided to go in for entry. Alex Finn 21:49 She went in through the belly button. Sampson Davis 21:52 I just made it more efficient while I was in there. It's fine. Daniel Andrlik 21:56 He's just got like her name all across his tummy. Sampson Davis 21:59 Property of. Daniel Andrlik 22:01 Yeah, the belly button is the hyphen between ChaCha. Stace Babcock 22:03 Brought to you by ChaCha. Alex Finn 22:05 Oh, ChaCha's. Sampson Davis 22:07 Oh, that's much higher up than I thought it was. Alex Finn 22:09 Yeah. I was like, no, no, your spleen's not that low. Nah, I should know. Sampson Davis 22:14 Should you? Alex Finn 22:15 Wow. I just know where most body organs are. Stace Babcock 22:19 You just so, yes, I understand why but also totally on brand. Daniel Andrlik 22:28 So the first couple days of your route are pretty normal. Not much happens. At one point, you do encounter a small group of explorers, adventurers heading in the direction of Charmonde. They're kind of shifty looking people. But you realize in retrospect that if you weren't wearing disguises, that's probably how people would view your guys' appearance as sort of shifty and strange looking. Just because of everything you've been through. Alex Finn 22:57 Burned, covered in blood, etc, etc. Daniel Andrlik 22:59 Yeah. So I assume you're not interacting with them. Stace Babcock 23:05 Oh, yeah, Nix will say like, "Hey!" They're walking toward us, right? Sampson Davis 23:08 Yeah. Daniel Andrlik 23:09 Yeah, they'd be meeting you along the road. Alex Finn 23:11 Yeah, we're gonna interact with them. We're not rude. Stace Babcock 23:13 She'll be like, "Hey, what news of the road ahead?" Daniel Andrlik 23:17 So their group is made up of two women and one man, one of the women steps forward and says, "It's pretty quiet out there. We did have a problem with a Slavug a little ways ahead. In your direction, anyway. But we took care of that." Stace Babcock 23:31 Oh, that's good to know. Where abouts was that? Daniel Andrlik 23:33 Oh, two days ahead. Stace Babcock 23:35 Okay. Daniel Andrlik 23:36 Well, there's a part of the road there that gets a little close to the tree line and we camped for the night and the thing came out of the forest. Stace Babcock 23:43 Yeah, no, we'll definitely keep an eye out. Anything for changing rations, but nothing, nothing the way we came between here and the city. It's all pretty chill. Alex Finn 23:53 Which direction is that tree? Stace Babcock 23:55 That's northwest of the city. Alex Finn 23:57 Okay. Daniel Andrlik 23:59 Which tree? Sampson Davis 24:00 The giving tree that we talked to, right after the ruins. Stace Babcock 24:06 The one I try not to think about. oh, I don't know what ChaCha is planning right now, like to learn them over there or something. Alex Finn 24:12 I mean...whaaat? Daniel Andrlik 24:15 That tree was not to the west, I don't think, I think it was more directly south. Sampson Davis 24:23 Really? Daniel Andrlik 24:23 Yeah. Because it was near the ruins of Kamathin and then you came out on the trade road heading back. Alex Finn 24:31 Ah, maybe stay further away from the trees like Sampson Davis 24:35 No, I have the ruins in the northwest. Daniel Andrlik 24:37 Really? Sampson Davis 24:37 Yeah. Daniel Andrlik 24:38 I trust your notes. I would have to go back and listen to be sure. Alex Finn 24:42 I know we popped out in a weird location though. It was a pseudo, really close to the road is why I was wondering. Daniel Andrlik 24:51 It was pretty close to the road. But even if it's not exactly where that tree would be, ChaCha's advice to stay away from the tree line is never a bad suggestion. Sampson Davis 25:00 Oh, for sure. Stace Babcock 25:01 Oh, yeah. And not sure if this matters to you guys or not, but city guard is out pretty heavy. Daniel Andrlik 25:08 Oh, I mean, yeah, that makes sense. Our headman of our village has a communication device that has a connection to the Crown. And we're actually heading to Charmonde because he found news of like a really rich bounty. And that's what we do. We're bounty hunters. In fact, I don't know if you know anything about or if you've seen anyone from the Sladik family on your journeys. Sampson Davis 25:34 Noo. Stace Babcock 25:35 That must be that poster we saw on our way out, huh? Is that what that was? Oh, hmm. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was, that was, that was the biggest bounty I've ever seen. Honestly. Yeah, yeah. Daniel Andrlik 25:46 Oh, wow. Well, wait, are you guys in the biz? Stace Babcock 25:49 Nah. Alex Finn 25:50 not really. We're more in items recovery than people. Daniel Andrlik 25:54 Mmm, all right. Well, you guys are missing out. I mean, this bounty is so big. I mean, we close this one, and we're all set to retire. So we're very excited. Sampson Davis 26:04 Nice. Alex Finn 26:05 Oh, I've got a really hot tip for you on it, though. You should go check out like Ward Ana. There's like a bunch of good information there about this whole situation. The shadows know all. Daniel Andrlik 26:17 Okay. But you're not really lying, but you are trying to mislead. So give me a Deception roll of 15. Alex Finn 26:26 16. Daniel Andrlik 26:27 That's good to know. We'll check it out. We're hoping we'll have a leg up because Jan here has connections there. Alex Finn 26:35 Oh? Daniel Andrlik 26:36 And this other woman looks up. She's got reddish auburn hair and these dark eyes and crisscross scars on her chin. And she says, "For the last time, It's Janimise." "Yeah, yeah. Janimise here has a cousin there. What's his name? Starts with a 'D'." Alex Finn 26:57 No. Daniel Andrlik 26:58 Dominic. No, Alex Finn 27:00 Don't do it. Daniel Andrlik 27:01 Donovan. His name is Donovan. Alex Finn 27:05 Oh, wait, you know Donovan? Daniel Andrlik 27:07 Yeah. I mean, he's my cousin. We catch up every once in a while. Alex Finn 27:10 We're tight. You should be good people then. You know, watch your back. Daniel Andrlik 27:15 Oh, okay. So what's your name? Alex Finn 27:18 Everybody likes to call me ChaCha. But like, I have a lot of names, honestly. He'll know. Daniel Andrlik 27:25 At this point I will offer you an XP. Alex Finn 27:27 Yes. Daniel Andrlik 27:28 Who will you give the other XP to? Alex Finn 27:30 Okay, so how are y'all with your tiering quest? Sampson Davis 27:34 I have the XP to tier up. I just haven't done it. Stace Babcock 27:37 I need two more XP to tier up. Alex Finn 27:40 Okay, Stace. Stace Babcock 27:42 Thank you. Daniel Andrlik 27:42 Huh. That's a weird coincidence. There's a individual named ChaCha that's associated with this bounty. I'm not, as a primary quarry, but you know, just somebody who is an accomplice of one of the fugitives. It's ah, uncommon name, but you don't match the description. Alex Finn 28:02 I know, that's really weird. Daniel Andrlik 28:03 "Yeah, it is." Janimise squints, "What are the rest of your names?" Sampson Davis 28:08 My name is "Bork". Daniel Andrlik 28:10 Your name is Bork? Sampson Davis 28:12 Bork! Daniel Andrlik 28:12 Okay, Dili, this is going to be Deception roll. Your illusion will help you which makes it a nine. And you have a free level of mental effort, which makes it a 6. Sampson Davis 28:22 Natural 20! Alex Finn 28:23 Hell yeah. Daniel Andrlik 28:24 What would you propose as a major effect? Alex Finn 28:27 ChaCha is a common name in another village? Oh, Bork is a common name. Sampson Davis 28:33 Oh, Bork is for sure a common. I want something better. Major effect, I want one of them, someone, the one who hasn't like spoken yet, if there is one, to kind of get bored and impatient and try to like Minnesota goodbye this conversation to an end. Daniel Andrlik 28:51 Okay. So that individual, the man, the man-person, starts getting a little antsy and says, "We got to get going. Delay, the longer we wait to get there, the colder the trail is going to be." Sampson Davis 29:04 I also heard a lot of people talking about that job when we are on our way out. It seems like, yeah, as you're saying, 5000, that's a lot of money. Stace Babcock 29:10 A lot of buzz. Yeah. Sampson Davis 29:12 Yeah. Daniel Andrlik 29:13 "Yeah", Janimise, looks at you guys and looks at Nix and says, "I didn't catch your name." Stace Babcock 29:18 Oh, yeah. It's Ardolo. Daniel Andrlik 29:21 Okay, so that's gonna be Deception roll. Your specialized, so that's gonna make it a 6. Stace Babcock 29:26 Once second, I didn't have my app open. 14. Daniel Andrlik 29:28 You know, math rocks never need to be opened. Stace Babcock 29:31 The math rocks are all the way over there. I'd have to stand up Alex Finn 29:34 Math racks are edible. Come on. Daniel Andrlik 29:38 Okay, so what did you get again, Stace? Stace Babcock 29:40 14. Daniel Andrlik 29:40 Okay, so, Janimise's kind of eyes ChaCha wearily and says, "All right. Well, have, ah, good travels. Hopefully it stays safe for you. Where did you say you guys were heading again?" Stace Babcock 29:53 Oh, we heard that there was a decent, like, cave structure not that far from here. We're trying to find some, some items to sell. So... Daniel Andrlik 30:04 Okay, I'm gonna make you roll Deception for that again, because that was a terribly structured lie. Stace Babcock 30:09 I know, so sorry, that was rude. God. Got an 18 this time. Daniel Andrlik 30:14 Perfect. So she says, "All right, well, safe travels." Sampson Davis 30:19 You too. Alex Finn 30:20 Don't disappoint me. Stace Babcock 30:21 I'm still laughing over "poorly structured lie", cause it was. Once they're far enough away Nix is going to try to sort of turn around and use her viewport thing, her wrist thing to get a closer look at... Geminus? Sampson Davis 30:36 Janice? Daniel Andrlik 30:37 Janimise. Stace Babcock 30:38 The one, that the mean one, Janimise. Daniel Andrlik 30:41 So you use the viewport, and, it, you can see she's got that, you know, dark red hair. Obviously she has this crisscross scars, but you can't see them because her back is to you. But you can see, since the viewport is so zoomed in multiple bulges in the back of her cloak, which you would presume would be for a number of weapons. There are a surprising number of bulges amidst her clothing of that nature. Now role 1d10 for me for depletion. Stace Babcock 31:14 Okay. 10. Daniel Andrlik 31:15 Okay, so your viewport remains fully functional. Stace Babcock 31:20 Wonder if we'll ever see them again. Alex Finn 31:22 Oh, definitely. Sampson Davis 31:24 I don't know. They seemed like throwaway NPCs. Alex Finn 31:28 You say that, but like we, they were named. They were named. Sampson Davis 31:32 One of them was. Speaking of names, ChaCha you can't give your real name. Even I know that. Alex Finn 31:38 Technically, it's not my real name. Stace Babcock 31:40 Well, you shouldn't give the name you go by, you know? Alex Finn 31:44 I mean, like, what else would I go with? Stace Babcock 31:46 Oh, anything, like go wild, ChaCha, like anything you want it to be? Sampson Davis 31:52 Yeah. Alex Finn 31:52 I could be named, "Stace". Sampson Davis 31:54 Or "Sequoia". That's a word I just made up. Alex Finn 31:57 What's a "Sequoia"? Sampson Davis 31:58 I don't know. Stace Babcock 31:59 Oh, they're a species of monster, at least that's what I've heard from like Beyond The Beyond. Really? I thought I just made that up. Alex Finn 32:07 These are things I will have to debate. Daniel Andrlik 32:11 Okay, so you go on. The next two days of travel are relatively uneventful and then you reach that spot that they were talking about where the road gets close to the tree line. And it is at night at this point. Alex Finn 32:24 This is why you travel during the night. This, this is literally what I was trying to tell you all. Sampson Davis 32:29 To do what, like what, what are you talking about? Alex Finn 32:31 We are near those trees they were saying they got attacked by and it is the dead of night now. Stace Babcock 32:38 Oh yeah, I think we just keep moving especially in this first 24, 28 hours out of the city, guys, cause... Daniel Andrlik 32:43 Oh no, you're- Stace Babcock 32:44 Oh, how long has it been? Daniel Andrlik 32:46 Like, four days out. Stace Babcock 32:47 Oh, shoot. Sampson Davis 32:48 Wow, Nix, you just go into a trance, it just... Stace Babcock 32:50 Yeah, we should have stopped, like, six.... Daniel Andrlik 32:56 I do kind of love the idea that you guys have been traveling for four days and Nix has just been on autopilot. Just pointing out things about the landscape like monsters that she's fought and things like that. Just like she did that first night camping on your journey together to the Ruins of Kamathin. Alex Finn 33:12 Occasionally carrying both ChaCha and Dili when they pass out. Sampson Davis 33:17 Dili's made a little harness that ChaCha and I can just like, swap in and out whenever someone needs to sleep. Stace Babcock 33:24 Wish I had my cart guys. It's too bad. Alex Finn 33:28 True. Sampson Davis 33:29 Yeah. Stace Babcock 33:30 "All right. We got to keep an eye out for...." Daniel. I honestly couldn't hear what you said. What was the type of monster? Daniel Andrlik 33:37 It was a Slavug. Which Nix you would know is sort of like a gigantic snail with a very hard shell. They can be dangerous, especially since that shell provides excellent armor. But they are mostly known for being extremely decadent eating. Stace Babcock 33:56 Yeah, if we get lucky we might come across one. Sampson Davis 33:59 Are they easy to deal with? Stace Babcock 34:01 Aaah.... Alex Finn 34:03 Define easy. Stace Babcock 34:04 Depends . Sampson Davis 34:05 On what? Stace Babcock 34:06 Oh, you know how big they are, how vicious they are, you know, there's a lot, there's variety. Sampson Davis 34:12 Oh. Daniel Andrlik 34:13 Yeah, and I would say, Nix, you can sort of translate this however it would make sense. But you know that that shell comparatively gives them an effective armor of three. Stace Babcock 34:24 Yeah, you really, a dart thrower is not going to do it but like it's not. It just takes a little time. You know what I'm saying? Alex Finn 34:32 I gave Dili a gun now. Daniel Andrlik 34:34 Dili has a Pew Pew gun now. Sampson Davis 34:35 I do have a Pew Pew gun. Daniel Andrlik 34:36 And it ignores armor. Alex Finn 34:38 You're Pew Pew'd up. Sampson Davis 34:39 That's another thing I need to trick out. After you're leg though. Stace Babcock 34:43 Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, maybe that's what Ni-, Nix just like, when there's no people, no other people on the road she'll just like bound ahead and then bound back. Daniel Andrlik 34:56 Like an excited cocker spaniel? Alex Finn 34:57 Yeah. Sampson Davis 34:58 Nick has zoomies. Stace Babcock 34:59 She'll like, "Nothing around that corner guys. All right, I'll check the next one. Be right back. Scream if you need me." Sampson Davis 35:05 Sounds good. Daniel Andrlik 35:06 Okay, so this road is going to follow the treeline for most of the night. So you are going to have to camp somewhere. Stace Babcock 35:12 I mean, might as well camp. You guys are the people who travel. So if this is a good idea then yeah. Daniel Andrlik 35:18 Okay, so who's gonna take first watch? Or are you guys not doing watches? Stace Babcock 35:23 Oh, I got first watch. Yeah, yeah, we should go on the other side though, the road, away from the treeline. Sampson Davis 35:30 Okay, we'll do that. Daniel Andrlik 35:31 Okay, see you set up camp. Nix, give me a perception role of 15. Stace Babcock 35:37 Ooh, that's a 2. Daniel Andrlik 35:40 That is a GM intrusion. So, Nix, absolutely nothing happens during your watch. Stace Babcock 35:48 Can I add a little flavor to Nix's watch? Daniel Andrlik 35:51 Sure. Stace Babcock 35:52 Alright. So, on her watch, by the light of the low coals of the fire, Nix gets out her journal and flips back several pages with writing that's been crossed out and then changed and then crossed out. And at the top of like five pages it says, "Dear Atalia", and then everything under is crossed out. And then tonight, she starts again, "Dear Atalia", and writes. But by the time her shift ends she's crossed it all back out again. Alex Finn 36:24 Very nice. Sampson Davis 36:25 Actually kind of teared me up a little bit. Damnit, Stace. Daniel Andrlik 36:30 Okay, so Nix is so focused on trying to write this response that she doesn't notice anything during her watch. Who has second watch? Sampson Davis 36:41 Dili can take second watch. Daniel Andrlik 36:42 Okay, so Dili, you get up. And Nix goes to sleep. Stace Babcock 36:47 Wait, Nix, before you go to sleep tonight, kind of, is it, with your consent? Can I kind of work on your leg a little bit? Oh, yeah. Sampson Davis 36:53 Cool. Stace Babcock 36:53 Yeah. If you're gonna do anything, like, give me a heads up, but if you're just checking it out, that's fine. Sampson Davis 36:57 Right now I'm just making initial notes. Stace Babcock 37:01 Okay, yeah. Sampson Davis 37:01 Planning. I'm in the planning stages. That's it. Daniel Andrlik 37:03 Okay, so are you just looking at the leg? Or are you detaching it to examine it? Stace Babcock 37:12 Is it detachable in that way? Alex Finn 37:14 I think it probably has like a little.... Daniel Andrlik 37:16 Yeah, the socket that Doc Taraz designed had a socket like that. Sampson Davis 37:19 Okay. Can I detach it, Nix? I'll just, I'll just look. Eyes only. Stace Babcock 37:25 Yeah. Sampson Davis 37:26 Alright. Daniel Andrlik 37:26 Nix, it will be difficult for you to sleep if Dili's touching it because it does give you sensory feedback. Sampson Davis 37:35 I'm not touching. She didn't want me to touch. I'm just looking. Alex Finn 37:38 Still, the feeling of someone watching you while you sleep. That's how I wake up. Stace Babcock 37:43 I feel like Nix would not care. Alex Finn 37:45 Oh. Daniel Andrlik 37:46 Okay. Dili, give me a Perception roll of 9. Sampson Davis 37:51 9 exactly. Alex Finn 37:52 Oh, sweet. Daniel Andrlik 37:53 Okay, so you see an unusually large, like, from the first knuckle of your thumb to the tip sized blue beetle crawl across Nix's leg. Sampson Davis 38:07 Is this a, do I know this beetle? Do I recognizes the species? Daniel Andrlik 38:11 No. Sampson Davis 38:12 Dili will grab a nearby stick and just kind of flick it off. And then quickly kind of lean back just in case there's a fucking robot kick coming at me. Daniel Andrlik 38:20 Okay. You flick it off. And a few moments later, you see another beetle crawl across her leg. Sampson Davis 38:26 Dili will stand up this time, kind of do a circle. Flick it off again. Daniel Andrlik 38:31 Okay, give me a Perception roll of 9. Sampson Davis 38:35 14. Daniel Andrlik 38:36 Okay, so you see another two beetles crawling across ChaCha's cloak. And you see another beetle crawl across Nix's chest. Sampson Davis 38:48 "Just got, ah, probably better if I just wake them up." And I will start waking up Nix and then ChaCha. "I think, I think we're sleeping on like a bug nest or something." Stace Babcock 38:59 Ugh. Daniel Andrlik 39:00 As Nix and ChaCha wake up, can everybody give me a Perception roll of 12. Sampson Davis 39:07 6 Stace Babcock 39:08 14 Alex Finn 39:09 14. Twins? Daniel Andrlik 39:11 Okay, Dili, maybe you're just too nervous at the moment to pick any details out but ChaCha and Nix, you hear this scuttling all around you on the ground, like the sound of thousands of large insects moving amongst the grass. Stace Babcock 39:30 Oh, oh, gosh. Nix, will pull out one of her glow globes. Daniel Andrlik 39:36 Pretty much exactly what it sounds like. When you hold up your light you see hundreds if not thousands of these blue beetles around your camp. Stace Babcock 39:43 You guys want to go? Alex Finn 39:45 Yeah. Sampson Davis 39:46 Ah, can we? Stace Babcock 39:48 Yeah, yeah, let's just, let's just go. Daniel Andrlik 39:51 Okay. You hear a voice that says, "Oh, don't do that just yet." And you see a man walk out of the woods, about 6 feet tall. His flesh is covered in these blue beetles. They part around his mouth to let him speak and they squirm around, they move out of the way of his eyes so that he can see you. But he is covered head to toe in these blue beetles. Stace Babcock 40:20 No, appreciate the invitation but we're, we are gonna, we're just gonna leave you to whatever you're doing like, love it. Think it's great, you do you, but we're gonna bounce, alright? Daniel Andrlik 40:31 No, I must insist on an opportunity to show you my hospitality. Stace Babcock 40:37 "No, like you're, like, like I said really appreciate the invitation. Generally speaking, don't accept invitations from strangers on the road. So we're gonna go." And Nix will start to walk away. Daniel Andrlik 40:50 Okay, as you turn to walk away the beetles that are in that direction on the ground all kind of scuttle and rear up and open their pinchers and they spit this fluid out onto the ground in front of you. Sampson Davis 41:04 Hey, this doesn't feel like hospitality anymore. Daniel Andrlik 41:06 "Oh, no, it's just that my friends are insistent." And he holds out a hand and you can see for a moment the beetles scuttle away showning the palm of his hand before they scuttle back and covered it again. Stace Babcock 41:18 So, I'm gonna need to know a little bit more about your intentions because they don't seem great. You seem to be a little coercive, you know what I'm saying, it's not a good first impression. Daniel Andrlik 41:31 Oh, I just wanted to get a closer look at your face. Stace Babcock 41:34 No. Daniel Andrlik 41:35 Where are your parents, Nix Slaydek. Sampson Davis 41:38 Oh shit. Stace Babcock 41:39 Who is Nix? Daniel Andrlik 41:41 You can certainly try. I mean, it'll be a Social role. I mean, he's had your whole watch to study you. So it's gonna be a Social roll of 24. Stace Babcock 41:52 I'll be like, "Can Nix do this?", and then bite him. 24, gosh, so that just, 18 makes it possible. Sampson Davis 42:02 Can Dili help? Daniel Andrlik 42:03 How would Dili help? Sampson Davis 42:04 By casting a subtle illusion that kind of changes her face a little bit so it's still like looks, it looks like somebody who looks like Nix in like low fire light, but now that he has come closer is definitely like, "Oh, wait, maybe that's not." Alex Finn 42:21 That's not my buddy. Daniel Andrlik 42:22 Normally I would give that to you. But since this came out of a GM intrusion, and he's had a long time to study Nix. Sampson Davis 42:29 Yeah. Alex Finn 42:29 Can ChaCha set a fire on something? Stace Babcock 42:32 I got a 4. Alex Finn 42:34 Oh, god. Daniel Andrlik 42:36 Yes. You're Nix. And let's see, you're Adilibrim, and you must be Chansey or ChaCha, the postings are sometimes different. Alex Finn 42:50 I mean, prove it? Sampson Davis 42:52 I'm not usually the intimidating type, but I guarantee that this is not worth however many shins you think you're going to get. Daniel Andrlik 42:58 Oh, Dili. That's very good. That's so good I'm going to give you an asset on that. Sampson Davis 43:03 Oh, good. Daniel Andrlik 43:05 So I think that's gonna make it 15. Alex Finn 43:08 Could ChaCha assist? Daniel Andrlik 43:10 How would ChaCha like to assist with this intimidation? Alex Finn 43:13 Okay. Using Cirque du Soleil, ChaCha would like to enable that natural creepiness you get from Cirque du Soleil, like that just otherworldly creepiness. Daniel Andrlik 43:25 Okay, I'll give that to you. So that would bring it down to a 12. Sampson Davis 43:29 All right, both levels of effort, because... actually... Alex Finn 43:33 Failure is fun. Sampson Davis 43:34 You know what? I'm going to take this opportunity to a advanced up and put 3 levels of efforts. Daniel Andrlik 43:43 Ooh, fancy. Sampson Davis 43:45 I think I do this by, Dili kind of makes, just adds to the like, the unreality of the Cirque du Soleil with his illusions, the light doesn't quite match up as it should. Daniel Andrlik 43:55 Okay. Sampson Davis 43:56 Where's that right now? 6? 9? Daniel Andrlik 43:58 So I assumed your free level effort when I gave you the 15, plus that asset I gave you. You're getting an extra two levels of effort now. And ChaCha's assistance. So yeah, 6. Sampson Davis 44:10 Alright. 6 exactly. Alex Finn 44:12 Yeah. Daniel Andrlik 44:13 Nice. He pauses for a moment and says, "I suppose you do all have a reputation. But you all together are worth quite a lot of shins." Stace Babcock 44:25 Gotta be alive to spend them though. Or so I've been told many times. Daniel Andrlik 44:29 "I suppose that's true." Can everybody make a Perception roll of 9. Stace Babcock 44:35 There's more of them. 8. Daniel Andrlik 44:37 Anybody else rolling Perception? Sampson Davis 44:39 Oh, can we? Alex Finn 44:39 I guess, ugh. Sampson Davis 44:42 Free level of effort. 7. Daniel Andrlik 44:44 Okay. Alex Finn 44:44 12. Daniel Andrlik 44:45 Okay, ChaCha and Dili, you notice that the beetles that are behind you have been getting closer. They're advancing. Sampson Davis 44:51 Yeah. Hey hey hey hey. Boundaries. Alex Finn 44:54 About that setting stuff on fire? Stace Babcock 44:56 Also, before we engage which it seems to be where this is heading, how many jars of venom does Nix have after four days? Daniel Andrlik 45:06 Roll 1d6 for me. Stace Babcock 45:07 6. Daniel Andrlik 45:08 Okay, you have four jars. You are feeling a little parched though. Stace Babcock 45:13 Interesting. Okay. Sampson Davis 45:14 That's a lot of fluid. Daniel Andrlik 45:15 Yeah, it's almost like your venom sacks are sore. Stace Babcock 45:21 Over did it. Alex Finn 45:22 Mm hmm. Stace Babcock 45:23 Nix will pass them out. Sampson Davis 45:25 Thank you. Daniel Andrlik 45:26 Okay, so while you guys do that, he is going to reach into a pocket and toss something in your guys's direction. I need everybody to make a Might Defense roll of 15. Stace Babcock 45:38 I'm sorry, Daniel, how much? Daniel Andrlik 45:39 15. Stace Babcock 45:40 17. Daniel Andrlik 45:42 Okay. Alex Finn 45:42 Um, dantataaaa. Sampson Davis 45:45 I'm gonna put one level of effort into that. Alex Finn 45:48 Oh, I got a nat 20. You should always sing to your dice apparently. Sampson Davis 45:53 I got a nat 1. Daniel Andrlik 45:56 Okay, so we've got a nat 20, We've got a nat 1. Sampson Davis 45:59 Yep. Daniel Andrlik 46:00 Nix, you will definitely be able to dodge this you'll take a little bit of damage. It'll be 3 Might points. But what would you propose as a major effect for your natural 20, Chacha? Alex Finn 46:12 That she can pinpoint this like center mass of this bug creature. Daniel Andrlik 46:18 I would say you can tell that this is a you know humanoid creature, these beetles crawl all over them. They leave them, they do their bidding. But at the core, they're still like a humanoid center to this creature. Underneath the beetles, like when you do get a glimpse of flesh, it is sort of pale and grub-like, like it isn't exposed the sun very often. Like a grad student. Sampson Davis 46:45 Hey. Everyone knows that already. You don't need to remind them. Alex Finn 46:51 Trying to think of another one I could do then. Any suggestion ya'll? Stace Babcock 46:56 Cancel out that 1. Alex Finn 46:58 Can I? Daniel Andrlik 46:59 If you want to be boring, sure. Alex Finn 47:00 I'd like to cancel out that nat 1. I didn't think that was an option. I thought like nat 1s were like supersedes. Daniel Andrlik 47:07 No, I would let you cancel out a nat 1 with nat 20 in this particular case, that would mean ChaCha takes some damage. But it would only be 3 points. And it would change the effect of Dilis roll to just a failed roll. Alex Finn 47:20 I don't have a lot of might, guys. Stace Babcock 47:22 It's been four days. Alex Finn 47:24 Oh, I know. She just generally doesn't have a lot of might. Daniel Andrlik 47:29 Yeah, she's a Nano. Stace Babcock 47:31 I would say maybe, lets see, a major effect for, maybe it also clears out an area of the bugs, like a fairly large size so we don't have to worry about the bugs for a while. Daniel Andrlik 47:41 So if you do that that won't cancel the natural 1. Stace Babcock 47:44 Right. That's for if ChaCha doesn't want to take damage though. Alex Finn 47:48 How are you, what size are your might pools, Sampson. Sampson Davis 47:51 I'm at 8 of 11 right now. Alex Finn 47:54 But we healed . Sampson Davis 47:55 That's because I spent effort. Alex Finn 47:58 Then I will cancel up on that nat 1, just because I don't know how much might damage that's gonna be. Daniel Andrlik 48:05 Okay. So, ChaCha, you'll take 3 might damage, Dili will take 5 might damage. Sampson Davis 48:12 Ow! Daniel Andrlik 48:14 And Dili you are temporarily frozen. Sampson Davis 48:18 This motherfucker. Daniel Andrlik 48:19 You can't be injured anymore, but you are frozen in space-time. And I guess at this time, Nix and ChaCha will roll initiative. Stace Babcock 48:31 Hell yeah. Love initiative. 9. Alex Finn 48:34 Got a 7. Daniel Andrlik 48:36 Actually, Dili, roll initiative for me, just cause. Sampson Davis 48:38 I have a question on temporal, like, from my point of view, am I just, do I notice anything? What I'm asking is like, can I still, I can't cast my illusions from this state? Daniel Andrlik 48:48 No, you're in a frozen state. Sampson Davis 48:50 Gotcha. 14. Daniel Andrlik 48:52 Okay, so Mr. Beetle Man is up first. He will send his beetles at Nix because it's just his beetles attacking and not him. It will be a 15 speed defense roll. Stace Babcock 49:04 Okay, so that is a 9 for me. Daniel Andrlik 49:07 Yep. Stace Babcock 49:08 17. Daniel Andrlik 49:09 Okay, so these beetles come at you but you are able to hop away from them, as they swarm around you clicking their little mandibles. Stace Babcock 49:18 Egh, Nix is like hopping around on her synth leg, like, Egh. Daniel Andrlik 49:24 It's like she's lifted up her flesh leg and she's just pogo-sticking. Stace Babcock 49:27 Crunch-crunch. Daniel Andrlik 49:28 So, Dili. Sampson Davis 49:30 Sup. Daniel Andrlik 49:30 You are in darkness. Sampson Davis 49:34 Hello. Daniel Andrlik 49:35 It seems like you have a problem, Father. Sampson Davis 49:39 I do. Yes. Daniel Andrlik 49:43 Do you want some help? Sampson Davis 49:45 Are you offering help? Daniel Andrlik 49:46 Maybe a trade? Sampson Davis 49:47 Yeah. All right. "What would this trade be?" Daniel Andrlik 49:50 You are currently frozen in time. Sampson Davis 49:53 Okay. Daniel Andrlik 49:54 And you are currently bounded by the limits of your own cognition. Sampson Davis 49:59 All right. Daniel Andrlik 50:00 I could overclock you temporarily. There's some physical risk, but it would allow you to use your own mental abilities to escape your little time prison here. And an exchange, I would ask for a favor to be named later of equal value. Sampson Davis 50:20 I think you think very little of Nix and ChaCha. So I don't know how valuable you think helping would be in this situation. Daniel Andrlik 50:29 I'm just saying, you're going to be here for six of your hours. Sampson Davis 50:37 Okay. Daniel Andrlik 50:38 This conversation will go on for a while because it's happening at an accelerated timeframe. In Dili's head, while he's talking to his son. Sampson Davis 50:47 Can you see outside? Daniel Andrlik 50:48 I see whatever you see, for all I know your friends are already dead, you could just be surrounded by those small creatures crawling all over you. I wouldn't lie to you, Father, I have more respect for you than that. Sampson Davis 51:02 I have no doubt you are telling me the truth. And that's what's giving me pause for thought. If you want a favor, I'm going to need to know just a bit beforehand. Daniel Andrlik 51:14 I can't tell you that. I don't know what I'm going to need yet. I'm offering you a chance to save your life and maybe the lives of your friends. Sampson Davis 51:22 Dili remembers the last time he thought he was going to save people, or at least save one person. And he remembers that he scarred that person with a caustic cypher. "No deal. They'll do fine without me." Daniel Andrlik 51:37 "As you wish." And then there's silence. Next up is Nix. Nix, Dili is frozen in the air. He looks very similar to that Temporal Mine you used on the city guards, maybe a little bit different. But he is there. And there are all these beetles around you. And this guy is standing about a short distance away from you. Stace Babcock 51:59 A short distance, you say? Daniel Andrlik 52:02 Yes, a short distance. Stace Babcock 52:04 All right. Nix is going to use Fleet of Foot. Daniel Andrlik 52:08 Okay, to do what? Stace Babcock 52:09 To throw her acid jar at beetle guy, and then just close right up in on him. Daniel Andrlik 52:16 Okay, so you're throwing first and then moving. Stace Babcock 52:18 Yes. Daniel Andrlik 52:19 Okay. So give me a speed roll of 21. Stace Babcock 52:24 Oh, would you consider that medium ranged? Daniel Andrlik 52:27 Oh, these are not medium weapons. Stace Babcock 52:29 Oh, alright. That's fair. Put it in my sling. Daniel Andrlik 52:32 Yeah, if you put in your sling, I'll give it to you. Stace Babcock 52:35 Okay, yeah, Nix puts it in her sling. Still 20, still 21 Speed? Daniel Andrlik 52:40 Well, now it's 18 because you're trained in medium range. Stace Babcock 52:43 18. Okay, I will spend two levels of speed effort here. Nat 20. Daniel Andrlik 52:51 Wow. Alex Finn 52:52 Nice. Daniel Andrlik 52:53 extra damage or major effect? Stace Babcock 52:54 Extra damage. Daniel Andrlik 52:56 Okay, so he is definitely gonna take some damage. The beetles absorb some of that damage. They kind of move to cover his eyes. But the beetles that get hit by that wither and die. Stace Babcock 53:11 Okay. And for the damage, does the jar hitting him do damage? Daniel Andrlik 53:15 No, the beetles absorb that handily. Stace Babcock 53:18 Okay. Oh, gotcha. Cool. And now Nix is right there. Daniel Andrlik 53:23 Yep. Right next to him. Now it's ChaCha's turn. Alex Finn 53:26 I mean, like, can she light the beetles on fire? Daniel Andrlik 53:30 You can try anything. Alex Finn 53:31 Yes. I would like to try and light these beetles on fire. Daniel Andrlik 53:35 Okay, so with the beetles, it'll be a 15. Alex Finn 53:37 With Pyromaniac that becomes 12. Daniel Andrlik 53:40 Yes. And do you have a tool that you're using to light them on fire? Alex Finn 53:44 She was going to try and like grab a stick from the fire and do that. Daniel Andrlik 53:47 Okay, so since you have a tool that you're attempting to do it with, that will make it a 9. Alex Finn 53:53 Okay, yes, that is math. 17. Daniel Andrlik 53:56 Okay, so you managed to set some of the beetles on fire. The figure over by Nix winces a little bit. Not so much in pain, but more like he can hear something that disturbs him. Alex Finn 54:08 Like the screaming of his friends? Daniel Andrlik 54:10 Yeah, you can't so much hear anything, it's a sort of like a snap-crackle-pop for you, but you presume he has some sort of connection that he can make out with the beetles. Okay, so now it is big dude's turn. He is going to swing a beetle covered fist at Nix. Nix, because the beetles are constantly like scuttling around his arm it makes it hard to track, so it'll be a 21 Speed Defense roll. Stace Babcock 54:36 Sure. So that's a 15 for Nix. Just to see what's up. 4. Daniel Andrlik 54:44 Okay, so he will hit you. So you will take 7 Might damage and I need you to make a Might Defense roll of 12. Stace Babcock 54:52 Nat 20. Sampson Davis 54:54 Let's fucking go. Alex Finn 54:55 Fuck yeah. Daniel Andrlik 54:56 Okay, cool. So I'll tell you what you definitely get to do first and then you can propose a major effect. So you spot one of these beetles on your arm and managed to flick it off before it begins burrowing in. What would you propose as a major effect? Alex Finn 55:11 Did you watch the Mummy recently? Daniel Andrlik 55:15 I just always feel bugs under my skin. Stace Babcock 55:18 Could a major effect be that Nix has the chance to, she had four jars, she gave one to ChaCha, one to Dili. She has another one that just to like, throw it straight down on the beetles on the ground. Just like almost like drop it. Daniel Andrlik 55:31 Okay. Yeah. So you throw it on the ground and the ones the beetles on the ground skitter away. I mean, the one on your arm was from him hitting you, but the ones on the ground skitter away, at least the ones that didn't die immediately. Okay, so next up would be Dili's turn. Dili exists in the dark. Sampson Davis 55:51 Wheee! As I float in the void. Daniel Andrlik 55:54 From Dili's perspective, an hour passes. Sampson Davis 55:57 Ah, fuck Daniel Andrlik 55:58 From the rest of your perspectives 6 seconds have passed. So now it's Nix's turn. Stace Babcock 56:03 Oh, right. I was like, didn't I just do something? But it was, yeah yeah. Ooh, So Nix noticed a bug trying to burrow under her skin. But Nix ain't got no weapons because she don't need no weapons. Daniel Andrlik 56:17 It's almost like this guy's designed to deal with somebody would have to keep touching him. Stace Babcock 56:23 Nix will take her synth leg and kick him. Daniel Andrlik 56:27 Okay, cool. So it's a 21 to hit him. Stace Babcock 56:31 Unarmed attack, so 18. I'll spend one level of effort. 18. Daniel Andrlik 56:40 Okay, nice. So that is plus 2 damage and your base unarmed attack is 7. So that's 7 plus 2. Okay, so there are some beetles on your leg but because it's synth, you can just sort of shake them off. Stace Babcock 56:55 Yeah. Daniel Andrlik 56:56 Or at least most of them off. Next up is ChaCha. ChaCha, you can see that Nix is over by the big dude, she's been punched by him. She's kicked him in return. Dili seems to be frozen in place, there are about 12 of these beetles crawling up his body. But you can also see some of those phantom centipedes and beetles seem to be following their path. And those centipedes are retreating from the beetles. Alex Finn 57:25 I guess ChaCha's gonna protect Dili because Dili seems to be frozen. And like, Daniel Andrlik 57:30 Okay, Alex Finn 57:31 I don't think ChaCha would read Dili's mind without his consent. Daniel Andrlik 57:35 That's fair. Alex Finn 57:36 Yeah. Daniel Andrlik 57:36 Actually, ChaCha give me an Understanding Numenera roll of 6 with your training. Alex Finn 57:41 12. Daniel Andrlik 57:42 So, you can tell that Dili is frozen in time. So while there are beetles that are kind of crawling across him, there's nothing they can actually do to him until he is unfrozen. Alex Finn 57:54 Would ChaCha be able to tell how long he'll be frozen? Daniel Andrlik 57:57 It's gonna be hours. Alex Finn 57:59 Oh, he's fine. Yeah, then ChaCha is gonna go help Nix. I guess shoot him what the Pew-Pew. Daniel Andrlik 58:05 Okay, so you can shoot him with the Pew-Pew. Pew-Pew functions as a light weapon. So that'll make it an 18. Alex Finn 58:10 A 19? Daniel Andrlik 58:12 18. Alex Finn 58:12 Okay, what pool is this? Speed? Daniel Andrlik 58:16 Speed. Alex Finn 58:16 I guess I'll use one level of effert. Math. Daniel Andrlik 58:21 Okay. That makes it a 15. Alex Finn 58:22 19. Daniel Andrlik 58:24 Okay, extra damage or minor effect. Alex Finn 58:28 Extra damage, plz. Daniel Andrlik 58:30 Okay, so that is plus three damage. And Pew-pew gun ignores armor. Alex Finn 58:34 Yes. Daniel Andrlik 58:35 So role depletion for me. Alex Finn 58:37 14. Daniel Andrlik 58:38 Okay, so next up is the dude. He is going to swing at Nix, because Nix is the prize bounty in all this. Alex Finn 58:46 Jealous. Daniel Andrlik 58:47 So Nix, please make a 21 Speed Defense roll. Stace Babcock 58:50 Sure. 15. Daniel Andrlik 58:52 Right. Stace Babcock 58:53 15. Daniel Andrlik 58:54 Okay, so you managed to dodge his strike, tell me how you managed to dodge this punch. Stace Babcock 58:59 I'm gonna say that Nix is like hopping around, trying to scrape the beetles off her synth leg with her boot. And so her movements are just generally unpredictable. And so she just has to lean a little further when his swing comes around. Daniel Andrlik 59:15 Okay, so that's how you dodge his strike. Next up is Dili. Dili, you spend an hour in darkness. Sampson Davis 59:20 Can Dili manifest illusions in the darkness? Daniel Andrlik 59:23 In the darkness of your mind, yes. Sampson Davis 59:25 He's working on a virtual Nix leg, just plan stuff out. Daniel Andrlik 59:29 Oh, I like that. Alex Finn 59:31 Nice. Daniel Andrlik 59:31 Cool. So you have a skill in remembering details? Sampson Davis 59:34 Yes. Daniel Andrlik 59:35 So give me a 9. With your free level of effort that makes it a 6. Crafting Numenera. This is to determine how detailed is your diagram, like is it enough that you could actually build a plan off of that diagram? Sampson Davis 59:51 Right, right. So is that a 3 after everything's done? Daniel Andrlik 59:55 Yeah. Sampson Davis 59:56 16. Daniel Andrlik 59:57 Okay, cool. Next up is Nix. Stace Babcock 1:00:00 Would you consider the beetles to be a weapon? Or arms? The reason I'm asking is Nix has advantage to disadvantage, attack an armed foe, damaging and disarming. Daniel Andrlik 1:00:11 I don't know if you could completely disarm him, you might be able to get like a temporary effect for like a round where the beetles can't do anything. Stace Babcock 1:00:20 Yeah, no, the temporary effect sounds good. So, Nix will attempt that. Daniel Andrlik 1:00:26 Okay. So it's a base of 21. But you're trained in unarmed attack. So it goes down to an 18. Stace Babcock 1:00:32 And it goes back up to 21. Because advantage to disadvantage is hindered. So, and then I'll spend two levels of effort. Daniel Andrlik 1:00:41 Okay, so that makes it a 15. Stace Babcock 1:00:42 Yep. And I don't think I've any other. Nope. 8. Daniel Andrlik 1:00:48 Okay, so you attempt to disarm him, but he dodges out of the way because the beetles are always moving over his body, which just makes it very hard to track him and his movements clearly. So next up would be ChaCha. Alex Finn 1:01:03 I guess we'll shoot him again. No, wait. Daniel Andrlik 1:01:06 Okay. Alex Finn 1:01:07 Would it be more helpful to go after the beetles? Throw acid at him. Yes. Daniel Andrlik 1:01:12 Okay. So throwing acid at him? Alex Finn 1:01:14 Yes. Daniel Andrlik 1:01:15 Okay, so that would be a 21 to hit. Alex Finn 1:01:17 Could we use juggling from Cirque du Soliel? Daniel Andrlik 1:01:21 No, not for this. Alex Finn 1:01:22 I mean, the throw stuff in that show, don't they? Daniel Andrlik 1:01:25 Yeah, it's just a little too much. I-... mechanically, I don't want to make Cirque du Soleil a combat thing. Alex Finn 1:01:32 Fine. When she masters Cirque du Soleil it will be. She's only trained in it. What pool is that? Daniel Andrlik 1:01:39 Speed. Alex Finn 1:01:40 Guess we'll have to use a level of effort. Daniel Andrlik 1:01:43 That makes it an 18. Alex Finn 1:01:45 And we'll try it. Oh, nat 20. Fuck yeah. Sampson Davis 1:01:49 Nice. Daniel Andrlik 1:01:50 Okay, so extra damage or major effect. Alex Finn 1:01:53 Extra damage. We'd like to take him out soon. Daniel Andrlik 1:01:55 Okay, so what does it look like when the venom eats through these beetles and into his face killing him? Alex Finn 1:02:01 It's like that scene in you know Indiana Jones and the, when they open the Ark. Sampson Davis 1:02:07 Raiders, yeah. Alex Finn 1:02:08 And his face just melts off like that Nazi. Daniel Andrlik 1:02:12 Okay, so he collapses in a heap and the rest of the beetles scatterand you are out of combat. Alex Finn 1:02:21 Yaaaaaaaaaaay! Stace Babcock 1:02:21 Nix goes, "Check yourself, ChaCha, make sure there's no, make sure there's none on ya." Nix looks herself over and then runs over to Dili to check him for beetles burrowing into the skin. Daniel Andrlik 1:02:33 You can see there's like one or two beetles that are on him and they try to burrow, but they can't. Stace Babcock 1:02:39 Okay, so Nix will pull them back off, or like knock them off and then run back to search beetle man's body. Daniel Andrlik 1:02:45 Okay, so on his body, you find a small notebook. Inside has information on what he knows about the bounties. Most of it's the same as the posters. You know, it's descriptions of the Slaydek family, their worth, when they were known to have escaped captivity. He also has 50 shins on him. And one cypher. Alex Finn 1:03:10 Oooh. Daniel Andrlik 1:03:12 The cypher is an injector. It is a Reviver. It can take any sleeping, unconscious, comatose character, and immediately wake them up. Doesn't heal any damage or do anything else. It just wakes them up. Alex Finn 1:03:27 Would it apply to Dili. Daniel Andrlik 1:03:28 If you could get it into him, but he's frozen. ChaCha would know that Dili is essentially frozen almost like in a bubble reality that's surrounded him. And in a couple hours, that bubble will pop and Dili will return. But until now there's really no way for anybody to break the plane of that bubble. Alex Finn 1:03:47 Legit. Stace Babcock 1:03:48 Was there anything in the notebook about how Beetle man knew to follow this road? Daniel Andrlik 1:03:53 It says that they were expected to have left from Charmonde. Stace Babcock 1:03:58 Okay. Daniel Andrlik 1:03:59 And that when he gets to SCharmonde he should check in with a contact there who is listed only as "J". And it also has a scribbled address. It's a little hard to read. But Nix you would recognize it as the address in Charmonde of the Way House of the Benevolent Society of Travelers. Alex Finn 1:04:22 Oh shit. Sampson Davis 1:04:22 Fucking Jen. Daniel Andrlik 1:04:23 And that's where we'll end this episode. Stace Babcock 1:04:26 Oh man. Fuck. Oh, shit. Alex Finn 1:04:31 You done goofed. Daniel Andrlik 1:04:32 So, Sampson, something about this episode, even though you were frozen. Sampson Davis 1:04:37 I like how we won and I didn't have to do anything. That was cool. I'm also very interested in the reason why Dili said "No", I thought of that on the fly and character flaws are fun. Daniel Andrlik 1:04:49 Curious where that'll go to. Okay, cool. Well, we have a segment that we do each week called Player Intrusions. That's where we offer you the listener an XP to check out something that we think you would really dig. This week it is Sampson's turn. Sampson, what would you offer our listeners an XP to check out? Sampson Davis 1:05:05 I would offer them an XP to check out. I don't know what to call this. Have you guys heard of Blaseball? Stace Babcock 1:05:13 Yes. Are you about to recommend Blaseball? Daniel Andrlik 1:05:18 I've heard of it, but I have no idea how it actually works. Stace Babcock 1:05:21 Oh, Sampson Davis 1:05:22 I am about to recommend Blaseball because it is fucking nuts. Alex Finn 1:05:26 What is Blaseball? Stace Babcock 1:05:27 Who was your team? Sampson Davis 1:05:29 Hades Tigers. Stace Babcock 1:05:30 Oh, I went with the Mexico City hot wings? I gotta look. Sampson Davis 1:05:33 The Wild Wings. Yeah. Stace Babcock 1:05:34 The Wild Wings. Thank you. Sampson Davis 1:05:36 Okay. I don't like sports. It's not that I think they're bad. I just, I don't know, watching like millionaires just run at each other for a couple hours. It just doesn't excite me very much. But Blaseball though is fucking wild. It's based off of like the math of baseball. Basically, what happens is that like each week is a season. And during that season, you basically bet on teams, your team, for example, on who's going to win and you collect coins from that. With those coins. You buy tickets. And with those tickets at the end of each week, you vote on a decree. Daniel Andrlik 1:06:10 The decree? Stace Babcock 1:06:11 Yes. Sampson Davis 1:06:12 Yeah. And what these decrees are basically like, changes to the game that will be implemented the following week. I need to pull up what the first decrees were because they are basically exemplary of what Blaseball is. Stace Babcock 1:06:25 So I just started on my own not reading anything about, like I've seen it in on Twitter and stuff. So I was like, let me Google this Blaseball and see what's up and then this was only like the week before last week, and then I started to get into it. And actually, that is a really great way to experience it because, at first anyway, I have looked up how things work. But that horror vibe is so cool. Sampson Davis 1:06:47 Yeah, there's like so much lore that comes out as a result of this like simulation. Where the first? Okay, so these were the three decrees from the first season. Redistribute the wealth, where if top five players get redistributed to random teams. Relegation, where the last place team is eliminated from the league. And then the third one, Open the Forbidden Book, the effect, it is forbidden. Every week, everyone votes on what is going to be decreed. And that first week, nearly everyone voted to open the forbidden book and it's just been getting crazier and crazier from there. I think the Hades Tigers were originally called something else, but then the town that they were based in, virtually, like a portal to hell like opened up, they got renamed as a result of that. Peanuts have started raining from the sky. There was one part where a player died. But then because of like champion standings, like individual players standings, something happens when they're at like the 14th place. The community basically like voted this player like Hotdog Fingers, I think it was his name was. By the way, the names of these players are phenomenal. But basically the community like manipulate the system and resurrected a dead pitcher. It is this is crazy, like hodgepodge of system on systems. I don't understand like half of it. I barely understand like a quarter of it, but it is so much fun. And by the way, it's all free. I say gambling, there's no way to pay for any of the coins or items that you can get. Stace Babcock 1:08:16 And It's browser based. So if you gotta you gotta work computer, you know what I'm saying? Sampson Davis 1:08:21 It is browser based, yes. And also, it's pretty easy to just like get into it as Stace said like, you don't need to read too much on it. You can just like start playing and started like noodling around the wiki and just seeing what the fuck is happening. It's a lot of fun. Stace Babcock 1:08:33 I bet on this game with a fake money, right? And but there's like player swap. So I had tried to like look at the Player Stats, which are wild. Like if you go on their card. It's crazy. Yeah. Sampson Davis 1:08:45 Oh, yeah. Stace Babcock 1:08:46 No, but then there were random player swaps. So it didn't matter. And like it's yeah, it's really cool. Sampson Davis 1:08:51 I wonder if I can pull up the kinds of stats they have because it's not like strength and dexterity. It's like Moxie, or like grass stains, just stats and you're just like, what are, which one is the dump stat? I don't know. Oh, shit. There's right now as we're recording there are a couple players that are "Elsewhere" and I don't know what that means. Stace Babcock 1:09:12 They're just randomly going elsewhere. No one knows where they're going. They just go Yeah. Daniel Andrlik 1:09:18 That's pretty cool. I wasn't really interested in baseball to start with but I didn't realize there was all this weird story behind it. So if somebody wanted to reach out to us and tell us what they think about Blaseball or about the podcast, how would they do that Sampson? Sampson Davis 1:09:35 Well, they can go to explorerswanted.fm, that is our websites from which they can find nearly everything such as our Twitter where we are @explorerswanted or our Instagram and Facebook where we are @explorerswantedpodcast. Best way to talk to us directly is to come to our Discord which you can get to by following exploreswanted.fm/discord. Additionally, if you would like to support us and it is within your means you can come to patreon.com/explorerswanted and throw money at us from there. That's the best angle to chuck coins. Alex Finn 1:10:09 Make it rain. Daniel Andrlik 1:10:10 Yeah, singles and non-sequential bills are best. Alex Finn 1:10:12 We also accept making it hail. Sampson Davis 1:10:14 We're also taking NFT's, NTFs, whatever they're called. Whatever that made up money is. Alex Finn 1:10:22 Oh, man, do you want me to explain it to you after the show? Sampson Davis 1:10:24 I'd rather not. I think it's best I know as much as I know now. Stace Babcock 1:10:27 Yeah, gonna, find. I feel like when you find out more about it you're gonna come down as solidly anti-NFT. Yeah. Alex Finn 1:10:35 It gets deep and horrid. Stace Babcock 1:10:37 And dumber. Daniel Andrlik 1:10:39 Yeah. And if you liked the show, the best thing that you could do to help us is to tell a friend and tell them why you liked the show and why they should listen to it. The second best thing you could do is to leave us a five star written review on a podcast directory, specifically Apple podcasts, Pod Chaser, or Stitcher. Those make a huge difference to people trying out the show. And in fact, we have a new five star review. Stace, why don't you tell us about that? Stace Babcock 1:11:06 Yeah, this is a five star review, looks like Apple podcasts. And it says, "Fantastic atmosphere." It is by Leon Rose from the US of A. "The GM and players have a great chemistry with each other. The characters are distinct and interesting. And there's a nice balance of story and action to keep things moving. I'm not familiar with the world of Numenera, but had no trouble following along through context and listening to this show has definitely piqued my interest to learn more." Daniel Andrlik 1:11:33 Awesome! Stace Babcock 1:11:34 Which is cool, because like that was like one of our top things when we started doing this. We're like, just expose more people to Numenera. So that's really great to hear and thank you for leaving that review. Daniel Andrlik 1:11:44 Yes, thank you so much. If you didn't like the podcast, or if you just thought it was meh. Well, let's take a moment and have a real conversation. I have to tell one of the listeners something and that listener in particular is you. You know who you are. I think I saw you in a dream last night. You smiled at me and laughed. I was wearing an Aardvark costume at the time, admittedly. But when you open your mouth, your skin split open and hundreds of miniature bats with red beady eyes swarmed out. Now bats can carry a number of diseases including some that can transfer to humans. So you know, maybe get that checked out. If you want to reach out to us individually on social media you can, you can find me on Twitter @andrlik, A-N-D-R-L-I-K. Stace Babcock 1:12:29 You can find me on Twitter @stacewindu. Sampson Davis 1:12:32 Fucking tell me what team you're on in Blaseball. I'm @slampotato. Alex Finn 1:12:36 I feel like that was a sex thing @realteaunicorn. Sampson, what team are you on? Sampson Davis 1:12:42 Hades Tigers. Alex Finn 1:12:45 You can also catch me on Twitch. Daniel Andrlik 1:12:47 Okay, that's it for us. We hope you enjoyed the show. We will be back next week as we will for every week in the foreseeable future. Have a good night, day, weekend or whenever you listen to this. And... Everyone 1:12:58 Bye! Stace Babcock 1:13:31 But by the time her shift ends she's crossed it all back out again. Alex Finn 1:13:34 Very nice. Sampson Davis 1:13:36 Actually, that kind of teared me up a little bit. Damnit, Stace. Alex Finn 1:13:41 Now I'm gonna have to go on the internet and look at something, I don't know, sexy? What makes you stop crying? Sampson Davis 1:13:47 Rewatching some, like slice of life anime, I guess? Like, go watch Ouran again, just... Alex Finn 1:13:53 But like it gets depressing. Sampson Davis 1:13:55 When? Alex Finn 1:13:56 When they're just like, hey, remember how this is depressing? Remember, how all these characters are secretly broken? Sampson Davis 1:14:02 Maybe I need to watch, rewatch Ouran, I don't remember it being like, that bad. Alex Finn 1:14:06 I feel like it always is. Sampson Davis 1:14:08 But the happy ending, everyone's happy at the end. Alex Finn 1:14:11 Yeah, but like how many episodes do you have to get through to get to the happy? Sampson Davis 1:14:15 I mean, the final happy it's probably like, what 26? Was it like two or three seasons? I don't remember. But I mean, those first few seasons. The first few episodes are just pure fucking serotonin, all those hijinks? Alex Finn 1:14:27 I mean, yeah, I guess. Really want to just eat Pocky right now, you know? A little cronch action for Daniel's ear holes. Daniel Andrlik 1:14:37 I'm always down for Poky. And yes, the letter was very good. And if you're sad, you just watch Ted Lasso. Sampson Davis 1:14:42 That's on Apple TV. And I don't have that. Alex Finn 1:14:46 Same. Although I did rewatch this Dracula show that I apparently got on iTunes from 2014 and it's like Dracula's brought back to life, and they're gonna get vengeance. Sampson Davis 1:15:00 Is it a good show? Stace Babcock 1:15:01 For what? Alex Finn 1:15:02 I don't know yet. He talks a lot though, so. Daniel Andrlik 1:15:08 That helps. And... Everyone 1:15:13 Bye! Alex Finn 1:15:13 Max is doing weird foot stuff to me. Transcribed by https://otter.ai
