Episode 28 — John 1:35–51 — Sharing the One You’ve Found Welcome to 2 Minute Disciple — where we slow down with Jesus, one passage at a time.
Each day, we follow a simple rhythm: Slow Down, Read, Notice, Reread, Meditate, Respond, and Exercise.
Let’s begin. Slow Down Jesus is here.
He’s sitting in your favorite spot, waiting for you to join Him. You have a million things on your mind that need your attention, but right now it’s time to be with Jesus. Set those things aside, relax, and calm your body. Close your eyes. Take a deep breath in, then slowly release it. As you inhale, whisper in your heart: “I believe.”
As you exhale, pray: “In you Jesus.” Do this three times, then sit in silence for a few moments.
Read  The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Come, follow me.” Philip was from Bethsaida, Andrew and Peter’s hometown. Philip went to look for Nathanael and told him, “We have found the very person Moses* and the prophets wrote about! His name is Jesus, the son of Joseph from Nazareth.” “Nazareth!” exclaimed Nathanael. “Can anything good come from Nazareth?” “Come and see for yourself,” Philip replied. As they approached, Jesus said, “Now here is a genuine son of Israel—a man of complete integrity.” “How do you know about me?” Nathanael asked. Jesus replied, “I could see you under the fig tree before Philip found you.” Then Nathanael exclaimed, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God—the King of Israel!” Jesus asked him, “Do you believe this just because I told you I had seen you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than this.” Then he said, “I tell you the truth, you will all see heaven open and the angels of God going up and down on the Son of Man, the one who is the stairway between heaven and earth.*”  (John 1:43–51, NLT) Notice What stands out to you in this passage?
Is there a word or phrase that catches your attention?
Hold it in your heart for a moment. Reread Hear the passage again slowly, being mindful of what God is wanting you to hear from Him.   Meditate When you discover something amazing, you can’t keep it to yourself — you have to share it. Philip met Jesus, realized He was the promised Messiah, and immediately went to tell Nathanael. Nathanael was skeptical at first, but Philip didn’t argue — he simply invited him: “Come and see for yourself.” When Nathanael met Jesus, and Jesus revealed that He already knew him, Nathanael’s skepticism vanished. He was convinced. Once you’ve met Jesus and experienced His love, grace, and truth, sharing Him with others isn’t just a duty — it’s a joy. Take a few moments to reflect on this truth:
Jesus is the greatest treasure, and He’s worth sharing with everyone you know. Respond Holy Spirit help me to share Jesus with everyone I know. Exercise The rush of life will meet you again when you leave this sacred place—but you can carry this moment into your day by forming new habits. Habit: Social Sharing
The rush of life will meet you again when you leave this sacred space — but you can carry this moment into your day by forming new habits. Today’s habit is Social Sharing:
Post a short reflection on social media about today’s Scripture. It could be a verse that stood out to you, a thought from your meditation, or a personal testimony about how Jesus has impacted your life. Here’s why this matters: It plants seeds. You never know who might read your post and be curious about Jesus. It encourages believers. Your words can strengthen someone else’s faith. It keeps Jesus at the center. Sharing publicly reminds you that your faith isn’t just private — it’s something worth talking about. Be authentic. Keep it simple. Invite others with the same spirit Philip had: “Come and see for yourself.” The goal is to let your online presence be a reflection of your relationship with Jesus — pointing people toward Him every chance you get. That’s your two minutes with Jesus for today.
Now, take what you’ve heard… and live it.
Until next time, keep slowing down, keep listening, and keep walking with Jesus.
